  1. Spare us your martyr complex. All it ever tells anyone is just how how far you head is up your hind quarters. This would be self-evident to you if you had even the slightest ability for self-awareness or reflection. Honesty is no pass for having terrible ideas and even less of an excuse for keeping them. Maybe if you were honest with yourself maybe you'd stop and think about whether or not we might have a point -- that maybe the feedback you get could have something useful in it.
  2. Hola. ¿"Nosotros," quién? :P

Ah. Thought you'd be a native speaker. Was wondering if you might be from Spain or Lat Am.

Nah, I’m not native. Just taking a high school class on Spanish. Really enjoying it, though! :D

  3. Does Griffonstone even fall under Equestria's rule? I don't think it does. We know from the Crystal ponies showing PTSD-like symptoms just from remembering him and then mind controlling Crystal Ponies to fight the Equestrian army in the King Sombra timeline clearly tells us that King Sombra is a pretty bad dude. He didn't even bother hiding his malevolence. Eh, it's too bad I don't have the time to go through the thing right now so I'll just leave it at this: It's true that Equestria is more dangerous than it looks. They have monsters that could straight-up eat ponies (Everfree Forest) or that would threaten the integrity of Equestria as a society (NMM, Discord, King Sombra, Queen Chrysalis, etc.).
  4. @BronyNumber42licious If your appearance is any bit as cringy as your character has shown itself to be, I really cannot blame her for her lack of interest in you. Doesn't surprise me either that you're over 40 and had no luck -- though it's very clear by now that bad luck had nothing to do with it. @Justin_Case001 Life's harsh. You know it, I know it. If you have even one scientific bone in your body, you'd understand by now that life is an agonizing struggle to survive with there being an infinite amount of events and objects that will either kill you or make the case that the phrase "Hell on Earth" is redundant. What it comes down to is Evolution. Whether we speak of animals that defy our notions of what's possible in regards to speed, strength, durability, determination or intelligence and sophistication, they all evolved that way out of sheer necessity. The same logic applies to extremophiles that manage to live in environments that by our imagination are down-right alien. Now what do all these evolved species have in common? They adapted to their environment instead of the other way around. Hearing you complain about all of this, it sounds to me like you wish for the world to adapt itself to your perceptions. If that's your modus operandi in life, you are already doomed. Take a hint from all the species that are still with us on this planet: Adapt! Does this mean you have to discard who you are? Not really. Life exists in many forms, shapes, sizes and behaviors. What this means is that you could still mold yourself into a well-adapted person that is still quintessentially you. Make no mistake: this takes relentless effort and focus but seeing as you're 30 already, you're going to want to put in as much time as you can. It really is like hacking into your own being and programming yourself into something that functions better in this life. Oh and do avoid going into defeatist rabbit holes like BN42 up there. It may give your suffering a sense of validation but it guarantees your suffering just as well. Believe that you can adapt, be humble in admitting you do not know where this will lead you and be fearless as to move ahead with it regardless. Understand that this is a learning curve and it's going to be absolutely frustrating at first -- that's just normal. Where you go from there is up to you. I can't know what a well-adapted you is like. Heck, you might not even like what you see yourself becoming but at some point, you know you can't do anything but say "fuck it, what else am I to do?" Another thing: you're more likely to find interesting clues in places you least want to look at. This could include things like meditation or just anything you might think is "beneath" you. Hopefully this is helpful for getting you started. Where you go next is entirely up to you. Good luck and may your wounding struggles lead you to a better and more meaningful place. You're not expected to get there in one piece.
  5. And I totally called it. Didn't think it'd be in the OP, however. There's no escaping politics these days. --- Bueno, I'm just being patient with it. Every time I hear about a date for a new episode, it feels like the inter-season hiatus went by really fast. Part of me still can't believe that the season premiere is coming this soon, I feel. Not that I'm complaining of course. The trailer did its job, though: it got me curious. If there's anything I'm worried about, it's that it'll be the same old shtick with different characters. I'd like for the writers to pursue greater risks for greater rewards for this season. That'll probably mean we'll get a number of bad if not terrible episodes but hopefully there will be those few very stellar episodes that'll come to define the season. The bad episodes will eventually fade from memory anyway.
  6. Could have named it to "share your feels." That'd be much more accurate. Emotions also encompass fear, guilt, shame, anger, hatred, axiety, mortification -- in addition to the happy ones such as love, joy, satisfaction, contentedness, triumph, determination, etc.
  7. No matter the darkness you encounter in the world, the one that scares you the most is the one inside yourself.

  8. Hm, I would personally suggest there be an option in users' personal settings to render the Debate Pit invisible. I've seen this option implemented at another MLP community and it appears to work quite well to reduce toxicity. Users who feel like they cannot cope with the DP but lack the self-restraint to just avoid it could choose to make it invisible. Is this an agreeable enough proposal?
  9. You could blame your parents for not respectively picking a partner of a different skin color since your own existence is their doing, essentially. So then why blame yourself when it's your parents' fault? /sarcasm Come now, do you even know what the word "guilt" means? In this context, it's about the feeling of having done something wrong. What did you do to be born a white heterosexual male? Heck, what did you do to be born at all? Though I have to say that if I wanted to torture someone long after they've left the torture chamber, I would convince them to feel guilty of something they have absolutely no control over. It does raise the question whether or not whoever convinced you had this nefarious plot to make you feel sour for the rest of your life. It does seem to be working. Implying random people care about your existence any more than you seem to care about your own. Funny. But hey, as long as it convinces you that your existence is more relevant than it actually is. Doesn't that make you feel special even if in a morbid way? Tell me something. What would you do if a black person came out and proclaimed to hate their skin color? Be honest now. Let me guess, without that guilt, you'd be empty-handed, wouldn't you? Being all guilty sucks but at least it isn't nihilism. Guilt gives you this illusion of responsibility, this illusion that your life has any meaning whatsoever, making you see yourself as more significant than you actually are. All this talk about being white, pansexual, non-binary... Have you really nothing else going for you? The judges for mental gymnastics are in: People who tell you that don't know what they're talking about. Racism is about judging a person by only their race -- individuality be damned. It won't matter how good a person you are, you'll always be evil because you're white. On the other hand, it also won't matter how malevolent a psychopath you are who cannot refrain from skinning kittens alive to save your life, you'll always be a victim in need of compassion because you're [insert oppressed race here]. Racism cuts both ways, you see. If I wanted to make you suffer more, all I would need to do is entrench your biases and watch as the avoidable suffering that comes with your warped ideas makes you hate life with ever-increasing intensity.
  10. If I were to put my feelings and outlook on life right about now, this fits to a T.

I'm not in a spot I want to be in for long but for the moment, I can bide my time and pull myself together -- or at least keep myself from falling apart any bit more. Things could still be a lot worse, though, so I'm not complaining.

  11. Rules are pretty simple. Look to the previous post for the pony fan art put up and pick a song to go along with it. After that, post fan art yourself for the next user to do the same. I'll put up the first pony fan art Have fun!
  12. 8/10 - Pretty nice (I get the feeling that a lot of orchestral brony fan music play like this.)
  13. "Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one." - Bruce Lee
  14. It applies to all fanbases, really. There's nothing strange about it at this point. These people exist and will continue to exist.
  15. If G4 is going to end, I'd just like it to end on a high note. As for G5, I'll give it a chance. Maybe this'll turn out good, maybe it won't. If I don't think G5 is worth watching, I'll just move on and no hard feelings.
  16. You'll either laugh or have nightmares. Video in Spanish.
  17. The fringes tend to be more vocal. If you want real answers, you're going to have to do anonymous polling. One anecdote I can bring up is this polling EqD had about how liked Starlight Glimmer is. Turns out people were surprised that Glim-Glam was generally well-received despite all the bad-mouthing going around. Going on purely from memory, there was this political compass polling done a few years back and it showed most consistently people leaning Libertarian on the Authoritarian-Libertarian axis but there was more variation on the left-right side of it.
  18. Stay detached from the fanbase and the "opinions" of insufferable drama queens looking to put other people down to feed their egos.
  19. 29°C with 30 km/h winds. The winds come from the sea so it feels pretty cool (relatively speaking) when the wind blows.
  20. Christmas is the only time of year I'd keep the radio on. The folk Christmas songs are nice to listen to and the more international songs tend to be those timeless classics. Wonderful!
  21. I really wish the title was as subtle as the song itself.
