They bought me books for my birthday, but Christmas is too much apparently.

That was the whole point to me saying that.

They say they want to get me something I'll cherish.

I tell them I cherish all books that are worth reading.

They continue to refuse.

I ask for money (for books) instead.

They shake their heads and walk away.

I continue lighting people on fire.

Some people don't deserve respect, life, happiness, or power, yet we unwittingly through those things to them. Call me once you've fixed this problem and I'll see what can be done about the "fics".
