The orignals were so boring... The only good thing about it was yoda, R2d2 and 3PO... also teddy bears!
Hoth, yo.

I was so excited to see it, and went the second week of release after school (I was in high school). After growing up with the original trilogy being worn out of my VHS and betamax, sitting though the special editions in theatres, I was expecting the best.
And got Phantom Menace. And jar jar. And a bad Yoda puppet. And that annoying kid macking it on Natalie Portman. Eh... It was quite disappointing.
But then you got the podrace, young Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, and the whole final fight with Darth Maul.

I don't understand the fascination the film industry has with making everything into live action or any sort of equivalent. It doesn't work, doesn't look good even with a high budget, and in cases like this laughs in the face of what being a cartoon is even about.

It remains my favorite Star Wars film. It wasn't the first I watched when it came out but it was the one that kept my attention the most for sure.

Not completely but it would certainly make life easier during the work week. Regardless of what I eat (short of going full vegeterian or something) I seem to spend an unfortunate amount of time in the bathroom each day. Not having to eat anything would help with that.

I can honestly say I don't care about their existence in the slightest. It doesn't affect me in any way so why should I?

Eh, in this particular case I'm against it. Mostly since it's unclear if the parents were informed of what exactly could go wrong.
I feel like we can't really compare this to vaccination. After all, if a vaccination would cause someone some kind of problem, that problem would be limited to that person. But if we make a mistake with gene manipulation that causes some kind of problem, that problem can be inherited by that person's children and then their children etc.
I've always found it a bit funny how many uses arguments like this, yet so few volunteers to partake in unethical experiments.
You're not wrong. It's easy to tell others they should put their lives, or their childrens lives in this case, on the line for such a thing but another thing to do it yourself. That's part of why they're done without consent because few willingly would potentially cripple themselves or worse for the sake of scientific advancement.
Personally, I'm just playing devil's advocate. I don't actually care about society enough to even consider it.

I needed a change. I was basically forcing myself to play Lunar 2 and Tomba 2 the last few days or so and wasn't really having any fun. So instead I'm playing DmC: Devil May Cry and Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth 3. I played DmC on 360 originally so now I'm doing it again on PS3 for the trophies. Neptunia is just tons of good fun. I've never laughed at a video game the way I do at Neptunia.

I can't say I've ever noticed a discernable difference. It'll all melt anyway and do what it's meant to do.

This might sound a bit cruel but if the only way to advance as a species, particularly as far as disease resistence goes, it may be required to break the rules like this. A lot of advances in medical science were made from unethical experiments in the first place.
We live in a society where it's not super necessary since most first world countries are relatively safe but given more extreme circumstances this sort of thing may become a necessity.

There's been a lot over the years but to name a few:
The Nameless One from Planescape: Torment
Hei from Darker Than Black
Saitama from One Punch Man
Gabriel Belmont from Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
Grey and Lucy from Fairy Tail
The Emperor of Mankind, Garviel Loken, Gunner Ferik Jurgen and Caiphus Cain from Warhammer 40,000
Kenji Kazama from D-Frag
Patrick Star from Spongebob Squarepants
Various versions of Dr. Robotnik/Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog
Riku and Xehanort from Kingdom Hearts
The list could go on and on and on but I'll stop there. These are all characters that have stood out to me in one way or another. Ones I'll remember for a very long time.

I rather think that my vocabulary and reading skills improved my appreciation of roleplaying games instead.
Probably more like this. Or they worked in tandem. I can definitely say a desire to understand more was born from text heavy games I saw when I was a child though.

I consistently got D's and F's practically throughout middle and high school. Largely because I didn't even go to school half the time and no matter how well I did on assignments and tests it would never make up for all the stuff I missed.
I ended dropping out in 11th grade but I technically should never have gotten there in the first place. I didn't have enough credits to pass 9th but they pushed me forward anyway.

A couple comics I read work out of Tumblr and are now moving their archives elsewhere thanks to this. Some NSFW, some not. Looks like they're gonna be losing a ton of traffic from both adult and safe content on a long term basis.

We don't even have any in my area as far as I know. Supposedly pretty good food though.

Have you seen them all or just the first?
I've seen them all. Though I only saw the third one once. Maybe I should try to get them again. We lost the DVDs for them years ago.

Multiple iterations of A Christmas Carol (Sim, Stewart, Carrey, Muppet, Magoo)
Die Hard
Gremlins
Home Alone
It's a Wonderful Life
Miracle on 34th Street (the original, in Black and White ONLY)
I have a vague memory of Santa Claus: The Movie with Dudley Moore, glowing candy cane reindeer candy, and a Big Mac.
Specials Include
Garfield
Muppet Family Christmas
Claymation Christmas
Charlie Brown Christmas
I'm also going to check out The Star from last year sometime soon.
Have you seen the Looney Toons version of A Christmas Carol? Bahumduck, I believe it was called. Also a good one.
Unrelated to the above I also gotta give a huge shout out to Tim Allen's The Santa Claus movies for being one of the few non-animated movies to catch my interest. And I'm not just talking about Christmas movies.

I've always been partial towards A Charlie Brown Christmas and The Nightmare Before Christmas myself, although the latter is usually considered a Halloween movie, I think.
It can be both. Isn't that the point?

Which one pays more? That's all I'd really care about.
-
Mickey's Once/Twice Upon A Christmas are hands down my favorites. You get a little bit of everything with them.

I think what people are really mad about is that sites like Tumblr are pretty safe from viruses and whatnot so unlike a lot of existing porn sites people didn't have to worry about infecting their devices because they wanted to check out the adult content. Whether it's for the porn itself or simply for the art (because let's face it, porn artists are extremely talented) Tumblr was a well-known, familiar place where artists could get their stuff out there without endangering their fanbase.

There's a theory that all of the Pixar movies are connected. In a roundabout way it's thought that the toys are somehow powered by the same life/energy source that powers the vehicle people in Cars and were made smaller to take care of and watch over humans instead of attempting to live without them.

I don't think I could tolerate a single game forever. I'm constantly playing new games. I don't really like replaying games even when I really liked them except maybe a few years down the road. That would be a lot of time without a game. I might die.

The longest I've ever gone without gaming is a week. It was self-imposed but you can be sure I'll never go through that again. Gaming is my lifeblood and I don't go a day without it.

Any Sonic the Hedgehog fans?
in Media Discussion
I still have some catching up to do on the franchise so that, the 3DS Sonic Boom games and maybe Sonic Mania will be my next few purchases.
