But I am sold on the game, because you can be an explorer and that is what sounds amazing to me, everything else about the game seems awesome.

Yeah, status character limit can be a pain. Context gets skewed. The game really seems fantastic, the combat is just too finicky for my liking, but being able to just be an explorer and explore the galaxy is like a dream come true for me.
