  1. It is possible but so long as the beef is of decent quality, handled properly and you don't have a compromised immune system you are probably going to be okay. You can fudge things quite a bit with beef and certain kinds of fish but you can't do the same thing with pork or chicken though due to salmonella and trichinella (don't google that if you just ate or are planning to eat especially if it is pork).
  2. I have never heard the term "blue" being used for searing before, I have seen seared fish be served more often than seared steak myself with it usually being the drier meatier fishes like Swordfish, Albacore and Mahi Mahi.
  3. I am much more interested in the Royal Rumble itself than the world title match, the world title matches are becoming way too repetitive. Seth Rollins is in the world title match and has the money in the bank contract so no matter what happens he still has the upper hand. I found Brock Lesnar much more fun to watch when he went to war with Triple H 2 years ago. I am really hoping for either Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler or someone new like Roman Reigns or Dean Ambrose to win the royal rumble.
  4. I like a little bit of pink in my steaks but I usually don't want to still hear the cow mooing so I tend to like them medium rare/medium. There are some cuts of meat though that taste a bit better more well done the end cut on a prime rib comes to mind.
  5. 90% of the time this is done it is done for harmless fun, the moral of the episode was geared far more toward people who try too hard to play matchmaker in real life. Fanfics rarely ever affect the show at all so it is just a matter of fans are going to do what they are going to do.
  6. One of these days I have to try Nutella but my standby tends to be peanut butter.
  7. If you make a new IP it may or may not succeed but the risk is high but making a spinoff of an already existing frachise has brand recognition which already gives you an audience of people who will most likely see it. It is so much easier and less expensive to simply make humanized versions of the ponies and put them in a high school setting than come up with something else entirely to compete with similar toylines. The movie was successful of course I don't know how successful the toyline was and successful or not the dolls are UGLY.
  8. PSA commercials are getting dumber and dumber, I seriously thought this anti smoking commercial was a trailer for a movie or a video game or something. I have never touched a cigarette in my life and don't plan to but this actually made smoking look awesome which seriously defeats the purpose of the entire commercial. http://youtu.be/JvcBUf2Bzbs

You should see some of ours. They used to have one in the 90s with the slogan "Tobacco is whacko." Really.

At the very least "tobacco is wacko" dosen't seemingly glorify something it is supposed to be against, this is almost like if PETA aired a commercial telling people not to eat burgers and then talking about how tasty they are.

      That's certainly true.

  9. I just saw Selma today, is about this civil rights protest in Selma, Alabama which later lead to the passage of the Voting Rights Act. The Civil Rights Act was passed the year before but there was strong resistance from southern states and president Johnson was reluctant to intervene any further.
  10. Goku is someone who has a lot of natural talent but has honed it through the years by training very hard. Goku may not always be the strongest ever but that is in fact a good thing because it shows room for improvement, it shows a challenge which he needs to overcome. Without the opportunity to be challenged and grow a character becomes stale and risks becoming a Mary Sue/Gary Stu. With that said some fanboyism does influence some people on this but there is a lot of good reasons Goku gets the kind of credit he does.
  11. That is the general opinion of a lot of people but isn't the fact that so many teens and adults many of whom are male into a show where the characters are predominantly female proof that people are capable of relating to characters of the opposite gender is a rather significant way? This isn't nearly as huge as the brony phenomenon but as a long time Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan one thing I have noticed is that since the 2012 reboot that there are a lot of new fans coming in and many of them are young girls even though most of the main characters are in fact male.
  12. There are plenty of girls who act a lot like Rainbow Dash, so no I think Rainbow Dash is perfectly fine being a mare instead of a stallion. And I might add that you could just as easily make the same case with Applejack, she dosen't have Rainbow Dash's raspy voice but like Rainbow Dash is an athlete, very competitive (though Applejack is better at reigning it in), has competed in some rodeos and is even stronger than most full grown stallions.
  13. They are sapient beings just like humans so I would pretty much treat them the same way so yes I would.
  14. True, what I meant when I said Hinduism is a complicated religion is that it has so many different concepts and ideas stacked into it that it can get quite overwhelming. But like all major religions there are extremists and one of them did in fact kill Gandhi. Discrimination being illegal is good but it dosen't always mean that it dosen't exist. If there are some significant improvements being made in India today than that of course is a good thing of course I confess I am more familiar with the political situation of India during Gandhi's time than today so if I am mistaken about something in this case it would be a good thing. What I do know though is that India and Pakistan do have a very tense relationship even today and there are still some problems between Muslims and Hindu's.
  15. My thoughts on a proposed law in congress that would offer tracking devices for special needs children.
  16. Actually the letters to princess Celestia decreased in frequency gradually around season 2 until now when they are used but not nearly as much. With that said though most of the lesson in the show are at least for older audiences like us more reinforcement than anything actually new. That is not a bad thing mind you but that is what I have indeed noticed but to me the lessons are one reason of many.
  17. 2 of the worlds largest religions Hinduism and Buddhism both originated in India though Hinduism became far more prevalent in India. Hinduism itself is the most complicated major religion on the planet no joke, there are elements of polytheism, animism, spirit/ancestor worship and even some examples of monotheism. India is also home to a large Muslim minority though unfortunately there has been a lot of religious conflict which eventually resulted in the formation of the country of Pakistan which was once part of India. This has however caused its own set of problems and has had little if any positive effect. The caste system is still a serious problem in India today, one of the main reasons Gandhi was assassinated was his criticism of the caste system. I am a bit hesitant to visit India due to the rather precarious political and religious situation but if things calm down than I might be more inclined to visit.
  18. It depends on which version of Superman, the Golden Age Superman does indeed fit that category in my personal opinion but most other versions are actually a lot more like Goku than you might think. The version from Superman the Animated Series/Justice League Unlimited is my personal favorite version, he is quite powerful obviously but does struggle against tough opponents as well as several other issues that make him very human like even if he is a bit of a boy scout. Toward the end of Superman the Animated Series for example he struggles with the death of his close friend Dan Turpin who was murdered by Darkseid. It and other events lead up to an epic series finale where Superman gave Darkseid a beating so savage that he almost killed him.
  19. England is one of those countries that I would love to visit but wouldn't want to live there. The history buff in me would have a great time with all the historical sites and museums but the place has an even worse police state than where I currently live which is America. If you are going to go so far as to move to another country it might be a good idea just to go there and visit for a little while and see how you like it.
  20. I live in Southern California which is a fairly diverse place so accents can vary a bit but the most common aside from me who really dosen't have much of an accent is the hispanic accent particularly Mexican with me being so close to the border. My Dad's side of the family immigrated to America from Italy so there are a lot of Italian accents in my family.
  21. Chaotic good, like me my main OC is not a saint and dosen't pretend to be but does try to do the right thing but has a strong distrust of authority and is not afraid to bend the rules a bit or even alot in order to stand up for what he believes in. Of course he is a lot more arrogant than me and can come off as a jackass sometimes.
  22. The fact that Twilight was this major loner before season 1 and then all of a sudden at the end of season 2 she mentions her "big brother best friend forever" seems a bit jarring which strongly indicates that Shining Armor was probably not planned from the start. I am not saying Twilight couldn't still be a loner and just be close to her brother but still. Introductions aside Shining Armor is an alright character, I often jokingly call him "lucky bastard" because he is married to Cadence. There is some degree of potential with his character including his relationship with Twilight and how he likely had to be away from his family due to his duties as a guard and later captain of the guards. But if you ask me I think he has quite a bit of competition from Big Mac for the title of "big brother best friend forever."
  23. That is a tough decision but I have a few strong contenders most notably, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3, Zelda A Link To The Past and Mother 1 (Earthbound in the US).
  24. No change whatsoever, I was into Jazz, Rock, Blues, Classical, Opera, various video game music and a few other things before and still am.
  25. No, there were a lot of things I hated about high school and alot of things I liked so that was a fairly equal mix of good and bad. I like college on the other hand much much better, you have the financial stuff to worry about which is a bad thing but there is financial aide if you know how to tap into it. On the plus side you have much more freedom to choose your path and there are a lot less bullies and idiots. How much or what kind of homework you get largely depends on what your major is and what teachers you get as the teachers themselves have much more freedom in forming their curriculum and thus can have drastically different ways of doing things and there can be differences in how much of what particular subjects are covered which can also depend on your major. One thing I don't like though is certain general ed requirements particularly Math are still required even if took them in high school (which makes trade school make a lot more sense for some people than college) even if your particular major may have little or even nothing to do with that particular subject. I do well in nearly every subject you can think of but Math is seriously my academic kryptonite, I can barely even do Pre Algebra. I am way too stubborn to let that get to me though, I am going for my at the very least a masters degree in history and possibly a PHD so I am eventually going to find a way to beat this.
