Oh gosh. Fallout: Equestria was my introduction to the fandom, waaay back in the summer of 2012. I read it over the summer on the screen of my phone. Come August, when I finished, I had to sit back and suppress shudders. It was so. Good.

Then I hit up FiMFiction, read a bunch of romance with characters I didn't know, then a few months later I finally watched the show.

Huh, so it was fanfiction that got you into the fandom? Usually it's the other way around XD

For me, I was just thinking "well, people have been talking about this show for years, might as well try it out..."

For me it was a combination of fanfiction and me not liking how I didn't understand what all these colorful horses were doing on every website I frequented at the time. In fact, fanfiction got me back into writing and editing! If nothing else, I owe this fandom that.
