  1. Edit: I'm not actually asking for critique - though, sure, comment anything you like - I just thought you had to chose either 'no critique' or 'critique wanted', and now I can't get rid of it.

Hey, I just thought if that if I'm gonna be active on here anyway, I might as well take the time to post some artwork. Also, if you want to avoid the stringent feedback rules here and tell me what worthless garbage I really am, I invite you to my Derpibooru account. :derp:

Most of my stuff centers around fanfic ideas I had long ago but never made anything out of. What follows is a bunch of OCs from those stories - and I also tried my hand at turning one of the many scenes I've imagined into a comic page, albeit poorly. Pacing is hard.

Here's a question: Why are there even days named after Norse gods in the first place?

I've never heard any mention of the god Tyr (for whom Tuesday is named) in FiM.

Why are they called the Cutie Mark Crusaders, unless there's been Christian religious wars?

  3. It's not every day you hear people asking for more male representation.

But no, I don't care either way. What I would like to see, are more prominent recurring characters. I think MLP has been very good about this already, but I want an even more prominent secondary cast - not every episode has to be about the main characters, and for a show about friendship, I think it would be interesting to explore the dynamics of different overlapping groups of friends.

  4. None of them. Ponies all the way.

Also, while we're on the subject, Sunset fills me with existential despair. She was a grown-ass mare and a wizard, and she gave that up to become a high school bully and a let's player. Running away from Equestria makes some kind of sense - she was pretty pathetic back then - but staying? Forgetting how to function like a pony after a couple of years? Disturbing.

    John DeLancie studied this extensively,

Alright, hold on, let's get real. DeLance doesn't study anything, he just reads what's on the script.

I believe it came from here.

The Swagberg video really is one of the greatest, though. The beginning of the fandom really was a different time.

  6. I was into cartoons for twenty years before Bronies became a thing. "Bronydom" has always sounded to me more like a lifestyle choice than anything - lord, if I had to get a new title every time I found a show I liked, I'd have lost track ages ago.

That said, I've watched the show since the first season, I've enjoyed a lot of fan content and I do make fan art, , so I can't protest too much.

  7. I'm not sure. Historically, most Americans I've spoken to have told me I sound British, and most Brits have told me I sound American. I never made an effort to copy any particular variant of English, but I'm sure my Swedish accent shines through on occasion.

That being said, I'm perfectly aware of the fact I normally put an "A" at the end of many English words. Both that and the effort (and please, don't get me started about accents!) I put while pronouncing words make me sound like a typical Italian who attempts to speak English as best as he can!

Fascinating. I know an Italian who used to have a pretty thick accent, but he never sounded anything like the stereotype (disappointingly :P) - in fact, his accent was almost identical to that of an Iranian guy I also knew at the time. Is it a regional thing, do you think?

  8. I didn't realize it was a real movie for like a week, because the animation made me think it was a fan-made parody. The textures are weird, the facial expressions are stiff and weird I'm stunned that Nintendo signed off on something like this. It looks like it was made on a budget of five dollars and some pocket lint - and I love it. This is gonna be the first movie I see in theaters in some time. I want this movie to make towering mounds of cash, and bring more weirdness to the mainstream.

  9. Back in the day, I played Pokémon Red for thousands of hours. I caught and experimented with multiple Missingnos, and since nothing happened immediately, I just kept them around. But of course, one day I turned on my gameboy to find my years-old save gone, knowing that there was no way I was gonna be able to recreate all of that.

  10. Well, you know, they kept the seat warm during the 70s, and in the 80s and 90s, they gave us such gems as Richie Rich, The Smurfs, Pirates of Dark Water, 2 Stupid Dogs, Super Secret Secret Squirrel, and last but definitely not least, The Powerpuff Girls - a show that survived both Hanna-Barbera the company, and Hanna and Barbera themselves.

But yeah, the Scooby-Doo clones are terrible.

  11. Well, uh, I explained sex to my kindergarten class when I was six years old, so there's that.

I should probably have included: I'd learned to read properly a couple of months earlier, and in the local library, the biology books with all the colourful diagrams were just across the aisle from the comics.
