i have no idea. all i do know is that the Sega Genesis utilized FM modulation with its soundchip. who the manufacturers were i have no clue about.

Can you all imagine if Sega and Nintendo actually made games together then as they seem to do nowadays?

I dunno. The console wars pushed both companies to keep on releasing games. On one side of the coin, we might not have some of the classics we do today, but on the other side, we might not have some of the rushed classics we have today.
