    Just had to turn a girl's date proposal down. I am kicking myself, because this girl is pretty and nice, but I simply cannot bring myself to like her in a "lovey-dovey" sort of way. I liked her just fine as a friend.

      It is more common than you think, there are two girls that felt that way about me but I didn't really have an interest in aside from friendship and there has been plenty of cases where I felt that way about a girl but she didn't feel that way about me. So I have experienced it from both sides and it is not fun either way.

      Of course she'll be disappointed. But it's not the end of the world. They will still be friends, and in time, she will move on.

       

      Putting themselves in a relationship that is doomed to fail is much, much worse than this person being honest with her.
