If you ask me, simply saying that they're doing it out of pure greed is an oversimplification. The cost of money has to be able to make a profit in order to pay everybody who made or works in the gaming industry a living and to make up for the cost of materials. It doesn't just apply to the gaming industry; itapplies to any kind of business. Including film and even the book industry. That's economy 101.
The largest publishers, like 2K, make hundreds of millions in profit from games and the greedy practices they do within them, if not billions. 2K is under the Take-Two umbrella, of which Rockstar is also under. GTA V alone makes an insane amount of money in micro transaction sales. That's not even counting the amount it has made from game copy sales alone.
Raising the price is greed in terms of these massive companies. They make more than enough money from everything else they do. Making us pay more for the cost of entry is nothing more than icing on the cake for them.
And "they have to pay for employees" makes me think of when Activision fired 800 people, around the exact same time they were reporting record revenue. These companies don't care in the slightest about people.

Would be okay with $70 for high end titles if they weren't also filled to the brim with the greediest shit imaginable in this industry. 2K has absolutely no place in trying to justify this kind of price increase. Their games are essentially free to play mobile games that charge at least $60 up front every year. Just look at the pre order bonuses. All of them are for the "MyTeam", with maybe one thing not being for that mode. So for $60, you get a game and a bunch of worthless, virtual currency which is only being given to you for free to hook you into buying more. This piece of trash company is trying to justify $70 for their games? F**k off and die 2K, along with Activision, Ubisoft, EA, Bethesda and Konami. Hilarious how the richest gaming corporations on the planet are the ones constantly acting like they always need more. "So sorry, we giant corporations that are worth BILLIONS of dollars don't get enough money, we need to charge more because we need more capitalism please. Feel sorry for us."

Actually I was just think of a generic one for my OC. By generic, you just mean a pic and their name, right?
I can basically try to do whatever you request, minus drawing or something like that. Send me whatever you want to be used and any details needed.

I have a very complicated love/hate relationship with Japan's culture. On one side, I do love their sense of honor and the rich history they have. Japan is also filled to the brim with personality and individuality. Those are great aspects. On the other side of this...Japan irritates me in other ways. They apparently love their cliches, hence why most anime/manga suffer from terrible tropes over and over again. Japan seems to have a fairly sexist culture as well. Girls are always sexualized in media, always having to wear skirts and being "cute schoolgirls" and that is annoying. They also love to portray other countries with only cliches and stereotypes most of the time. While I do appreciate their sense of honor, they do take that too far in every day life. Families seem to often have immense standards for their children and any failure to meet those standards can make people feel extreme shame, hence the high suicide rate. That kind of pressure on people is over such trivial things yet it is ingrained into Japanese culture.

Hey, are you still doing signatures @Kyoshi?
I am. Usually people send requests to me personally hence why I haven't updated this thread. Many of my new general use signatures are on my Deviant Art as well. Methinks there is something specific you want?

Wasn't a fan of either aspects. Socializing for me was always this horribly awkward thing that would usually end up with being mocked. Hardly was ever able to make friends. I did have a tiny group of "friends" by the end of high school, but since then I haven't seen any of this. That's over 7 years ago now. The learning aspect was actually even more meaningless to me. Having to learn worthless garbage like Algebra instead of anything even remotely close to useful or interesting made it all feel like I was being groomed to be a typical drone. Been out of school for 7 years and I've learned infinitely more on my own time than school ever taught me in the later years. Not that it has amounted to anything whatsoever but the point is still there.

If graphics were the most important thing, then the two most popular games in the world wouldn't be Minecraft and *gags* Fortnite. That's why next gen consoles being hyped up so hard once again on visual prowess seems foolish at this point. I used to be one of those people that would be so excited to see what "graphics" the new tech could produce. Nowadays I simply couldn't care less, hence why next gen isn't exciting me at all at this point.

On hopeless days, I sit and justify
A wholesome life, of which I'm so deprived
I hope and pray, that I won't stay around
Too long to stain, because I am nothing

Definitely wasn't feeling the pride this time around. This year is making everything feel so flat.

Been feeling a sense of relief and appreciation. The recent kerfuffle was rough, but the community banding together afterwards has been an uplifting thing. It makes you take a step back and simply take joy in the good things.

Almost all insurance commericals. They are one of the main reasons for the idiotic commercial trend of "Be as wacky as possible or just spam our catchphrase 50 billion times" and it is annoying. Not to mention they are always so damn cheeky about you paying tons of money that you have to pay if you want any kind of safety net. Gieco takes the cake for being the worst of them all in these regards. Even Allstate, which used to be pretty good at simply doing a good job describing their service for people, has devolved into spamming a slogan over and over. Essentially, Insurance commercials are a lot like Super Bowl commercials just on a smaller scale and I can't stand SB commercials.

The rest I can be fine with, it is this part I am not overly fond of. To me an entire point of a blog is putting your own thoughts out there. A compromise that I can think is requiring that any blog of this nature being locked from comments. That is a simple solution. The debate pit often feels like a never ending back and forth that goes nowhere so that is where I always found blogs useful for highlighting a subject without the bickering that comes with it.
I have a strong feeling such a suggestion will not be taken into consideration. I am totally down for the idea behind this entire movement here. The blog portion is simply where I think it goes one tiny step too far. Just my view on it all.
Either way, I hope we can go forward from this in a more positive mindset. A bigger sense of togetherness. A full embrace of FiM's entire theme. In the end, that is what matters most.

Been thinking a lot lately about why I exist, in any capacity. I exist, but does that matter? I try, but does it affect anything? I talk, but do I just falter? Am I a positive or negative influence? Should I still be be around? All of those questions, I can only give one answer: I don't know. I simply don't know. I wish I did. This has been a year for testing my resolve and needless to say, I'm not doing so great.

Been a while since I last posted in this thread, but I realize I only mentioned one comfort food. I have several, so I should revive this thread.
Lately I've realize just how much I love mac & cheese, specifically shells & cheese. That has always been a comfort food for me, but it has been the past couple of weeks that I remember how much I truly love it. I've been making the cups of Velveeta shells and cheese lately, lovely stuff.
Another all time classic for me is Campbell's chicken noodle soup. Once again it is another case of remember recently how good it is. You can't go wrong with chicken noodle soup.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich, does that even need an explanation?
That flavor combo is divinely magical.
Cereal is another great one, the sheer amount of variety makes it difficult to choose just one kind. I will say that Frost Shredded Wheat is top tier.
Speaking of classics:
Turkey sandwiches are AMAZING. <3 I especially love them nice and cold.

Woooo. After last week's Pokemon show thingy presented us with a new Pokemon Snap and besides that a bunch of worthless trash, Nintendo got people pretty excited about the next presentation, which happened a bit ago.
I present to you, the latest in Pokemon disasters, Pokemon Unite! A "free to start" League of Legends ripoff being developed by the obviously corrupt chinese company, Tencent. That's it. That's all we get. Here is the trailer, which is some of the most tone deaf shit I've ever seen:
Kind of amazing how the beginning of this trailer is so well put together and shows the love and support that people have for this franchise and then The Pokemon Company immediately throws all of that into a grinder. Who in the hell was asking for a Pokemon LoL ripoff from Tencent? I'm gonna guess very few people, maybe like 4 or so. Since this game is "free to start", we know it is going to be filled to the brim with shitty microtransactions. I wouldn't doubt there being plenty of pay to win aspects too.
At this point, I don't know what to think about Pokemon anymore. Sword and Shield, while having some good aspects for sure, was ultimately a pretty lazy and disappointing release with its lack of innovation for the franchise, cut Pokemon, its limp as usual story, ugly visuals and the worst "rival/friend" ever, IE Hop. Since then, we've gotten announcements for things like Pokemon Smile, which is completely pointless, Pokemon Cafe Mix, another "wonderful" mobile game, and Pokemon Snap. Snap is the only good announcement but with how shady this company has been lately, I am now even worried about that one.
There you have it folks. Ultimate disappointment and I didn't even have any expectations to begin with. I actually forgot that there was going to be another presentation like this. Really glad I forgot now. XD

Lunchables
in Forum Lounge
Wow people seem to hate these.
I love the pizza the ones! I tend to get several when they are on sale as they are good as being a simple thing to curb a small appetite. At least for me they do. I am not fond of literally any other Lunchables so maybe it is just my intense love for pizza that is guiding my thought process but the pizza ones are great.
