  1. No. I grew up the child of poor, miserable parents, and I would never put a child through that. Not only that, but I feel like in raising a child, I'd be constantly struggling against a society where child rearing attitudes are based almost entirely on tradition and holy cows, as opposed to any genuine concern for the children's well-being and future prospects.

  2. From morning on day one, to early afternoon on day three. I had a lot of money and zero obligations, oversight or companionship for the first time in my life, so I did all sorts of dumb crap just because there was no one to stop me. After the second sleepless night, I kinda stopped feeling anything at all, so I gave up and went to sleep.

  3. Well, I watched the old 80s ponies as a small child, and I watched it like I would any other cartoon.

As for gen 4, I started hearing about during its first season, and I was like, "Lauren Faust made this? Well, Powerpuff Girls is the best thing ever, so let's give it a shot". It turned out to be the best flash animation I'd ever seen, and overall a better cartoon than anything else on at that point. The 00s was a desolate wasteland of animation, so I watched on with curiosity and fascination.

...Although the first time I searched for 'new mlp', I accidentally found some sleepover episode from season 3 or whatever, and I couldn't believe people actually liked that stuff. It was a few days later that I found some pictures of the show and went on a new search.

  4. I took a gap year, but not willingly. I went to something called the International Baccalaureate, ended up with too few points in drama, and had to wait an entire year until I was allowed to resubmit my final paper for drama class. It was a miserable year, all told, although not quite as bad as actually going to college turned out to be.

Make your own choices, kids, don't let your parents decide your schools for you.

digital art always looks the same.

Oooh, if only. I have three screens, and the colours on each one are messed up in their own unique ways. The drawing tablet has the most messed up colours of all, so I'm always in for a surprise when I save a picture and check it out on my main screen. :P

The extreme focus of the tv show has only been going on for the 8 years that FiM fans have manifested (so it's not really 'normal' by the standards of fans who came before). Please try to understand that.

Yes, but those aren't really comparable. The new wave of pony fans were people who got into a quality cartoon, while the old fans were toy collectors. They're not really the same fandom in any way that matters. Completely different interests.

I do feel the pain, though. Twist was never seen again after season one...
