That's what many people near to me seem to think as well... (that its all up to the person to be happy) and it makes me very angry and sad at sometimes. But I also have to say that there is some degree of truth to it. you can make nearly anything depressing. It is harder to make anything happy though.

In terms of myself, I really don't see any positives whatsoever. I have tried finding something, I really have, but by the end of the day, it was futile because nothing is there.

You're still doing it, you're still persisting to find a negative in your life, you've got to work and divert yourself from the path of trying to find something good about your life, and it's not going to help telling yourself there is nothing to be happy about.
