  1. Beautiful OC!

  2. The day I opened my eyes and realized the beauty of the unknown was a day of liberation.

Aye, the unknown is the greatest sight of all.

  3. Given my recent hiatus, I feel it would be appropriate to give an update of where my thoughts currently stand in relation to the topic of this thread. Unlike some of my previous posts, I'll be more open and honest here. Forum Member Crush: Nature of Fluttershy (aka Mellifluous)* Pony Crush: Sunset Shimmer IRL Crush: None currently * My perspective as to what a "crush" is differs from what most people think of it (i.e. infatuation).
  4. Been feeling a little despondent lately. I want to meet sensible, interesting, inquisitive people like myself; people who are eager to venture out to the horizon into the peaceful solitude of nature, people who are willing to live life to fullest (in the sense of finding intellectual, spiritual, and wholesome fulfillment). I have yet any luck in coming across such people in the daily affairs of my life. There are plenty of interesting people on here; however, communication with them via two-dimensional means alone is simply not gratifying enough for me. I want to have the pleasure of shaking the hands of such people and perchance sitting together at the breakfast table engaging in lively discussions. That's the kind of experience I would want.
  5. Happy birthday. Hope things have been going good for you and your lady.

  6. I've rarely seen blue eyes with that kind of unique sapphire tint. <3
  7. Good night and try not to die in your sleep <3

  8. Wow! The falls are beautiful. I've been to a number of waterfalls before, but I've never seen anything quite like this. What I wouldn't give to be there and to be in awe of such a glorious scene. How long ago were you there?
  9. Washington is definitely one of the "must see states" on my bucket list. The natural reserves from what I've heard are breathtaking. The weather is also cool all year round. *sighs* Sounds like a place I'd truly call "home."
  10. From your second sentence alone, you have just earned my friendship. In all seriousness, it takes some time before I actually consider someone as a friend but you've definitely made a good first impression so far. I've always wanted to visit Oregon. I'd love to see the Cascades up there as well. It's just right above my home state.
  11. Kansas has the best coffee out there? Never would have guessed.
  12. Freedom of Speech or Freedom of Choice. If you could only go with one, which would you choose?

None. Freedom is radical word. Freedom should stop, where our actions or words can hurt other person.

Freedom is, at best, an illusion.

Freedom of choice. Freedom of speech is nothing but a scam. People abuse it to their own good.

  13. Wow, didn't even recognize you at first.

  14. Unfortunately, blunt people may often come off as rude to sensitive people. I have "offended" a handful of people in various online debates in which I considered their anecdotal claims as bullshit. Because honestly, I find anecdotes irrelevant when it comes to intellectual discussions ... That's just me. Gotta love freedom of speech. Anyway, back to the topic. If anyone on here is from southern California, I will buy you coffee (if you want) if we ever meet. xP
  15. I'll be sure to read about your experiences. Now going back to what you said here: Well, let's ignore the Code of Hammurabi and focus on the main questions. What you are saying has also been said by Plato and Taoists centuries before Jesus was born. "One should never do wrong in return, nor mistreat any man, no matter how one has been mistreated by him." ~ Plato (424/423 - 348/347 BC) "The sage has no interest of his own, but takes the interests of the people as his own. He is kind to the kind; he is also kind to the unkind: for Virtue is kind. He is faithful to the faithful; he is also faithful to the unfaithful: for Virtue is faithful." ~ Tao Teh Ching, Chapter 49 Surely people who follow their teachings would be just as well off without ever knowing Jesus Christ, correct? So morality, ethics, and teachings of love and mercy predate Christianity, as I have shown you here with the famous quotes above. I'd just really like to know your thoughts on this.
  16. To hell with all of you. I say this with love <3

      It's supposed to be ironic.

  17. Yep. It seems like that, at least in my experience. I'm beginning to realize that I tend to be more blunt online than in real life. I should add that I like people who can be blunt. Because people who can be blunt, can be real with me. No bullshit. I like that.
  18. So I noticed this one member's thread about how he would like friends, and I thought I'd make a similar thread. I'm doing this out of boredom. My summer vacation has also just started so I figure I could spend some of the free time getting to know new people. Where to start ... well, I'm nice and I like nice people. I also like awesome people. Um ... if you love nature, we will instantly get along. I love nature. Nature lovers are awesome. So ... that's it. xP
  19. Apparently, bluntness is offensive? Is this culture becoming more sensitive or is it just me?

    1. LongGoneGr

      LongGoneGr

      I dunno about that.

But bud, I missed you and want to talk for a minute.

Some people get offended by everything nowadays :/

Even if it wasn't meant to be offensive in the first place.

Depends on what you describe as bluntness...

  20. I appreciate your input. If Jesus Christ never existed and Christianity never become the widespread religion that it is today, surely our contemporary understanding of morality would not be negatively affected, right? You do acknowledge that morality and ethics have existed long before the Judeo-Christian Religions came about, right? Take for example, the Golden Rule: "Do to others what you want them to do to you. This is the meaning of the law of Moses and the teaching of the prophets." ~ Matthew 7:12 "Wish for your brother, what you wish for yourself" ~ Muhammad (570 AD - 632 AD) "The sage has no interest of his own, but takes the interests of the people as his own. He is kind to the kind; he is also kind to the unkind: for Virtue is kind. He is faithful to the faithful; he is also faithful to the unfaithful: for Virtue is faithful." ~ Tao Teh Ching, Chapter 49 "Never impose on others what you would not choose for yourself." ~ Confucius (551 - 479 BC) "One should never do wrong in return, nor mistreat any man, no matter how one has been mistreated by him." ~ Plato (424/423 - 348/347 BC) "Now this is the command: Do to the doer to cause that he do thus to you." ~ From the Ancient Egyptian story of The Eloquent Peasant (2040 - 1650 BC) "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." ~ Code of Hammurabi (1780 BC) Your thoughts?
  21. It's been awhile since I've posted here. Don't judge. Love Peace <3
  22. Amazing how one can change. The average person changes every four years to the point of being unrecognizable to how he/she was four years prior.

I know. Looking at old pictures of yourself or reading past notes becomes kinda surreal in that way.

  23. I'm just genuinely curious. Since these same set of moral and loving principles can be found in countless other religions and philosophies, why follow Christianity?
