Discordian

It does a bit, though there is no overall story they ever jump into. The story arcs start stretching around to full volumes of the manga rather than a few chapters each. Jing is a total badass too, and even more of a smartass, though his comical expressions die down. He's very calm and collected 99% of the time and always seems to know what he's doing regardless of the situation. The only thing really wrong with the series is that they never really explain why Jing's mom is trapp...

I believe the final story arc takes two volumes if I remember correctly. It's a long one.
