  1. Thank you my friend! And I hear you. Drawing involves a lot of masochism to get to the point where you can even start to like what you're doing... at least in my experience. There's like... an invisible trail of angst and excitement and fun and sleeplessness behind my stuff I'm sure :') I think art is a love/hate kind of thing for everyone... but hopefully more love.

And, with that post, you have inspired me to keep drawing, because sometimes it's like i'm the only one that hates their own artwork lol.
  2. I do an ask blog for FW over here: http://ask40winks.tumblr.com

I post my normal (haha) art to my main tumblr: http://uglyfun.tumblr.com

(and i also have a webcomic.. and a deviantart... and an official site and uh... i have way too many sites actually :|)

And if you'd ever like an commission in the future, they're generally open, so there's no rush or anything!

your newest follow is me lol and if i could do art i would have a dA....but alas, i cant take whats in my mind and put it onto paper accurately...ah well.

  3. someone on tumblr asked Forty Winks if her stuffed bat had a name:

What's your tumblr? I would love to check it out, and possibly (probably) follow you :) Also, if I had any money at all, I would commission you to do my OC (once I finally name her lol) In fact, once I have a job, I may just hit you up ;)

  4. I love this. And to be quite honest, I like the scratchy look to it too. That style of artwork and drawing has always had a certain down-to-earth charm for me. I really cannot think of anything I would suggest to make this better. Except maybe, play around with shading and colours. I bet you would do very well with that too :)

  5. You are beautiful, and your art is beautiful :D

I also have my own pony character named Forty Winks!

She is adorable, and I want to hug her and give her some warm milk, lol. Also, she reminds me of Squee. This is Squee.

He's the sort of protagonist of a lovely little johnen vasquez cartoon called Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, and I have the feeling that, if you and NeverPony haven't heard of it, you would both appreciate it

  6. So, guys, these things are working again for me, and to be honest, I don't know why, because I didn't really get around to doing anything. I mean...

-I drew a pentacle on the middle of my floor in a sulfur/salt mixture and placed black candles at each of the points and lit them.

-I offered a small amount of my blood as a sacrifice

-I chanted something in Latin (I'm not really sure what it said)

-The computer screen did some weird things (I think it was the smoke) and then went blank.

-Oh yeah, right before the screen went black, it looked like there was a face, but idk, that might have just been me.

And when I turned it on again, everything worked just fine, if not better than before. So yeah, anyways...

(Lol, but seriously I didn't do a damn thing to get this working again)

  7. hmmm that's a tough one. Despite being interested in the same gender, there are those who are still christian and get accepted that way, though i'm sure it's tough. So maybe the pagan would be the worse one? i dunno lol. I'm personally not religious any but open to all beliefs that any of my friends and family have. I've had a few pagan friends and unless they said so, no one would have guessed they were. Just like any other normal person. But I dunno just how strict ur parents are either lol

Lol, I've never really given my parents room to be strict. They've tried, don't get me wrong, but I've always basically done what I wanted to do, despite what they say, even when I was still living with them. I'm 21 now, and, as far as I'm concerned, they can give their opinions, but they really should know by now that I'm just going to do what I think is best, and not base any of it on what they think is "moral" :P
  8. lol well, my older sister is very christian, so I dunno if she even knows about me being bi or not. I never told her personally but I have a younger sis that likes to talk. When I told my mom, she questioned me a little but wasn't really surprised or anything, she's mostly calm about that stuff. But, within the next couple days she immediately tried setting me up with a girl she worked with XD Wasn't expecting that much lol.

So, I'm kinda jealous of the mom you have, lol. Like I said earlier, my parents are christian, so yeah. But I wonder what they would be more disappointed or angry with: the fact that I'm bi and with a woman, or that I'm a (newly) practicing pagan? hahaha
  9. Homosexuality and atheism is illegal where I come from but I've committed lots of thought crimes all my life here.I totally support what you are doing and I hope that you and your partner will have a happy life in a tolerant environment.

Thank you. And I sincerely hope that the government in your country changes radically for the better soon. That, and/or you are presented with the opportunity to move somewhere more accepting/progressive.
  10. Of course it's okay. It's why I make them. ^^

And yes, I'm actually in the middle of reading Fallout: Equestria. Excellent story so far. I've made a couple of FO:E wallpapers.

Excellent! I'm off to browse your dA account then, hahaha.

I got about halfway through FO: E and then real life had to take over again, lol. I intend to finish it someday though

  11. Downloaded for future wallpaper use (if that's okay). This is beautiful! Are you familiar with the Fallout: Equestria story/ies? If so, you might consider making a balefire phoenix. It's green and gold-ish, rather than the reds and oranges of a normal fire. Wonderful work! :D

  12. I love smashing gender roles B) That said, I drool over motorcycles, especially the deep, throaty motors, ahhh. I'm currently learning how to fight properly (technically they're "Self Defense Classes"). I HATE romantic comedies aka 'chick flicks', and much prefer the very stereotypical "manly" movies like the expendables, wanted, and I seriously can't think of any others at the moment. Ummmm, I know that sexuality has NOTHING to do with personality and "masculine/feminine", but I do prefer women to men in that context. I suppose I would hang out with guys more often, but I find that GENERALLY SPEAKING they tend to be unintentionally misogynistic and the feminist me hates that.

Oh yeah, and I am fully capable of working on my own damn car! :P

  13. Good advice, i'll have to remember that.

Although my parents are pretty down-to-earth, and they support gay rights.

I still don't like them though. All the more reasons for me to move!

Breaking out of family systems is tough, but totally worth it. Also my parents are conservative christians.... Coming out to them is TERRIFYING.
  14. Oh god, i can see why that would be so scary.

Being bisexual, i may actually have to eventually do that.

i'm kinda scared no too. D:

welp, that just means i'm moving out of oklahoma

Yeah, and, as bisexual, it automatically means we're 'greedy', or 'confused', or 'promiscuous' etc etc etc. I think I'm going to wait until I'm a little less financially dependent on my parents to tell them, just in case the worst should happen lol
  15. This just me, sitting in oklahoma.

    (also known as republican hell)

It seriously just makes me die inside every time i see a anti-gay rights ad.

    God i hate tulsa.

Yeah, same here. My girlfriend laughs at the anti-gay rights ads, because they're so obvivously ridiculous in their logic (or lack thereof), but I'm always reminded that people believe them, and we still can't get married and I still get panicky when thinking about coming out to my parents.

Lol well, I heard things about Denver. Even years ago before I was born, my mom told me how Denver had gay bars and even parades. I'd have thought if they were that open back then, that they'd be leading the way as well. Who knows, maybe Denver is still in the top 5

I'll have to look it up now, cause you got me curious :) Maybe I can find a list of the top 10....
  16. @Sugarfree314

That's awesome, I didn't picture Ohio to be up in the #2. I have no idea where Kansas stands, but as it is now I don't think they allow marriages for it yet. Outside of the few bigger cities here, it's mostly old fashioned kind of people, and plenty of farmers/agricultural people. I'm bi myself but have yet to have a girlfriend around here.

Technically, it's just the city of Columbus that is progressive. They've just started to provide domestic partnerships toward the end of August  , but Ohio overall is kind of just in the middle as far as politics go. It's a swing state in just about every election.
  17. I'm currently living in the Columbus, Ohio area. In Reynoldsburg, to be exact. It's wonderful, because Columbus is the #2 LGBT-friendly city in the US, second to San Francisco (obviously). This means that I can hold my girlfriend's hand in public and not have to worry about getting comments or disgusted stares from complete strangers, like it was when we lived in Bumfuck (Warsaw), Indiana.

  18. Very beautiful and elegant. I love the elvish style. Her torso is very long and thin, and strikes me as just a bit disproportional, to be honest. It's wonderful work overall, though. Lightyears ahead of what I could hope to do, anyway.

  19. Oh god yes.and it wasn't just the cross cleave. it was the fact that the cross cleave was only the FIRST ATTACK in a string of attacks. he would do CC, then lance of entropy if one of your chars actually survived CC (which zombifies one character which means healing spells actually kill you instead of healing you) then would cast all heal (or whatever the big healing spell was) on the zombified one.

YUPP! I spent so much time just screaming at my tv "HOW CAN YOU GET 568451364 TURNS IN A ROW? YOU CHEAT, SEYMOUR!!!" Lol I probably still have the damn cutscene right before that battle memorized, I had to watch it so many times....
  20. Do you have a young sibling or cousin that you would be willing to chaperone (in costume) for trick-or-treating? Doing that is great, it's a free pass to go door-to-door and not have to worry about your age, cause you're just going with li'l bro or sis! Also, most of the people giving out candy will share with the chaperone, in the mindset that you have a hundred other, "better" things you could be doing. ;)

  21. Bahaha it reminds me of me in school, too! Except male. And I'll get about 3/4 of the way through those collective assignments and pull a Rarity...

    Posted Image

...and throw myself on the nearest couch and have this despairing mental breakdown, convinced I'm an absolute failure and can produce nothing better than a pile of horseshit.

Then, I proceed to gather myself again, and finish said assignments, shitty or not. By this time it's about 5 am and I've consumed enough caffeine to kill a small dog.

BUT YES! The frantically typing pony you drew is excellent, and very relatable, lol.

  22. This is lovely. I must imagine that being banished to the moon cannot be ALL bad. I've always found that watching the celestial (no pun intended) bodies ie planets, stars, moons, to be peaceful as well as awe-inspiring. I hope to see more art from you in the future!
