  1. Yeah I was referring to the other pic which is why I brought up those points. This pic however looks much more clean and I like it better. And yeah, I'd like to have the cutie marks on their clothes rather than faces....because it'd be weird having high school kids with tattoos on their cheeks! tongue.png That and it just doesn't look good.

It's their official design! The trailer came out TODAY! I was so relieved! I still wish they were normal colored... But maybe they thought making them different colors would prevent any claims of racism...

  2. Yeah, I agree with your points. Rarity looks like a vampire with such white skin, and Twilight and Rainbow Dash have probably the least beleivable skin colours.

I think they changed the ears though. I've seen an official image with human ears. Here!img-1458829-1-Equestria_Girls_February_1

No lipstick there either... Nor wings...

I've seen the other one, with the wings and lipstick, and another thing I'd change is the cutie marks on their faces...

I wish this was the real deal... I heard they'd gone for the other version... The rediculous version...

    Spike's still a dog though...

  3. Her reaction was of shock and fear at first, so I doubt she actually expected to be a princess herself. However, at the end of the episode, she appears to have come to terms with it and feels like the luckiest pony in the world. I doubt there's anyone in Equestria who doesn't want to be a princess though...

  4. Well... He's child friendly, and currently the oldest video-game character still getting new games. He represents Classic gaming, and the end of the Video Game Crash of the 80's. After Atari and their competitors went bust, Nintendo burst onto the scene with Mario and stole the show, dominating the market for childrens games ever since. Of course, he's been doing exactly the same thing for over 20 years now... Saving Princess Peach from her "stalker with a crush" Bowser, just for some cake... No, seriously... That's his motivation...

That's why people idolize him... Not that it makes him a great hero... He's a Plumber (Originally he was a Carpenter) who saves a hopeless princess once every week... Super Mario 3D land actually made fun of this, with Mario, at the end of his most recent adventure, presumably having just had cake, saying goodbye to Peach... Only for her to get kidnapped again immediately... Way to go Mario! You saved the princess and forgot to set up any defences!

Of course there are much better heroes... But they usually don't last as long. All of the Pokemon heroes only lasted their respective generations, the only thing remaining the same being the Pokemon themselves. But then there's characters like Kirby (who's a pink, bulemic black hole of a badass... What was Nintendo thinking?) who are timeless.

  5. I supported it whole heartedly. I think that it's a great way to end a season, especially when the series has now met the 65 episode milestone to become easily exported. There are also friendship lessons that couldn't be explored before now open for the writers to use, and Lauren Faust actually planned from the beginning for Twilight to become a princess, and that she was already in training before we see her.

My theory is, after substantial magic training from Celestia, Twilight was sent to Ponyville. She was to make some friends and find her place as the element of Magic. After that, Celestia let her stay and study the magic of friendship, an easy way to keep all the elements together as well as let Twilight learn and grow, to the point she's ready to fulfil her destiny as a Princess. Villians come and go, with the friends defeating them one-by-one (with the exception of Chrysalis, who was deafeted by the other young princess)

The final test was easy for Twilight because of what she'd learned about friendship. Who would have thought that the answer was to show the other mane-6 what they meant to eachother, and allow them to rediscover their talents at the same time. Only Twilight could have done that, and it proved she was ready.

    TL;DR

I like that Twilight is a princess now!

  6. We welcome you to the herd with open arms. No-body's gonna care if you were a hater! Lots of people start out as haters and eventually, after actually trying it, enjoy the show and join those they once hated upon! Actually, I stumbled upon FiM whilst I was looking for a nostalgia hit. I was looking for Rarity from gen 3, and instead of finding my favorite rainbow princess, I found, er, Rarity. I was outraged, but eventually I grew curious. I watched a few episodes and fell in love with the other characters. I didn't like Rarity until after season 2 though, so anyone who met me before would have noticed my aversion to Rarity.

  7. Welcome! I guess you jumped in the deep end! Or maybe you jumped from a helicopter into our ocean of awesomeness. Welvome to the herd, welcome to the forums, and a lovely hello from me to you too!

  8. I love the DSlite. Mainly because I play my games almost anywhere, at any time. Add to that the fact that It's about the right size for my puny hands, so it feels right to hold it for long periods, and it can play my GBA games (which I do have... Love you Pokemon Sapphire! Even if you're not loved by others!) I also enjoy PC gaming because that also feels natural to me, with WASD and mouse controls. However, with home consoles, I can't really say. I've played a bit on all the (soon to be outdated) consoles, and all of them are good. The Playstation and XBox controllers are both ergonomically designed for 2 hands, with the Wii controller being designed more for 1 hand (note- motion controls). I like how the Wii controller can also work with 2 hands, but it's not all that comfortable.

I haven't tried any portable consoles outside of Nintendo, so I don't know much about them.

  9. I, uh... Wow... Incredible! I'm about as oblivious as a 5 year old, but I love learning about symbolism and science. There's a reason I take Biology, and it's not because I'm a good student! I often don't notice the little things, and I often watch videos about such things just to see what I'm missing. I go on TVtropes, watch Vsauce as well as a few people who analyse the show... I might be oblivious, but that doesn't mean I don't like the little details, and you've pointed some of them out!

  10. I don't seem like the girl to stick my hand up for a dance contest... Nor do I look like I'd like MLP for that matter! Or anything remotely childish or girly...

So, the story of the dance contest...

Ah yes, it wasn't a big dance contest, there weren't even any real prizes... Except maybe respect... It wasn't some reality TV show, just a girl who felt like shedding her shell for once, and the rest of her year level from her school dancing...

I'm shy... I come off as feminine at first, but then I seem tomboyish... I'm really somewhere in between... But at that exact moment, I stopped listening to the logic in my mind and acted before thinking... One moment of impulse and I was in there, dancing... I was the most introverted girl in the grade, and I was DANCING in the middle of a circle, all eyes on me... Respect was gained that day... Lots of respect...

  11. Dude. I'm in Australia... It's just past a scorching summer and the weathers settling down... This place is probably a great haven for anyone sick of snow right now... There's not gonna be fires for a while, and the storms have past... Comfortable winter, here I come!

  12. Depends on what luck you mean.

Dumb Luck wise, Twilight has the worst luck... She's had stuff fall on her head, fallen down stairs... not to mention being adorkably clumsy.

Otherwise, I agree. Twilight's family is really close. Her parents are alive and proud of her, her brother and sister in law adore her, her teacher's the ruler of equestria and she now has 5 amazing friends... She's had a near perfect life, with the exception of a few friendship problems, some *cough* minor injuries, and a lack of friends for a few years.

But Applejack's had a decent life too... She has a large family, she's comfortable in her place, working the farm... Even though she's doing it without her parents, she's got her siblings who love her, and Granny Smith to help out with raising Applebloom. It's why she seems like a BG pony. She's acheived all she wants to acheive, she's living the life she wants, and is happy where she is. Her few quirks (aka, her stubborn nature and pride) have already been explored. There's not much you can build on her...

  13. I must agree with Sir.Flutter Hooves and DX SilverX, even though it seems unfair...

But in Equestria, destiny is a kind, unjudgemental thing. I think it's determined before you are born, but your destiny only becomes apparent once you have it. But the spell mixed up something... It made up memories and switched their marks. I don't think the spell changed their destiny or their talent. It just made those affected think it was their destiny or talent.

Otherwise, how would it have been so simple to change them back?

Also, Fluttershy's remark when she realized her connection to animals. "I feel like this is who I am, this is what I'm meant to do... Like this is, my destiny!"

Their talents and destiny weren't switched, just their marks and memories. It made them think it was what they were meant to do, and made memories to back it up, but it didn't actually change their destiny or talents.

  14. Hey! I'm an Aussie too! Go Aussies! We're so awesome, we can survive here!

Also, can't wait to see your work! I'm pretty good at drawing too, but I'm not about to post anything here... Don't have any way to post things here. No cameras or scanners to use...biggrin.png
