  1. Oh, hey, what a coincidence. I actually just created a topic that discusses a "what if" scenario with the discovery of Equestria. I'm not gonna lie. I sort of wish Equestria was real, too. Sure, I like my life on Earth (ok, I might be lying just a bit there), but Equestria's just . . . appealing. The bright, cheerful attitude that permeates the Equestrian atmosphere is infinitely more attractive than the cold, grim world of reality. Yeah, we've seen instances of dickery in Equestria, but can those really compare to the amount we see in our world? And just how many real people are as kind and sincere as those in the Mane 6? Maybe I'm meeting the wrong people, but I haven't seen many. The ponies in MLP are pure. They're uncorrupted by our world. That's what makes them so great. In our world, Fluttershy, Twilight, and Pinkie would be outcasts; Rarity would be greedy; Rainbow Dash would be labeled homosexual; Applejack would be ruined by people who make Flim and Flam look like saints. They would all be taken advantage of. I've fantasized about being in Equestria before. I've imagined myself hanging out with the Mane 6. I've always wanted to have intellectual discussions with Twilight Sparkle (though she would definitely be the smarter one). But at the end of the day, I know that it can't happen. Wanting it won't make it real. It's depressing, but I force myself to accept that my life is here, not there.
  2. Immediately after you read this sentence, an anomaly appears just outside Manhattan. Measuring at two kilometers across and one kilometer high, the anomaly has the appearance of a huge window. When a science team is sent to investigate, they discover the (even more) impossible: ponies. It's a portal to Equestria. The initial portal connects Manhattan with Manehattan, but within days, more portals appear around the world. Those from both worlds can freely leave and enter the portals. Two scenarios arise: 1) Humans remain human when they cross; ponies remain ponies when they cross. 2) Humans become ponies when they cross; ponies become human when they cross. How does this event affect the two universes? How will the humans react? How will the ponies react? How will you react? What happens (besides the collective brony fangasm) in this what-if situation? Bonus scenario:
  3. Fascinating idea. While it's certainly easier to simply accept English as the Equestrian language, it's definitely more interesting (IMO) to consider that they might be speaking a totally different one. After all, Tolkien did create his own languages in his Middle Earth universe. One thing that may need to be considered, however, is the anatomy of the Equestrians. The majority of the population is composed of ponies. I can't claim to be an expert on equines, but there is a clear difference in the vocal structures of humans and horses. That's disregarding the myriad of different species speaking in what is presumably the same language. Of course, that's probably an unimportant factor, since it'll be pretty much impossible to develop a language understandable to humans that way. Because, you know:

  5. I voted above 150. Why? Because now I get to say that I'm smart on the Internet. I'M HELLA SMART NOW GUISE. No, seriously, IQ is bullshit. There are so many different types of intelligences, and there's no one test that can accurately report an individual's intelligence level. IQs can even be (and are) affected by external factors like education and attitude.
  6. Not very much. She would have been utterly forgettable to me if it weren't for the incessant screaming of her fans. That's not to say I dislike her or her fans, of course, just that I have no idea why she's so damn popular. Same goes for other famous background ponies like Octavia and Vinyl Scratch.
  7. Shouldn't have acted embarrassed, man. Act like you meant to say it. The girls might just spread their legs for you that way. Just the teenager's version of calling the teacher Mom.
  8. I highly doubt it'll ever happen, but it would be interesting if it did. It would be nice to have a brony surrogate character who isn't a kid like Spike. Then again, a grown stallion in the group may inevitably turn the Mane 6 into his harem bring up romantic issues, which I'm not sure would fit the show. Ultimately, I'd rather it not happen. I like my fillies, and I don't want some guy barging in. > implying Applejack's not already a background characterI kid, but a new main character will definitely mean less screen time for other ponies. Another reason why it's unlikely.
  9. There's love, then there's tough love, and then there's abuse. Angel is most certainly abusive. He means well, but the way he does it puts me off. You don't hit Fluttershy. You just don't.
  10. Recently found a new official Fluttershy video. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A4-aicXxaI Why Hot Minute? Sixty seconds isn't enough Fluttershy! An hour should be the bare minimum.
  11. Alright, since everyone is posting theirs, I feel it's time that I post my own. My girlfriend is so loving and supportive. She makes me feel better when I feel lonely or sad. She's with me everywhere I go, and I can't imagine life without her.
  12. Personally, I've never really liked the dramatic "villain episodes" that open a season.
  13. I've put off Season 2 for months, so I should probably finish that first. Or maybe I should start Season 3. Hmm, this is a dilemma. Curse this disease known as procrastination!
  14. 6/10 Never seen you, but your post and broohoof counts indicate that you're a fairly established member.
  15. The avatar didn't load, even after refresh. I can see it now, however. 9/10
  16. It probably wouldn't be the best idea to do so without the consent of the poster's significant other. We do need to respect an individual's right to privacy.
  17. Well thought out, well informed writing. Great post! And yeah, I read about Price before. Poor guy.
  18. Great art, as usual. Even as a statue, Dmitri's beard is still going strong! Of course, that's not to say Fluttershy's any less magnificent in the picture. And ouch, hope you're okay.
  19. What usually happens to mentors like Obi-wan and Dumbledore (no clue who Zordon is)? They die. They don't become villains. Their students, Anakin and Tom Riddle, became villains. As awesome as it sounds, we're not talking about villain Twilight Sparkle.
  20. This, minus the seizure hazard. I started with the two-part pilot, but that didn't interest me. A few months later, I happened upon the Grand Gala episode (Best Night Ever). That episode seized me, bound me, and assimilated me into the fandom. There was this charm and addictive quality that I just couldn't fight. I tried to resist, honestly. And I had tried to resist for months before. But I learned that resistance was futile. I was a brony, and I continue to be a brony to this very day.
  21. Art programs are a funny thing. Some are outrageously expensive and have tons of features. Others are free and have fewer features. And then there's MS Paint. I never go anywhere without it.
