Eeeeh, that analogy doesn't work for me. If there's a fire you're gonna get the hell out of there since it endangers their life. Dealing with people is different. Especially since I consider a debate of any sort more of a mental exercise than trying to prove people right or wrong.

I think a debate requires understanding of the other's opinion, but yet backing up your claim with evidence. I guess you can say it's kinda like proving someone right or wrong, but both parties should have at least a grasp on what the other is saying without blindly lashing at other with snarky remarks or something. However, I will concur that debating can be a very good mental exercise. c:
