Whelp, I spent the morning in a heated argument on the human influence on the natural order, and whether or not we as humans have the right to interfere with such a delicate system, even though we are large enough to topple the entirety of life on Earth
-
We don't do things entirely based on how necessary they are. In fact, the fact that it's not a necessity is probably why it has become little more than a hobby or pastime. We don't need the food but we can get it anyway. It's not particularly different than buying a slab of meat from a deli except that you get the satisfaction of testing your skill to get it yourself.
To the human race comfort and entertainment is far more important than much of anything else in this world. If it costs the lives of plants and animals then so be it. When it comes to a question of us or them it will always be us who gets priority.

How is that a bad thing? We're relatively safe, the worst sicknesses we have to deal with on a regular basis won't keep us down more than a few days, we can be as warm or cool in trying weather as we want, we can be entertained every second of the day, communicate with people from around the world within seconds (not to mention travel there as well in very short amounts of time), our bellies are full with many foods both local and foreign. We have a good life and we are constantly moving forward in ways to make it that much better. It doesn't matter if some or even all of that is artificial. We are thriving.

We have to interfere with it. That's how we build cities, feed our massive population, and make our lives generally comfortable. It's obviously never so black and white as all that but we bend nature to our will to live as we do. You say we shouldn't interfere but our lives have become what they are because we did and we're far better off thanks to that.

What's more, if we don't interfere with nature it will completely overrun us. We tried that for millennia and it only brought us sickness, death, and hardship. We interfere with nature because it wouldn't grant us the same mercy of allowing us to live. We have a right to live above all else and more often than not nature gets in the way of that.

We have the choice to make things our way with or without nature. If it comes down to making a choice between the two the human race can make the choice to cut nature out of the picture. It could be said that because we have the ability to that means it is our right or even our purpose to do so, assuming such a thing even existed.

What song is Luna listening to?

Ornstein and Smough are, imo, the worst boss in DS. Not fun and extremely glitchy. Rest of the game is going good.

2 => Bloodborne > Demon's Souls > 3 > 1
Even when it first released DkS1 failed to impress me. It has none of the charm or fluidity of Demon's Souls and DkS2, and since then the gameplay has been improved upon considerably. 3's main problem was that outside of a couple areas the entire game world is just so drab and uninspired. The whole "dead & ash" aesthetic wore off not long after the first few areas.

It's better for the player to learn not to rely on others too much in those games. It makes the actually hard parts of them that much worse because you haven't built good habits or strategies because other players and phantoms take the heat off of you too much. In a lot of cases it removes the risk altogether.
Personally I think Dark Souls 2 is the best game in the series. I'd actually recommend playing it but it is kind of an unpopular opinion.

The Switch version must be buggier than the others. I've never seen them do anything like that when not online.
I can agree with wanting to beat every boss alone though. I make a point not to summon in the Dark Souls games unless I'm really having trouble. The only bosses I've never been able to beat alone are the final boss of Dark Souls 1, Throne Watcher & Throne Defender in Dark Souls 2, and Alonne also in Dark Souls 2.

There's a boss later in the game that's far worse imo. With O&S it's just the fact that you have two powerhouses against your dinky little character unless you summon some help. Grab a shield of some sort and you can make things quite a bit easier just from not having to dodge Ornstein's attacks. Smough is (usually) slow enough that you can at least keep him on the other side of the room while you handle Ornstein.

There's gonna be some sort of announcement about the Medievil remake on Halloween. I can't wait. I was afraid they were gonna cancel it after the last year of no news whatsoever and PSX being cancelled this year.

Typing up long posts on a phone is ridiculously tedious. Better than not having access to the the internet at all when I'm not at home though.

its pretty much a year since my uncomfortableness here reached its limit, gladly now a year after that I can say that I've somehow been able to gain somewhat of a foothold here again and accept that myself
