  1. As much as I like ponies nope I don't have a "brony urge" at least not to the extent the OP indicates.
  2. I think I am going to start with a joke to introduce the first thing. 1. I am a musician: I am not "world famous" like the example in the video but I am a pianist LOL. I just sat down and started playing one day when I was 12 years old when I realized my talent and one thing lead to another I got in the school band and took private lessons. I joined the high school jazz band and during this entire time even before I could read music I was composing songs. I have been out of practice for a while but I am thinking about getting back into it. 2. High IQ: honor role in middle school and multiple honors and AP classes passed easily in high school and an above average knowledge of history. 3. I won't bullshit you: I may not be perfect but I try as best as I can to keep it real. I hate liars and lying and try to keep myself as honest as I can.
  3. Except for this one customer who was a total bitch work hasn't been too bad these last couple of days which is a tad unusual with how close it is to the Labor Day holiday. Just one more day and I am off, I don't usually work Sundays but it is a repack day so I don't have to worry about breaking down and working a load.

  4. I personally think medical marijuana is way way better than pain pills but legally speaking that is kind of in a gray area right now. As someone who has had 5 knee injuries most of which were workers comp matters I have had way more experience with pain pills than anyone should ever have. During my 1st knee injury they really gave me the strong stuff, of course there was this one pill (I don't remember which one) and when I read the side effects it scared me so much that I decided I wasn't going to touch them no matter how bad the pain got. Through that and my 2nd and 3rd injury I escaped the really bad side effects thankfully. With my 4th and 5th injury though I deal with constipation which is a common side effect of some pain pills and decided that taking them wasn't worth it. Of course my situation is different than yours, everyone has a different pain tolerance level and degree of severity of pain condition, I have a high tolerance for pain which is good because it helped get through these injuries but is also bad because it caused me to underestimate the extent of how hurt I was and caused me to push myself much further than I should have.
  5. Do you have any ideas for job prospects? I can understand why you quit your job, I would love to tell my employer to take this job and shove it but with the job market the way it is it seems like a bad idea to quit your job unless you have another job lined up by time you send your walking papers. You have one advantage and that is a valuable skill that most people don't have, you could work for another repair company.
  6. The fire challenge is for wussies, the jumping off a cliff challenge is where it is at it is the last challenge you will ever do.
  7. Dang, I was hoping it would be an announcement about the successor to the 3DS or something but it looks like just another version of the 3DS. If people want to get it great but as for me unless me 3DS went kaput I don't see any reason to get this. It is at least not as bad as the name Microsoft came up with for their latest console the Xbox "One" and their explanation was probably the most pretentious I ever heard, before that I thought the Wii U was the worst console name ever.
  8. Yes staying in shape is important but you are talking as if staying in shape means you have to be as strong as the Incredible Hulk or as fast as The Flash when that is not entirely true. I have been gifted with strength far above average and have developed it further through weight lifting but I also learned the hard way though 5 work related knee injuries that I am NOT invincible and of course that everybody is different. Because of my bad knee I can no longer stand in place for prolonged periods of time without risking serious injury and cold/damp or humid weather can make my bad knee act up. But I still do what I can to stay in shape because although I have my limitations I know that making myself stronger will reduce the likelihood of me getting re injured as well of course eventually getting out of my job which puts way too much strain of my knees. Getting adequate sleep, eating a proper diet and taking care of your emotional and mental health are also important. It is all a matter of balance, not too little of anything not too much of anything. What effects the body often effects the mind and what effects the mind often effects the body. Much of the reason why I got my 4th knee injury was because of the severe depression I was going through at the time, I was always sick and incredibly weak back then and simply put my body gave out on me.
  9. I went back to school for the first time in 3 years last year but burned out afterwords and didn't take spring semester. I am back again and I have some failsafe measures that will hopefully prevent me from burning out again. I honestly don't know at this point what "grade" I am technically in because I have been going to school on and off for 7 years. All I know is that I am fairly close to enough credits to transfer to a 4 year university but because my GPA went so far down the crapper I will have to bring it up to a respectable level before that is ever going to happen.
  10. I wanted to be a fireman when I was 6 years old, not the same as a cop exactly but a very important profession nonetheless. I eventually changed my mind a million times over though and still do that, my latest consideration is to become a history teacher. Because of my numerous disagreements with the way law enforcement is carried out and with the disturbing increased militarization of police I don't think I could square that with my conscience. It dosen't mean I don't think cops are important or that there aren't good ones out there despite the very bad system only that it is not for me.
  11. I have heard a "goodbye Golden Oaks Library" episode in season 5 be mentioned but I highly doubt it is going to have the kind of effect that Apple Family Reunion had on me. All the subtext about Applejack's parents, if you really read between the lines it is a very touching story. Speaking of which an episode about Applejack's parents has been on the wishlist of a lot of fans including me and if done would indeed be a tear jerker but I sort of dismissed it as a possibility until I saw how dark the season 4 finale was. Granted the odds are still against it but I think the likelihood just went up a bit with the precedent the season 4 finale has set. A Scootaloo episode could potentially be tear jerking depending on how they did it, I doubt they would go the orphan or Scootabuse route but they wouldn't really have to. It could go into why Scootaloo wants a kind of sisterly relationship with Rainbow Dash. Maybe she is an only child and her parents are so busy with work and whatever else that they don't have much time for her.
  12. Yes, that is true which is why the characterizations of Pinkie Pie in some episodes aggravates me and Frilli Vanilli is a very good example of what I am talking about. It is a bit much to call Pinkie Pie a bitch for just a scene or two in a few episodes but there has been a pattern since season 3 (and I say this as someone who has said on multiple occasions that season 3 is the most underrated season) of Pinkie Pie's being dumbed down to make her seem like just a smiling doofus that wants to party all the time. Season 4 was a huge improvement of season 3 in this respect with Pinkie Pie getting some of the best episodes of the season though there are a couple of examples mid and late season of her sort of going backwards. Also true but there seemed to be no acknowledgement that Pinkie Pie screwed up in the episode at all either by her or any of the mane 6. I can relate big time to misinterpreting intentions and social cues but after Fluttershy cried it should have been obvious even to her. In fairness though it is very easy to make Fluttershy cry.
  13. My favorite Christian songs are the old aria's and opera's actually here are a couple of my favorites. The first one is Ave Maria which is a musical adaption of the "hail Mary" prayer. And the next one is a musical adaption of Psalm 51, Miserere which translation into English means "have mercy on me oh God."
  14. This one, it is classic song and it is the one love song I can think of that Applejack would probably like. And AJ would probably find it touching that this song reminds me of my Dad (may he rest in peace), he used to play a lot of oldies songs like that on the radio in his 1964 Chevy when my brother and I would go bumming with him on Saturdays. http://youtu.be/GBcBoyXulFg
  15. Yes, there has been 2 occasions that I am aware of where has come onsite and said that they are not a brony but inquired politely as to why we were in a thread. In each case the person in question was civil and the responses back were equally amicable. There was also another case where this person signed up to interview bronies and I was one of the people interviewed.
  16. I think it started out okay but has now become the charitable equivalent of a circle jerk. Charity is a good thing (unless it is one of those fraudulent charities like most of the Cancer ones but that is a topic for another day) but it seems more like people are just band wagoning onto this just to feel like they are important and doing something without having to do jack shit or are just attention whoring. That is not to say there aren't people doing this for the right reasons but I just don't see the point of this, it is supposed to raise money and awareness of ALS which is great but why is it ice bucket challenge or donate money? Why not just donate the fraggin' cash already? To say it caused a drought in California is a bit of a stretch but it dosen't take a genius to figure out that it sure isn't helping the situation.
  17. I was in the school band in middle school playing both piano and xylophone of course when I really had fun was in my high school jazz band. I took all sorts of field trips to perform in quite a few concerts.
  18. I loved how Zaheer and his gang used their bending in ways most have never even thought of. Ming Hua used her waterbending to fashion makeshift limbs for herself making it I am sure feel like fighting an octopus. It was the first time we saw a non avatar use lava bending, Pl Li's combustion bending was nice to see, it was almost like having Combustion Man back. And of course Zaheer being using lethal moves that most airbenders wouldn't dare to use like that he used he where literally suck the air right out of the earth queen to suffocate her to death and being the first airbender since Guru Lahima to achieve flight. The Red Lotus is a nice foil to the White Lotus though I would have liked to have heard more detail as to why they felt the way they did. We got some information but I know there is more to the story, perhaps they had some legitimate grievances against the White Lotus. The ending of book 3 also hinted that there are still some more Red Lotus out there which makes me wonder if there are anymore out there as powerful as Zaheer and his companions. We know that Unlaq used to be a Red Lotus member so this is entirely feasible.
  19. Sometimes I will but it is usually ones that you don't need to be into ponies to understand like "eeeyup" for example.
  20. Tired, didn't get much sleep last night and had to go to work but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Wednesdays are my least favorite day of the week because my load is always late (I am a dairy clerk) and Wednesdays have gotten really busy since the store I work at started making both the old and the new add in effect that day.
  21. I have noticed a ton of commercials for hard cider airing lately, I wonder much MLP has had to do with it? It certainly had made me curious as to what it tastes like.
  22. If something is good than they can milk it as much as they want so long as it stays that way.
  23. My Dad passed away 2 years ago so unless you count worm chow as an occupation he is unemployed though that was also the case for the last few years of his life due to his deteriorating health from kidney failure. On a happier note back when he did work he owned an Italian restaurant, he was the public face and the front while my aunt (his sister) was the head chef. My Dad has been in the restaurant business since he was 15 and it was his passion. My Mom has had nearly every job you can think of but currently sells wine for a company that specializes in international wines from small family owned wineries which they sell by the case.
  24. Yes, but it would be very difficult to pull off at least if all of them were to get special someponies but one or two of them would probably wouldn't have too much of a negative impact on the show if done right.
  25. Cartoon Network: 1. Having Toonami "back" is great but I am not a night owl so having the old adult swim that used to air on weekday afternoons and having the current version be their "midnight run" would be great. It wouldn't have to air on weekday afternoons, it could air on primetime weekday nights or Saturday mornings but it would still be great to have it back on a time I am actually awake. Or Adult Swim as its own channel as the OP suggested is also something worthy of consideration. 2. Bring back DC Nation lineup, Young Justice and Green Lantern the Animated Series were great shows that were ended way too soon and Beware the Batman had barely any chance at all to take off. And with how vast the DC universe is there are plenty of opportunities to introduce a lot of other great shows to the lineup as well. 3. Stop putting on good shows and cancelling them 2 seconds later. Beware the Batman and Thundercats (2011) are two examples of exactly what I am talking about. Beware the Batman had so much potential but barely got to take off and Thundercats (2011) got canned with no explanation just when it was getting good. 4. Bring back a few of the old shows. I like Boomerang but not everyone gets that channel and a lot of classic cartoons in addition to great original shows are what built Cartoon Network. 5. Bring back What a Cartoon Show. It gave cartoonists an opportunity to get their stuff out there and viewers an opportunity to be exposed to some interesting stuff and gave rise to some great shows that may not have seen the light of day otherwise. 6. Let the creators actually do their jobs, it is a simple concept that allowed Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon to thrive in the past and it can work again now. Nickelodeon: 1. See 4,5 and 6 2. Get rid of the "teen" sitcoms please, it is all fine and dandy to have them on Teen Nick but all the characters are bland Mary Sue/Gary Stus. 3. Put Spongebob out of it and my misery. It started out good but has really gone downhill and is getting more and more craptacular by the second. I am all for re airing the good episodes but this show really needs to die before it loses anymore of the little dignity it has left. And please Nickelodeon do you guys really need to air Spongebob 24/7, come on guys a show even if it is a good one cannot be the sole focus of a TV network. 4. I like fart jokes and all but most of the time Nickelodeon does them these days just comes off as forced and just a pathetic attempt to get the kids to watch. One of my favorite Nickelodeon cartoons is Ren and Stimpy and it had a ton of that kind of humor but it was done right.
