  7. Heh. It used to. But not anymore. The thing is, stress can actually be exciting when you welcome the adrenaline rush. That really makes all the difference between suffering from stress and relishing in it.
  8. Winter will be arriving and with that, so too will the time come to turn up the heat to prevent freezing to death. There are different ways to stay warm for the season. There are electric heaters and heat pumps that use electricity to do the warming, there's natural gas, propane and butane (often classified as Hydrocarbon Gas Liquids or Liquefied Petroleum Gas), heating oil and solid fuels like wood and charcoal. It'd also be interesting to know why one might make their choice such as purchase and installation price, lifetime cost, cleanliness and reliability. Do take note that I'm asking for your preferred primary mode of heating. I did hear about households that use solar collectors to supplement their heating but that's just it: it's a supplement. I've also heard of geothermal heat pumps. Those still need electricity to run. Since I live in a tropical climate, I can't answer this poll myself. As for why I brought this up, energy is a topic I'm interested in and my curiosity is getting the better of me. Ultimately, I thought it best to lump in biofuels as they too can be solid, liquid or gaseous. Refined biogas (biomethane), for example, is indistinguishable from natural gas. In some places around the world, refined biogas simply gets mixed in with natural gas. EDIT: Fixed the poll. Sort of. It'll do. I just hope it works.

  13. Cozy, oh Cozy. You turned out to be more cunning than I thought. You did pretty good as a villain. You used that silver tongue of yours quite well. Unlike other villains, you felt quite real, though more so had you been a teenager at the very least. Why? Because people like you do exist. I know, of course, because I had the misfortune to have known someone just like you. Sure, he may not be at the same level of delusion as you so he had less ambitious goal but your methods and your competence really cut through bone. Delicate things like skin, muscle and tendon can hardly impede such sharp wits, let alone the arteries and capillaries that bring life to our flesh. I say this as someone who not only accepts but even celebrates some of the grotesque manifestations humanity and the world they inhabits have to offer. But by forcing me to relive such a turbulent part of my life, you've shown me what a hypocrite I am. Why should I revel in the monstrous display that is humanity and life itself but shake in my boots whenever it breathes down my neck, my flesh? You've shown me now that I must celebrate my own misfortune if I am to revel in others. After all, I would be a fool to think that I can hide from its clutches as I watch it devour all else. I will get my turn and I shall welcome it with open arms. For every misfortune I assimilate in my being, I will grow stronger so long as I breathe. That was cathartic. I needed that. I'll have to watch this finale one more time and hopefully my mind won't go to places it shouldn't. Have a nice day.
  14. Some time before the season started, I said I wanted the writers to take on more risks or get more ambitious. In doing this, there's a chance you'll get some very exceptional episodes at the cost of many other episodes being hit or miss at best. And you know what? This did it. This is the kind of episode that makes me willing to endure an entire season of underwhelming episodes. They say to be careful what you wish for but as far as I'm concerned, my wish is officially granted! I give this episode a 10/10. If there was no story arc this season, I would've been quite content with this being a season finale (a show finale would be pushing it but it's not too far off).
  15. My autocorrect is US English and I can't be bothered to change it. However, I will always think of British English as "proper English" Anyone want tea?
  16. You're young, so I'll be nice. If anything, listen to your father. He seems to be the most clear-headed here. I'll go further than that and say he'd make a good role model for you. I think you should consider talking to him more and try to understand what he has learned so far in his life. Just keep in mind that he isn't perfect -- only that he has more life experience than you. Certainly, he would have much to teach you. I think you would do well to strive towards becoming independent. Your priorities seem to be misplaced as it seems you place MLP ahead of becoming independent. By independence I mean generally being able to take care of yourself. This can mean having your own income, your own home, etc. Ultimately, Starlight isn't going to bring food to your table or a roof over your head or pay rent or electricity or heating. Another thing about work that people don't seem to tell anyone these days is that you get more than just money. Perhaps more importantly is learning work ethics. The younger you are when you learn this, the better off you'll be later on. Right now, it does't seem like you're asking the hard questions about what you want to do in your life. That's not something you want to be procrastinating on. Right now, it seems like ponies and Starlight are the center of your life. This might feel good now but it won't carry you through life. I don't think you intend on growing old with MLP and Starlight plushies and other merchandise. I suggest you start thinking hard about what kind of a life you can lead where you'll be happy. It might help to talk to your father about it. Again: do not procrastinate on this. You might be 17 now but you'll be 20 before you know it, then it becomes 25 and then 30. You do not want to be lost, confused and alone at that age. It only gets worse as you get older. That is why I want you to understand that the time to act is now. Get out there, make some mistakes, learn from them, repeat. It might be embarrassing to fail at things now but people are more forgiving when that person is 17 than when that person is 30. Something else I should throw in here -- since you have Asperger's Syndrome, to my understanding, it means you have difficulties understanding social signals. Something I can tell you here is that you should pay attention to how people express themselves when they interact with you or other people. Listen to the tone of their voice, pay attention to the emotions on their face or any other movements they make as they interact. The thing is, social interaction is a life skill and will prove to be important. Asperger's Syndrome just means you'll have to figure out how you'll learn that skill. I'm feeling bold so tell you what, copy this post, show it to your father and ask him what he thinks. By the way, if you need some help with English words, you can use Wiktionary or the Polish version Wikisłownik. As a non native English speaker myself, it has helped me tremendously.
  17. @bornAgainEquestrian Hm, I think I see where you political leanings are. Even if this was the place to press on, you're not in the camp I'm after. You're quite vulnerable, I see. Perhaps unnecessarily so. You seem to think that there would be less suffering in the world if only people were better than they actually are. Heh. I think you want to love people but find yourself unable to do so given what you might have been put through. If people would just take care of each other, there would be no need to use any force to defend anyone or anything, wouldn't it? Your debating skills could also use some work. The best you did there was setting the goal but the strawmen made it look like you were determined to not understand what I was trying to get through. If anything, it's at best a pretty underhanded way to try and control the conversation but very often it just ends up hurting your case. Sincere as you may be, you would do well to hone your skills. All that the former does is push you in a certain direction and gets you to suffer the trials, tribulations and failures necessary to move forward. It's a learning process and all learning processes are grueling, especially at the beginning. You would do well to become stronger, wiser. It seems like you might have some experience with being put under fire but you could have done a lot better to deflect me there. You are going to have to grow some teeth if you hope to defend not just yourself but everything you stand for. You know, I'd be willing to give you a couple of pointers on how to be more prepared to deflect your opponents when put under fire. That would have to go through PM, though.
  18. I just have a morbid sense of humor. Or it sounds like I'm just parroting snide comments about mental disorders you've read online. How else would it occur to you to make such a comparison? Much of your post can be condensed to just this and you know what? We're very much in agreement here. This is far from being exclusive to bronies. Moving on. Jumping the gun there, aren't you? Yeah. Same could be said about smoking, coffee, extreme sports, shopping, even just eating. All of those are potentially addictive behaviors but not everyone is as susceptible. There's an interesting word: susceptibility. Susceptibility is what separates the moderate drinker from the alcoholic, the regular coffee drinker from the caffeine addict, the occasional smoker from the nicotine addict. Susceptibility varies individual to individual but the most susceptible individuals are often those under some heavy chronic stress -- so much so that they find no joy in their lives because their alertness gets them sleuthing for threats. Can't stop to smell the roses when your body thinks something's out there to get you. The point of my entire post was that Hasbro look into exploiting high-susceptibility individuals for increased revenue. Some might be extreme enough high-susceptibility individuals who might go so far as to meet armed street thugs and sell house and home to get their next fix. Seeing how the dots are connecting? As I've said in my previous post: Looking back in my post, I was basically describing these "high-susceptibility individuals" in morbid detail and I had quite a bit of fun doing so Who said I wished for anyone who doesn't agree with me to be put in a psychiatric ward? If people are too stubborn to adapt to their environment, then they deserve the pain that they bring upon themselves because of it. It's also much more amusing to see someone do the same thing over and over again but expect a different result. It's one thing for some misfits to band together to validate their egos and another thing for them to work together and work together to get a firm foothold in a society that rejects them. Seriously, though, this desperate craving for "warm fuzzy feelings" from the external world is precisely the problem. A resilient person can find such feelings from within -- at lest that would be the high bar. The lowest bar is to have an extensive network of sources for "warm fuzzy feelings" so that everything therein can be taken in moderation. It's called having a balanced life.
  19. Dang, I was actually rather impressed. Feels like it's been forever since I've seen characters struggle earnestly rather than fall into some plot-advancing drama.
  20. I need only two words to dismantle this argument: Soft Power. Even if these other creatures do become stronger because of friendship (not even sure how that works) it won't come without a price. Equestria isn't just bringing friendship to these other creatures, Equestria is bringing their friendship first and foremost. Soft power is all about getting the other party to want what you want. Forging good relations in a manner as seemingly unilateral as the ponies are doing really isn't giving the other creatures much wiggle room for setting the conversation. If Equestria plays their cards right, they could even assimilate these other creatures eventually and, in the best case scenario, by their own consent. "Irrational" would be putting it very generously. Given what I've just said, the only party that could be said to have a conspiracy would be Equestria. If anything, Neighsay should be some other creature paranoid of Equestria subverting their way of life with "friendship," not the other way around. If Neighsay truly cared about Equestria's "way of life," he should be overjoyed at the idea of "converting" other creatures. In the extreme case, it could eventually turn these other kingdoms into de facto colonies.
  21. Then wouldn't the smart thing to do be to make allies with them before a real threat does? So far it seems like Equestria is on the path of forming good diplomatic relations with these other creatures. Their leaders are either on board or are getting on board with the ponies. After that, it'll be a matter of winning the hearts of their people. Why risk ruining these relations and possibly turn these creatures against Equestria like Neighsay did in the season premiere? If there is a real threat out there, the time for Equestria to make allies is now! Is Neighsay also forgetting who is teaching friendship here? Ponies! Honestly, Neighsay's xenophobia wouldn't be so annoying if there were some actual strategic value to it. He's making a conflict where there wasn't one in the first place. In fact, he's getting in the way of forging good relations with these other creatures.
  22. It's Querch. Not really an MLP OC but more of a ponified OC. He's originally from an original universe I never went anywhere with. That said, he's a very old character and it's been over a decade since his inception. This ponification isn't a "true" ponification because it isn't his actual color scheme. His real color scheme is unnatural and would make it clear that he's a demon of sorts -- which he indeed is. You could call this altered color scheme a disguise. As for what kind of demon he is, he is a tormentor. Because he's a rogue demon, he does things his way. Children are off-limits but adults are fair game. The older his victim, the more ruthless he gets. Wisdom and discipline of the mind will give his victim some immunity to him. Enlightenment gives the victim total immunity to him. As for the picture itself, it's a commission. Hope this was interesting.
  23. Yeah, just look back on Episode 13 and see how well that worked out for Queen Chrysalis. They're called the Elements of Harmony for a reason. If just one of the bearers do not possess genuine generosity, kindness, etc, the Elements are rendered ineffective. What's more, the EoH only worked on NMM and Discord because they were corrupt. Granted, we've never seen the EoH used on innocent ponies. Again, either Neighsay knows something about the EoH that we do not or he is plain stupid to think that the EoH could be used against Equestria. Hm, he did add tension to the situation. Still, he's setting the bar really low as far as MLP villains go. A villain is supposed to do more than just add tension here and there. Other villains have done way more to challenge the Mane 6. Neighsay is just being a nuissance. Whether or not he'll sink lower than Chrysalis in Episode 13 remains to be seen. Pfeh, I'll just have to wait and see if Neighsay will indeed turn out to the the broken record of empty controversy in 2018.
  24. Neighsay is looking pretty one-dimensional here. Neighsay: "Hey. Look. I'm a xenophobe. Hate me. Or just notice me." How do you manage to be an even less interesting antagonist than Fim and Flam? That's... kind of an achievement in itself. And what was this about other creatures using friendship as a weapon against Equestria? I'd say he's senile but he has yet to explain himself in any detail whatsoever. That'll probably come in the finale. Here's hoping he'll be something far less annoying than a broken record. EDIT: Oh, forgot to put this little cherry on top. You see, you could have cut Neighsay from the episode without adjusting much of the script, let alone disrupt the plot.
