      I think that the cutie mark thing should have had a full episode, it didn't seem at all connected to the "coronation". As for Alicorn Twilight in general, it won't ruin the show instantly but I think it's a bad sign that Hasbro is willing to arbitrarily and permanently change something like that. Hopefully Season 4 will give an actual reason, perhaps the coronation had to be RIGHT NOW for the same reason Discord had to be released: because there's something coming that...
