  1. Music: I discovered a talent for it at age 12 after I sat down at this keyboard my grandpa gave me and started playing. I wasn't trying to play anything in particular but I just made up my own song out of nowhere and I didn't even know how to read music back then. I took lessons got in the school band then the high school jazz band kept getting better and composing more songs. I have been out of practice for a while but I am thinking about picking it back up again. Video games: Years and years of practice have made me a fairly skilled gamer, I can't run with the pro's who go in tournaments but can still do a decent job. Writing: Punctuation is something I often struggle with but other than that I have a fairly creative mind and have been writing stories since I was 10. I started writing fanfics where I got into ponies, one of which is linked in my sig. History: It has always been my best subject in school and is my major, I have a good memory and a strong fascination with the subject, especially American history and the Renaissance.
  2. Big Mac has the most potential of the stallions to be a positive role model, he along with Applejack had to help raise Applebloom and run the family farm and Big Mac had to try to be a good big brother to Applejack. Due to his quiet, calm demeanor I can easily see him as the voice of reason in the Apple Family among two rather opinionated mares and a young filly who occasionally gets into some trouble.
  3. I have a little bit of everything but some of it came more naturally to me and some of it I had to work much harder at mastering. Linguistic and Interpersonal are two that I had to really had to work at to be competent at and "Mathematical-logical" is something I continue to struggle with to this day. Visual-Spatial and Musical are my two strongest points, I found my talent for music at age 12 and already composed songs even before I learned to read music. From a very young age I always had a sensitive ear and was able to pick up a lot of things that most people either can't or have difficultly doing.
  4. Yes I have, I had all 4 of mine removed a few years ago and the initial pain itself was not that bad at all for me, of course part of that is because of my ridiculously high tolerance for pain. What really sucked though was not being able to eat solid food for a couple of days, the hunger pains I had were way worse than the pain from the procedure. I requested 3 days off from work to recover (my job is very physically demanding) and they gave me a 4th day to be on the safe side and it is a real good thing they did. My first day back even the slightest exertion would make me feel like I was going to pass out so it took a few days of modified duty to get me somewhat back to normal.
  5. I am sorry to hear that, work injuries are not fun are they? I have had 5 knee injuries, 4 of which were workers comp matters and one of the factors that caused them, especially the more recent ones is the pressure to keep going faster and faster. As I have said on another thread just like this one I am a dairy clerk and backup checker and the irony is that being in the checkstands is even harder on me physically than stocking is and I have severe anxiety problems about being up there and because there is so much going on I don't pick up on certain social cues I normally do which has lead to several misunderstandings with customers, both of which are in part due to me being on the Autism spectrum. If my plans succeed though I will become a Receiver (back room manager) and no longer have to worry about any of that anymore. It is one of the toughest jobs to get in my store but with the current Receiver going out on knee surgery next month he will need someone to cover for him and he may retire soon. I am going to try to convince them to make me a backup Receiver so I can get a chance to show them that I can do it.
  6. I doubt this will effect MLP, a few other shows maybe but since Dan VS got cancelled MLP is the only show I really care about on the Hub.
  7. It is getting so damned hot that I actually look forward to going to work, being in an industrial strength cooler is the perfect place to be when it gets to the point where you can fry an egg on the sidewalk.

It was hot and humid where I am at all day, it did rain for 10 minutes of course with my luck the sun was still out the entire time and it made the humidity problem even worse.

    3. Megas

      Megas

lol it was a lot worse for me, I work inside a factory with lots of hot machinery(with garage doors open). I swear, I've lived in California all my life, yet I don't think I've ever worked in an environment so hot before

    4. Thunderchild

I had 28 degrees at my place this morning-we have a frost warning for tomorrow. I've got to start moving my water based paint and materials out of my garage again. This was the worst summer.

  8. They better not try to tone it down to make it more kiddy, Sith lore is some of the best stuff in the expanded universe and it is bad enough to make most of it non cannon but to try to water it down is a crime. I looked it up and found out it was because Lucas preferred the name Moraband which dosen't have the pizazz that Korriban does but so long as they don't butcher Sith lore too badly I can overlook it but I am still calling it Korriban damn it.
  9. I don't see exactly how that is going to nullify Starkiller as cannon but I would rather not think of cool things getting nuked from the cannon and even if that is the case it dosen't mean that the show won't be a good one. We will see where they go with this, Clone Wars was awesome so a good Star Wars series can be done so the ball is in Disney's court as to how to handle this. I am still pissed at them for the whole "expanded universe non cannon" thing but that still dosen't mean I won't give this show or the upcoming trilogy a chance.
  10. Satan has invited everyone where I live to a barbeque and isn't taking "no" for an answer. It is so damn hot that if Darth Vader came to visit it would only take him a few minutes to wish he was back on Mustafar.

Especially Syria, I am glad I can step out of my door without having to worry about my brains blown out.

Yea. This morning in SS, my teacher said that Syria is like the movie "The Purge" and I was like, "Wow, best description of syria EVER."

  11. No, but my neighbor told me about it years ago and I have wanted to see it out of morbid curiosity ever since. Knowing my sick sense of humor it should be good for a laugh.
  12. The standards over what is considered appropriate and inappropriate are a little different in Japan and a lot of Americans tend to see cartoons as something that always or almost always has to be for kids while this isn't a common attitude in Japan. Granted more and more Americans are starting to see that just because something is a cartoon dosen't automatically mean it is or should be geared toward children but the attitude of cartoons=for kids is still a common point of view in American meaning there are far fewer things cartoons can actually get away with in America unless said cartoons are geared specifically for adults. It is hard to believe now but when it came out The Simpsons was almost as controversial as South Park would later become when it first came out.
  13. Yes, the self righteous hypocrisy of many of these individuals is quite staggering if they want to act like they are better than everyone else and think they are God's gift to mankind and every other fan is scum than I am glad that they have the decency to distance themselves from me instead of the white knights who have this naive goal of trying to "purify" the fandom with their crusades against the "dark side" of the fandom I can understand not liking certain aspects of a fandom, there are some about this one that drive me up the wall, or just being a more casual fan and not really a "joiner" so to speak but the
  14. This will certainly lead in some interesting directions, I answered flank and hips but there is one more that is not on the list. I can't post an example of it but every mare has one.
  15. There are some nights where I do but for the most part I sleep okay. What helps me is I go to sleep and wake up relatively early and keep a relatively consistent sleep schedule. I saw the benefit of this when I got promoted at work 6 years ago from a General Merchandise Clerk (mostly non food stocker) to a Food Clerk and was scheduled 4AM shifts and not just that it helps me sleep better but I also like the extra time I get during the day.
  16. Tirek being brought to G4, they took so many of the things that made G1 Tirek awesome and made him an even bigger badass here.
  17. No, I hate crowds I like having some sort of routine and if I am going through the TSA's grope/radiation baker bullshit than I am at the very least going somewhere nice and I could be going to some 3rd world hellhole for all I know.
  18. Until I just beat it today Tales of Xillia 2 though a lot of games video games have become obsessions for me in the past and some others will likely be in the future. Right now though I just started playing South Park and The Stick of Truth and yep, that is my new game obsession. My most notable gaming obsessions though were Star Wars the Old Republic, Ogre Battle 64, too many Zelda games to count and too many Mario games to count to name a few. I have a major history obsession and in more recent years have taken an especially strong interest in American history and of course the ideas of the Renaissance and Enlightenment which lead to things like the constitution and bill of rights.
  19. I can watch some of the goriest stuff you can possibly imagine and so long as it is fiction even if the violence is realistic I will not only not even flinch but given the right circumstances might even find it funny. Cupcakes was one of the most hilarious things I have ever read and one of my favorite comic book series is Lobo which is so over the top that it makes even things like Cupcakes look like a tea party. Lobo is like an artist when it comes to killing or "fraggin'" as he often calls it. He is so obsessed with violence that in one issue he gave up this lucrative scam he concocted involving a phony religion because he couldn't help himself. With that said though I can get bored in a lot of cases of gore for the sake of gore but in certain situations I can find that entertaining.
  20. Mostly either trolls who want attention or zealots who have no idea what they are talking about, either way the best course of action is to just ignore them.
  21. The point of a waifu at least for most people including me is simply having a really strong crush on a character. It is a little bit of pretending and some wishful thinking but for the most part it tends to stay in the realm of fantasy. I have had crushes on many in the past but Applejack's is without a doubt the strongest one I have had.
  22. Are you post anything, anything at all that dosen't amount to "gee it sucks to get older"? There are some things that suck about getting older I am not going to sugarcoat it, children are given so much understanding while adults are expected to be perfect at all times and are shown no mercy if they screw up in the slightest but there are some good things too. Getting older means new experiences and while they aren't all going to be good ones if you keep an open mind and try to be positive you will be able to see those things, enjoy them and try to make the best of the not so great experiences. There are things that aren't that great about younger either if you really think about it, as you get older you get the opportunity to make more decisions and opportunities to shape your life and future. So society dosen't like it when adults do certain "childish" things, why should any of us care what they think?
  23. I was 15 but I don't remember much, with the exception of me coming home and finding out what happened it was an ordinary school day for me. I felt bad for the people who were killed but it didn't personally affect me very much.
  24. It seems as if people take much more issue with human relationships with sapient life forms which have animal like features as opposed to aliens because they claim it is "bestiality" but where did the prohibitions against bestiality come from? Cleanliness was likely one reason but a more modern reason given is concerns over animals ability to consent due to them not being sapient which is a legitimate concern however one in which would not apply to sapient life with human level intelligence. This of course makes the bestiality claim inaccurate so with that in mind why does the taboo still persist? I think it has to do with the fact that because humans are the only known sapient species on earth there is simply no precedent for inter species relationships with non human sapient beings. In large part because of this lack of a precedent it is seen as different, unusual and perhaps even suspect by a lot of people. It is a simple case of people don't understand something and thus they condemn it. This has long been the case with homosexuality and still is though there has been some improvement on this in recent years. This would present some rather interesting debate should human beings ever discover another sapient species especially one with some animal like features.
  25. Do you have any idea how arrogant and self serving that sounds? I now know there is simply no talking to you about this or anything for that matter. If you are are a saint and everyone else is scum you can't possibly be wrong because you are gods gift to mankind and everyone else can't possibly be right. I can understand not associating with certain people because of clashing beliefs and values but come on man this a bit ridiculous. All you are going to do is cause unnecessary conflict and turn people away with that kind of talk. I think I am pretty much done here, like I said before a conversation in this situation is impossible, goodnight.
