Nope, but if there were a portal of some kind going there I'd spend my life dedicated to protecting it. If people could go there it would become corrupted very quickly. Visa versa too.

How long will you continue being a brony after the show ends?
Fridge replied to Balareth's topic in Sugarcube Corner
The way I see it I always was a Brony, I just didn't know there was a name for it. I'll always like the show even after it finishes and even if/when the fandom dies off. The thing is just because something finishes it doesn't mean that what it gave you has to end too. As I said I was already this way before mlp came along, it just gave me a name to put to it. -
Personally I love Flufflepuff, though I would rather not have her turn up in the show proper. As much as I like her, I think she should be kept seperate.

movies/tv What's a forgotten television show you like?
Fridge replied to Nomadic's topic in Media Discussion
The last train, it's was great sci fi show set in the uk. It shows it's age but I love the setting. I think the syfy channel still show it occasionally though always at silly o'clock in the morning. This is the first episode; http://youtu.be/3ORsA9Y3czs -
Currently I'm playing Legend of Grimrock and Zafehouse Diaries. Both are great games for very different reasons but you have to have the patience to play them, they aren't games for quick action. Zafehouse Diaries is about planning, and interpersonal relationships between survivors and even then things won't always go as you planned. Legend of Grimrock is a dungeon delver like the old Ultima games, it's easy to learn but the difficulty ramps up quickly.

gaming Microsoft exec says original Xbox One licensing was "ahead" of consumers
Fridge replied to long gone's topic in Media Discussion
I think as it stands now the Xbox one can't have an external hard drive attached, there was a report that it will eventually allow one to be attached but what's the bets it's got to be a Xbox approved one? In a way the licensing thing was ahead of console gamers but it wasn't just that, the system itself just isn't ready to go without a physical medium. Part of the reason why gog and steam work so well is because of the deals they give, with steam I don't care that I 'technically' don't own my games simply because I generally have paid less than a third I would in a real shop. Top that off that gog even makes the games totally drm free so you can play offline or copy them to a disc etc. If the Xbox live system could emulate steam etc with those kinds of deals then they would get cut a substantial part of the preowned market in one stroke. -
movies/tv Do you like Star Wars?
Fridge replied to The Cynical Lone Wolf's topic in Media Discussion
I like it but I'm not fanboy. I've played most of the games, watched the movies and even some of the animated series (not the new ones though I mean like Droids and Ewoks). I'm the same with the LotR series, it's good and fun but not amazing. -
Drawing a comic (researching)
Fridge replied to Fridge's topic in Photo Finish's Magics (Visual Art)
Oh I can describe the actions but compared to the images I have in my head it all seems a bit... Hollow. I just think it would translate better as a comic. I'll give the creative writing classes a try though cheers for the suggestion I have been practising my drawing but their still terrible lol. -
Hello to all that have come to read this, I'll try to keep this short For a while now I've been working on a written fanfic series but have found I just can't quite describe the surroundings or the actions of my character as I see them in my head. Perhaps it's a vocab issue but I like to think of it differently. You see, I imagine my characters and stories in the manner of story boards, I can't help it it's just the way my imagination works.. That would be fine but... I can't draw to save my life. I've made many an attempt but let's just say I can't draw a tree from a pony. So I'm trying to see if anyone would be interested in helping me realise my imaginings? All the stories are still a ways off from completion (I have about 30 individual short stories ideas in the pot so far, and 6 are nearing completion). Thank you for taking the time to read and/or respond.

I hear you on this one. I used to live in Saudi Arabia and all the rooms are fitted with AC's, when I returned to England I had so much trouble sleeping because that droning noise was gone. Hell more than once I've woken up because the imaginary AC stopped working lol. Thankfully I've shaken it off, but I'd say I've grown dependant on my phone, I use it for everything from being a satnav, emergency camera, search engine and of course phone.

I didn't have a problem with spike being a dog. The way I thought of it was if ponies are considered the dominant species of Equestria (yes, I know Equestria is a nation not a world) then they in turn are the dominant species in that dimension, so human... Ish. So Spike following means he'd become something that's loyal to humans in that realm, with that logic Spike being a dog makes sense.

How honest are you on the internet (and in real life)?
Fridge replied to NothingIsEverything's topic in General Discussion
I'm extremely honest, both online and off. Mainly because I just don't have a good enough memory to keep a lie up. One lie leads to another ad infinitum. On the extremely rare occasion where I do lie, I mix it with truth so it comes out stronger. But that's very rare indeed and almost always has been reserved for special occasions like surprise birthdays etc. -
Being late, I'm terrible for it. Even though I try my best not to be I often end up at least 10 minutes late. Which sadly has now earned me a reputation for being lazy.

My turn to talk about an ignorant person at Walmart
Fridge replied to TheBronyHeart's topic in General Discussion
If only he knew that pink used to be a colour that was actually associated mainly to men. I don't understand his comment about the government though, unless there's a government sponsored "sensitivity course" or something. -

Your opinion on "the anti brony brotherhood"
Fridge replied to Jamesblorg39welsh's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I'm not bothered at all by them. Why should we be? As a few have said before we're way too large a fandom to take down so easily (and we're growing everyday). Anyway until the day they can actually target people, by hacking them or they start going all Redwatch on us (and by that I mean posting up names, addresses and photos of people online), I'm not going to worry myself about them. I gotta admit after doing a bit of a google search I've noticed that much of their "art work" or propaganda is very typical of what people think of communist Russian propaganda. Edit: odd thought, but does anyone have a clue as to the actual numbers of people in this "brotherhood"? Just curious, because I have a feeling it's less than 40. -
"Feeling Pinkie Keen": is it a true controversy?
Fridge replied to BronyPony's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
The way I think of the moral is more along the lines of; Sometimes you can't find an explanation for things and must take it as read that, this is how things are. That doesn't mean you should search for the WHY of it, but should just accept that some things are yet to be answered. It's not just about religion, but science and well... Anything that is to do with the currently unexplainable. As for getting angry, I don't see why anyone should get angry, it's not like it was ordering you to and when I watched that episode I didn't think it was commenting on religion at all. -
Actually I own a Xbox 360 and a gaming rig, plus I've been around the block more than once having owned quite a few of the previous console gens dating back to the original Nes bouncing between different companies... So not a fan boy. But thank you for tarring me with the same brush. Anyway, the fact of the matter is consoles are always inferior. Admittedly you do need a good rig to beat both the Xbox one and the ps4 on a graphical level. At the end of the day though the games are created by pc's (and macs) tested on them, patched by them and administrated by them. But going beyond that there is the service thats provided, I've used the PSN, Xbox Live and the Nintendo network (I forget what it's actually called) and all of them are lacklustre with very limited selections, uncompetitive pricing and generally bad UI, although PSN trumps both Xbox and Nintendo for use ability. Compared to the selection, service and pricing you get from GOG, greenmangames, humblebundle (both weekly and monthly), gamersgate, steam and origin (as lothesome as EA is) all those networks are severely lacking. The customer support is awful too, all 3 have been near useless when I've had a problem. Then there's the fact you have little to no access to the indie market, so missing out on many wonderful and unique titles. A console does have it's benefits, I switched to them when I found upgrading my pc was too expensive although that had more to do with my own budgeting. It's great that you never have to worry if a game will actually work... But you pay more for the games, generally. Sometimes up to £20 more, and I'm not even comparing that to download cost, I mean I can buy the same game from the same shop yet spend £20 less at times (usually it's £10). Then there's the inability to mod, either your games or the consoles themselves, unless you want to break warranty. Oh yeah and you never own your console (at least in recent generations), you lease it. As for the Xbox One in particular, every annoying thing has been removed... For now. Give them time most of those bits will be snuck in through user agreements and updates that no one will read, and I just don't trust Microsoft. I would actually buy a Xbox One if I believed they wouldn't bring all that nonsense back, except they've made it non backwards compatible. Big deal breaker for me, I want to be able to play my old and beloved games without having to either dig out my old console, buy them again for the Xbox One or keep my old one plugged in. That goes for the PS4 as well. The only console that's come out this generation that's really interested me has been the Ouya, and even that fell sadly flat. I forgive the rant, if only because I've responded with my own diatribe.

Why do gamers fight over Xbox and Playstation?
Fridge replied to ~Rule 63~ Lyeco's topic in Media Discussion
Personally I think it's because of sentimental value and how much you enjoyed certain games (particularly exclusives). For example those who loved Halo and it's affiliated games they side with the xbox and the 360 and will defend it vemenantly. For the PS3 I think it was Killzone and Heavy Rain. They also fight over the networks (Xbox live and the ps network), I can't comment about the ps network because I've never had a Ps, but I've been told good and bad thing about it. I've got a 360 myself, but I don't care about the whole arguement because I take the 4th side that everyone ignores (the 3rd being nintendo). I am a member of the PC gaming master race Sadly what the people involved in the 'console wars' fail to realise is that to be honest there really isn't much difference between Microsoft and Sony, not when you get down to it. At the end of the day graphics are pointless if there isn't a narrative to hook you or good gameplay, and to be honest all consoles, and yes the even pc, often fail that trial. Anyway soon enough the whole thing will be moot if you want to understand what I mean watch this (they explain it far better than I could); http://www.penny-arcade.com/patv/episode/why-console-specs-dont-matter -
Well the fish thing, bare in mind that Fluttershy isn't the one eating the fish. She caught them for her animal friends, just as a dog owner has to feed his dog. A vegetarian may not eat meat, but if they own a dog they certainly have to handle animal products. Now on to animal products... Yes the show depicts that the ponies are using eggs, milk, butter etc but it doesn't actually show where they come from. What I mean by that is for all we know the milk etc could have come by some sort of mutual agreement. It doesn't have to be through exploitation. As regard Fluttershys treatment of her chickens, what part of staring at her chickens is unkind? She's not cruel, she doesn't abuse them in anyway or even threaten them. She just stares. It might be intimidating but it's not unkind, in fact I argue at she was just instilling discipline rather than being mean. Let us also not forget that most members of he cast have not always lived up to their element. For Fluttershy the Iron Will episode also betrays type. I'm not going to try and argue the sheep and mules poi t other than to say.... It was a joke. Nothing more.
