I'm gonna hope you don't die in your sleep. That would be... quite an unfortunate fate especially since you just said that. I mean maybe I'm just morbid but I instantly thought of how ironicly sad it would be...

Zachzab replied to Mint Petal's topic in General Discussion
That is such a win statement. Brohoofing after I post this. I can't believe somebody hadn't said something similar sooner than now [of course, they probably did and I missed it because I'm that much of a hurp-a-durp]. -
I'm not cloning AC, I'm actually changing it quite a bit. I didn't want to deny the fact that I *am* basing the game off it though, so I went ahead and put it in the title. The game just simply wouldn't work in 2D, it has to be 3D, but it can be cel-shaded and such so nothing EXTREMELY detailed is needed. As for my Lua skill, I mean I literally know how to do two different scripts on a game called ROBLOX and that's it. And Dimitri, if you've never heard of this combo of stuff, go look up some pictures, they're amazing, I especially love the ones with original characters ["Ezio Audipone"...]

I was thinking more like how MineCraft is distributed, where it's all online and you can play it for free and stuff but if you want more you have to pay a little bit or something.

So I've been playing a lot of Assassin's Creed lately, I'm currently on Revelations just finished Revelations. I was looking at some art for the game when I saw a TON of MLP art for AC, and I thought it was awesome. After some thinking, because it intrigued me, I decided to create a whole plot for a 'Pony's Creed' RP, but then I thought it'd be better as a game. I know nothing about programming beyond basic Lua, and I'm only a mediocre artist, so I would need a good bit of help to make this. I have most of the story, characters, settings, and mechanics worked out in my head so all I need to do is write it out. My ultimate dream of the perfect way to do this would be to make it singleplayer and multiplayer while having the player be able to customise their 'Desmond'-esque character then have their choices affect what happens to them. There could even be a Doctor Whooves with a TARDIS-Animus combination where the Templars can change history, which would then have to be fixed by the Assassins. The game would have anthropomorphic ponies, not feral like in the show. It just makes more sense. And each type of pony would have pros and cons, such at Earth Ponies being normal and most common, then Pegasi being about 35% weaker but able to fly based on a stamina system and able to grab onto clouds, plus having a lighter body making climbing maybe 10% faster and able to run a bit faster too. Unicorns would have magic also based on a stamina system, but would be slower and not as strong. Now there would also be an unlockable thing for Alicorns, which would be frail and not as good at flying, plus having weaker magic. Of course the Princesses are the exception but they aren't playable. There would be several different time frames in the story, first off there'd be the civilisation as seen in Hearth's Warming Eve prior to the founding of Equestria, with the addition of Griffons as their own kingdom [Viking-like, Nordic], and Changelings [Ancient Russia/China]. Equivalent to before the First Crusade. Discord would be a good guy for this part, and young too. The next time frame would be 50-60 years later with Equestria as a newly founded nation, this would be about Third Crusade [AC1]. Discord would be revealed to be an Assassin at this point, the next in line as leader. Players would have to help him with some assassinations of Changelings trying to take over the throne in disguise. After the last assassination, the Animus will crash, preventing the ending from being revealed just yet. Now comes 200 years later. This is very early Renaissance, and the main idea here is to be about what set up the Pony Renaissance. At the point where it actually is Renaissance, it's revealed Discord has taken over the throne, and he's seeking the Elements of Harmony [the items, not the ponies] to create a 'New World [dis]Order'. Later, your ancestor once your ancestor finds those Elements, each has the life of a much earlier ancestor imprinted on them, not just specific memories like in Revelations. It's essentially a mirror of the Mane Six, but very different. Each one slowly reveals Discord is the leader of the Templars and always has been, and that those Changeling assassinations weren't Changelings at all, but rather the ACTUAL PONIES. Now time goes to 20 years later, and you have to stop Discord. By now, you've rebuilt the Brotherhood, and can launch a full attack on him. At this point, I stopped thinking about more timelines and started thinking on characters, associates, and how to deal with the cast of the TV show. Now the current time in the game, where your Desmond-esque character goes, that's going to be 2009. Technology is not like in the show, it's post-modern. I don't know about the company name, but something related to 'disorder' would be fine. Now for characters that are essentially 'This guy becomes this pony'; -Subject 16 becomes Derpy Whooves. -Rebecca becomes Vinyl Scratch. -Shaun becomes Doctor Whooves. -Probably more, but I tried to be as original as possible. I also have a list of 'collectables' that'll be changed; -Flags become pony themed. -Earth Ponies can collect 'Horseshoes' and 'Zap Apples' -Pegusi can collect 'Pony Feathers' and 'Cloud Fluff' -Unicorns can collect 'Torn Pages' and 'Scrolls' -Alicorns can only collect flags. Now I also thought of some abilities that would be interesting, and changes to normal abilities [such as Eagle Vision]. Some are more reasonable than others; -Eagle Vision: It works in first or third person view, and you can move while using it. Two modes, in one, you have to identify your target manually but everything's nice and clear, not too dark. In the other, everything's dim and dark but your target is already highlighted... if you can see it. -Pinkie Sense: It'd be almost useless unless you play around with it, because you get random character animations that're subtle to signal something about to happen. By "Random", I don't mean "Random" as much as I mean "There won't be a guide for it, and it's different for everybody, so you'll have to write it down for yourself." -Fashion Sense: Essentially it allows you to craft disguises as long as you know what you want to look like. -Wonderbolt: Makes flying take 25% less stamina. -Faithful Student: Makes magic take 25% less stamina. -Probably more later. There's a lot more detail to the story and characters, I'm just not going into massive amounts of description right now, this is already a long post. The multiplayer would be like where Brotherhoods [bronyhoods] could be made like clans or guilds then they do missions, sometimes a co-op mission, and possibly allow players to customise the ancestor's appearance beyond just cloak-dyeing. Now I realise all that is... crazy. I'd need a lot of money to do that fancy multiplayer stuff, servers, lots of stuff. But I hope eventually, it could happen. Now to numbers. I probably need anywhere from 3-6 programmers experienced in 3D animation and simulation and an occasional 'glitchy' feel like an Animus. 2-3 artists, 3D and textures. I can't pay anybody, but if the game gets made, I don't know if donations or something would be a possibility. I'll be doing most of the sound design, not sure about the soundtrack, but possibly. I'll also do most of the 'story' end of the thing, but anyone can help with that, I'm not a greedy writer. Also, I'll be organising everything. The game'll be for PC, but I do want it to be able to be played on an Xbox style controller. If anyone wants to help with something I haven't mentioned [like voice acting], I'll see. I'll honestly take almost all the help I can get.

I do exactly what I normally do. Wake up. School. Computer. Computer. Computer. Eat. Computer. Computer. Sleep. I'm too addicted to the computer to change my life around getting sick, even if I'm miserable.

This is kinda old, it's even before I got my new glasses frames, but I'm too lazy to get my webcam to get a new picture. Maybe once I get my webcam back in this room I'll get a new picture. And yes I'm wearing a headset so you can't see my amazing hair... which is quite long... but I like it that way.

What languages do you know or want to learn?
Zachzab replied to Mint Petal's topic in General Discussion
I spent about a year and a half learning Japanese, so I can understand about 75% of the stuff I hear, but I can't have a conversation. I know a lot of words and could probably teach somebody what I know if they asked. There's a lot of other languages I want to learn, like Hebrew, Russian, Italian, French [France, not Canadian], and Polish. Why? Because nobody would know what I'm saying where I live. -
What is something that you dislike, but everyone else loves?
Zachzab replied to Wubsie's topic in General Discussion
Oh boy. Prepare to kill me for this. I hate people who hate stuff because "Oh, it's mainstream. It must suck" Here's a great example; I love Skrillex. I think he makes good music. Some people hate him JUST BECAUSE he's mainstream. I hate people who say "THIS IS MY FAVORITE [blank]!" Favoritism isn't fair, when somebody goes "[blank] is best pony!" I want to take a chainsaw to their face, because it's essentially saying that every other opinion is wrong, not to mention it makes you look like a really dumb fan. I hate any website designed to make memes. Period. I hate most memes. Period. I hate energy drinks. I hate most Apple products because they're either five times what they should be priced at or they're worthless. I hate people telling me when I do something "Too deep" or "Too complex" or telling me "I'm overthinking something". It makes me want to peel their skin off. I hate Coke about 80% of the time. Why? Because I was drinking one when I had a migraine. If you've ever had a migraine, you'd understand. I hate people who are blindly loyal to a brand or a person without knowing the facts, then telling me I'm stupid because I know they're wrong for assuming something. I hate people who tell me I suck at a game because I don't have the same overpriced items they do. Excuse me if my Team Fortress 2 hats aren't the same as your's, I prefer to spend my money on things that are WORTH IT. I hate it when people tell me games suck "Because you have to pay for them". RuneScape is a great example. I hate it when people tell me something sucks because it's been changed. RuneScape is also a great idea. I THINK IT'S GOTTEN BETTER OVER THE YEARS! TAKE THAT! I hate it when people tell me Facebook games SUCK then they tell me their highscore on Angry Birds. I LOVE FACEBOOK GAMES! MAFIA WARS FTW! I hate Angry Birds. I hate Hunger Games. I hate sugary candy. I hate most animated movies. I hate people who hate Xboxes. I hate the Wii. I hate people who use words or phrases incorrectly, even if it's a popular term. ["I could care less" is the WRONG PHRASE! It's "Couldn't" care less! And saying you're "Swagging over this game" is wrong on SO MANY LEVELS] I hate people who make up new words and go "OMG U DUNT NO DIS WERD?" I h8 ppl hoo typ n abbr all teh tm AND THEN TRY TO CORRECT *MY* SPELLING. I hate people who blindly follow religion and try to turn me to their religion when I've clearly stated my beliefs will not be changing. I hate Republicans. I hate dogs. I hate cats. I hate crayons. I hate most American TV shows. I hate crime or medical shows that're based on "Comedy" or "Romance" I hate anything with the word "Reality", "Legit", "Real", or etc. when it's CLEARLY FICTION. I hate ALL SPORTS. I hate people who say the world will end this year. I hate people who talk about "An afterlife" I hate Internet Explorer. I hate people who say "Dude" or "Bro" every other sentence. I hate people who put a signature everywhere but the signature box and generally act like a PM or forum message is still 17th century England and go like "Dear Zachzab," and "Sincerly, MrMcAwesomesauce1337pwn3r" I hate people who speak in 1337 as if it were an actual language. It's not. It's a dialect of English. -
It was the 2010 NFS:HP, meaning when you turn it on you hear "Edge of the Earth"-30 Seconds to Mars. I like the original GT500 and the Super Snake, especially with the black paint job with the big orange stripe down the middle, or the grey with the black stripe. To hear that roar, even if it's just a game, oh Celestia...

What is your name? Love it or hate it, and why?
Zachzab replied to MLP Nick's topic in General Discussion
L. You could be called L. Daniel means "God's judge", or "Who in the name of God does justice" Now onto my name... which is Zachary Alexander Barber. Thus you get "Zachzab", the "ZAB" being my initials. Humorously enough, no one gets my name right. Ever. I've had magazine companies put "Zackary" "Zachery" "Zackery" even "Zakeri" as my name. EVEN WHEN THEY KNOW MY NAME. And I've only had two people ever refer to me as "Zach" correctly. It really bugged me when I first got Google Chrome that apparently "Zach" isn't even a word by default. I mean... REALLY? Everybody calls me Zach, when gets confusing because I know another Zach, a Zachary, and a Zack. One guy calls me "Zacho" which is the fastest way to tick me off, and I've been called "Zachie/Zachy" a few times, which ticks me off when I don't even like the person who says that to me. Some people call me "Big Zach" or "Awesome Zach" as a way to know they're talking to me and not the other Zach [who know it's a joke when they're called "Little Zach" or "Less Awesome Zach"]. -
I can't believe no one's mentioned that store bought milk is fortified with Vitamin D because that's what helps your body digest calcium and other nutrients found in milk. I'm not sure if other dairy products are fortified, and someone else might have already mentioned it, but I wanted to say this just in case. And also... I drink up to four large glasses of milk every time I have waffles. That's about half a gallon. Same every time I have anything related to candy, even small amounts. And I'm the tallest person in my family, though I have a somewhat short family so that's beside the point. Can't say I'm the thinnest though.

I've never gone to sleep quickly. It always takes 4-5 hours of lying in my bed, the more tired I am the longer it takes. If I'm not tired, it can be as little as three hours. I usually sleep for 12-14 hours and wake up more tired than when I laid down. I usually can completely bypass sleeping if I try hard enough, because I only need two or three hours of it anyway. To NOT be tired, I just have to stay awake long enough. It's so different from most people but it's the only thing I've known. And it sucks. At least I get lucid dreams every few months and most of the time remember MC Escher style dreams. Though the nightmares suck. I mean, SUCK. They're usually David Lynch style with a large portion seemingly derived from Saw, Cupcakes, and Sweet Apple Massacre. And they almost always wake me up, which means I won't be able to go back to sleep. And I've been having those nightmares since I was young enough to remember having them. Hopefully, soon I'll be able to change my sleep schedule to and Uberman-style thing, where you sleep twenty minutes every few hours then wake up. That'll probably help.

writing An outcry of my generation
Zachzab replied to Ferret Girl's topic in Non-Pony Art & Creations
Has anybody thought that eventually everything'll get so bad that it'll shock everyone into realising what went wrong, and course-correcting? Somewhat like "You can get knocked down, but then you can look up." If there's still people that go "Huh. Looks like everyone around me sucks and the world's going all crazy soon"... doesn't that mean that WON'T happen since enough people think the same thing? -
I saw the Shelby and instantly stopped being sleepy. I freaking LOVE THAT CAR HOLY CRAP. Like, the GT500 is just an amazing car in my opinion, 'course I only know it from Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit but still... I like cars, and those drawings are just awesome.

visual art Photos I Took Some Weeks Ago
Zachzab replied to Viscra Maelstrom's topic in Non-Pony Art & Creations
I just have to say, It's almost 3:00 AM here so when I saw the tree with the "Bursting" effect I could've SWORN it was some kind of creature lurching at me. No more Silent Hill music at night for me... BUT IT WAS AWESOME. And those graphics on that game Real Life look so swag, wonder where I can buy it. Oh yeah, those stairs have an awfully futuristic feel for some reason. Like, it pops to me. Might just be the angle.- 30 replies

music my first drum & bass track
Zachzab replied to termenchecks's topic in Non-Pony Art & Creations
I have a nice headset so I can turn the bass up, but yeah I meant to mention that the bass could be a bit higher. Maybe sounding "Tiny" is the point? It's like, it's so tiny, it feels big... like space. There's so little in space, but it's such an infinitely large area... Empty, but there's something still there. Or I'm just digging too deep. -
music my first drum & bass track
Zachzab replied to termenchecks's topic in Non-Pony Art & Creations
Hey that's pretty awesome, maybe if there was another snare sound somewhere in there it'd offset the rather clicky sound of the current snare, like have two different snares in there. But I love the space-string-piano-thing so much... -
I'm glad it wasn't too long, I'm just a bit OCD so I kept looking at other welcome posts and freaking out this one was still 20% longer. The game is supposed to be a large 3D action game, loosely based off Assassin's Creed but I'm changing a lot of stuff about it. It'd have anthropomorphic ponies, since that'd be so much easier to work with. If somebody wants to know more, PM me, I don't want to flood this topic with it [i've worked out... quite a bit of how I imagine the game should run. As in, I could write a book longer than War and Peace about it].

My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Pinkie Pie How did you find MLP Forums?: Googling for a place to post a project I've been working on that I need help with. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: Roleplaying, someone suggested MLP, I had never heard of FiM so I was like "Eh, why not" and just thought "Meh" about it until I watched it on TV five months later, by accident. I was instantly addicted and binged on all the other episodes the next two days. Well first off, if you look at my avatar, that's my pony I made with Generalzoi's pony maker. As in, that's me as a pony. You can't see it very well but the cutie mark's a video game controller, since I'm a pretty hardcore gamer. I love all forms of music and art, and any type of fiction, especially things like MLP where there's so much diversity. That reminds me, I'm a HUGE roleplayer, but I probably won't do much on the forums, I prefer one-on-one. I can roleplay literally almost anything, and in any way too. I'm also one of the most creative person you'll ever meet. I can speak a little Japanese, enough to understand what somebody's saying but not quite enough to have a conversation. Oh, I wish I didn't have to pick a favorite pony. I don't believe in favoratism. They're all great in their own way. I chose Pinkie because she's got Pinkamina... mwuahaha... If anybody wants to know what my project is, it's a video game I need some programmers and artists for, but I don't know where to put a topic about needing people to help me here, and I don't want to put it on a regular game developing site [i need bronies specifically for it]. I find it strange how I managed to make this such a large post. I hope I didn't make it TOO large.
