lol what are you talking about nobody gets on this site anymore

  4. In some areas of the site (such as this area), your posts need to be approved by a mod before they will actually appear. (I imagine) this is to make sure that people give actual correct advice that won't bring harm or undue stress to another user. Or are you seeing the orange banner everywhere on the site?
  5. You're a fellow writer, so I'm obligated to say hello. Hello, and welcome to the Forums! Hope you enjoy yourself here. If I find the time, I'll check out your FiMFic profile.
  6. I think I can honestly say I've been writing and editing for a decade now. Weird thought. I've only written one full MLP fanfic at this point in time -- if you want to read it, check out my FiMFic profile (link in my signature).
  7. Snowflurry outside? Better stay inside where it's warm and cuddle up.
  8. ANSWERING THIS QUESTION, ROUND TWO. I'll stop hedging my bets and say Long Road to Friendship, by Albinocorn. Great Sunset story. Second favorite movie of all time?
  9. LOVE reading. Probably gonna read some fanfictions tonight, even. Favorite Winter Olympics sport?
  10. Kinda sounds like Magic School Bus, or The Time Warp Trio. Either way, it would be nice for lore-building, but not conducive to longer plot-based arcs (in my opinion).
  11. I think, if anything, Hasbro would do well to look at how Gravity Falls approached it. Start off silly and inviting, then tell a STORY rather than a bunch of loosely-connected one-offs. Oh, and let the story end at an appropriate time -- don't drag it out.
  12. Dunno. Give me, like, three months to catch up on the last ~three seasons of content, plus the movie(s?) and I'll get back to ya'. I think people are just growing up, and there's only so many times some cute concept or lesson can be enjoyable. Eventually, the friends are made, the fanfics and PMVs are read and watched, and new interests enter the fray.
  13. From what I've read by peering through this thread, it seems that the thirteen episode final season, coupled with either a second FiM movie or a G5 prologue movie, means that something big will happen that will link the G4 canon to the G5 canon (i.e. some universe-altering event that can believably explain the totally new setting and characters while stealing feeling like a decent and comfortable transition). Whether or not that means the characters are similar or the same (either in appearances, personality, or both) is up for debate. It's important to remember that Hasbro is still a business, and businesses are designed to make money. Perhaps FiM sales are in decline, and Hasbro is smart enough to see the writing on the wall. But just think...what if we get to do this all again? A series premiere, a first season finale, the hiatus before season two, questions about that new villain that they decided to introduce...along with the fandom that springs up around it. I'd be down to ride this whole crazy train all again, as long as the characters were good. (Heck, maybe I can become one of the first major fanfic writers in the G5 fandom. )
  14. I respect everyone! I can appreciate a good meme. Not sure what my current favorite(s) are...but I'm a sucker for the classics. If my dance moves are any indication...no. No I am not.
  15. @admins please buy FiMFiction and fulfill all of my MLP-related dreams kthxbye.

  16. No shame there. I sometimes use the translator to communicate with people. What is your native language?
  17. Hey Aqua Lilly, welcome to the site. Your English seems pretty darn good to me! Enjoy yourself here! Get involved and you'll make plenty of friends.
  18. Used to be pretty darn known around these parts, if I remember correctly. Upwards of 6/10 if I can contain both my modesty and my desire to be known. Now, with all these new users and my until-recently-ended-self-imposed-exile? Like, 0.5/10. Working on it, though. Give me back the Writing Centre and that number will bump up.
  19. Good to see another writer has entered the fray. Hope to see you around. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you ever wanna chat, have questions about writing or the site, etc. Enjoy!
  20. Don't think I was! There was one forum I joined before coming here, and there was maybe, like, three dozen active users? Did some quick searching and these Forums were my next (and last) stop. Because, ya' darn kids, I've seen a lotta stuff in my time! Plus my knee gives out randomly and I have an unnatural love for Denny's breakfasts. I write a little of everything, save the far-flung genres like horror, "mature," etc. And you bet I write fanfictions. I've had a lot of ideas stuck in my head for years, but now that I'm quasi-back, I might as well try fleshing a few of them out. If you want to see my writing style, check out my FiMFiction profile in my signature below. Nah, the avatar is from The Oatmeal, a really good webcomic about stuff and things. I should probably change my avatar to one of my OC's or something, huh. The site layout was basically the same! Back then, a lot of sub-forums weren't around, and the user profiles looked MUCH different. None of this "tabs" nonsense that we have now. Bah. I want my Denny's.
  21. Whew. You're starting off with a difficult question for an old man (21!) Um, it wasn't horribly different from ~2014 -- just fewer people overall. To be honest, I wasn't super active in my first few months here, if I remember correctly. But the site's roleplay section was definitely different (no Empire, for instance), and the forumgoers seemed to be a LOT more active than they are now. Art shops, writing threads, and oddly specific topics about the show sprang up and took off like wildfires. Oh, and ~Chaotic Discord~ was around in basically every thread. Good guy.
  22. (DAAAAAAAAA bears!) Fallout: Equestria, since it was the story that got me into the fandom. Or Long Road to Friendship. What is the BEST genre of fanfiction?
  23. Because it makes playing Solitaire very easy (can speak from experience). Why are bears cooler than eagles?
