    I am making decent progress in learning German, for what that is worth. Shame @Mesme Rize isn't around, I could share my progress with him. :c Then he could remind me just how little that progress is in the grand scheme of the language. :P

      I think it boils down to two main reasons: 1. I love the way it sounds, specifically its more harsh sounds with letter combinations such as "ach" and so on. 2. English and German come from the same family, Germanic. That relation makes me more fascinated in German.
