    I'd be much more interested to know if anyone wielded the Elements of Harmony before Luna and Celestia. I mean the elements must have come from somewhere, and I doubt that the royal sisters made them, so who made them and and what was the original reason why?

    I've always felt there was something off about the anthropomorphised mane 6, I put my finger on it early yesterday. They are quite reminiscent to the Bratz Dolls, which I never liked the aesthetics of. Admittedly they haven't got the over sized heads and features, but it's the body shape. There are a number of other things I dislike and design inconsistencies the I feel make no sense but I won't go into them. When it comes to the film I'm willing to give it a shot, but I won't see it in the cinema. Partially because I live in a small town and the cinema won't be showing it, and partially because I'd rather view it at home first before I commit money to it.

    Hmm it changes regularly. It used to be for me that my thoughts would drift to graphical designs and the steps I'd take to create the images I wanted, recently my thoughts have been focused on developing characters and story arcs. Sometimes (like the night just gone) its problem solving something important.

    It's not so much as trying to sound like the band so much as to do as you said, incorporate the best parts. Or perhaps take a melody or effect that could give you an edge. I agree you shouldn't try to sound like something old... Unless that's what you're aiming for, like a covers band or something.

    If you don't learn from the past you are doomed to repeat it, plus looking back at older music can bring good things, every band worth its salt has done it. That's not saying you should wallow in the era though, as many do.

    Well I lived through the 80's, admittedly as a kid, but still... As has been said its easy to look back on the 80's and think "wow they had so much good music back then" but the best stands the test of time. The amount of godawful crap that was broadcast on a daily basis was mind boggling. But that being said, the 80's were a decade very dominated by the British music scene, and I say this from someone that spent most of it outside of the uk, and in turn the British music scene was influenced by the troubles happening within the country itself. The resession, the raise of Thatcher, the miners strike and the Poll tax riots etc. It seems comparatively there is little that has happened in recent years that has had that kind of effect and so some part of those events lives on. Or maybe I'm talking out my arse lol. Update: Oh, just another thought/point, one of the things that probably have brought about this resurgence to some degree is the fact that history has repeated itself a little, especially in old Blighty, and since many songs of that area are political they hold some fresh meaning. Well anyway I find 80's music cringe worthy most of the time.

    What's funny is I've found that most of today's music sucks (at least the stuff that's popular at the moment), so I've gone as far back as the 40's and 50's for swing and jazz. Although my heart will always return to ska, even the modern bands are good in that genre (with some exceptions, of course). But yeah the 80's had some awesome tunes, I just lived through them so I kind of cringe a little when I hear them lol.

    I'll wait until the official announcement but if that is the case I'll just upgrade my pc to play games (thus getting the cheaper games, seriously why are console games more expensive?) and keep my my Xbox and play preowned games on the cheap.

    Lol some of my childhood friends would tell you that I apparently haven't changed a bit and in many ways I haven't. I still act silly because I feel like it, I still give voices to inanimate objects (except now they're in my head rather than out loud), I'm highly moralistic, adventurous and never give in. In regard to those core traits nothing's changed other than most of them have galvanised. Those now strengthened traits have caused new things to appear though. Because of my moralistic side I became interested and involved in environmental issues and my adventurousness gave me the will to explore the world as much as I could. The experience, discoveries and people I met while on these explorations caused me to grow and reevaluate my goals in life on multiple occasions. These moments of reevalution introduced me to a more philosophical view of the world and in turn I became more accepting of people's quirks, but my moralistic side also made it so I could reject certain ideals out of had. But as I said those that know me see I'm the same as I always was under it all.

    My friend met me in the pub while I was wearing an mlp tee my gf had bought me (this was just after Christmas). The worst I got was my friend jake telling me "because I'm wearing ponies I have to buy him a pint" apparently this is a rule lol. The rest carried on as normal.

    Top 3 things I hope for huh? Ok then; 1: The Return of Sombra, this time with more character development, I always felt there was so much that could have been done that they missed out. 2: More about the history of Equestria, specifically the origins of Celestia and Luna (or in fact perhaps on Discord). 3: The mane 6 to go outside of Equestria, like to the Griffon Kingdom or Saddle Arabia. This would potentially allow for a return of a certain griffon in a different setting. I doubt that I'll get 1 or 3 though. Another I'd like to throw in though is perhaps seeing the parents of the mane 6, we've seen and heard Rarity's, been almost told Applejacks are dead and have seen Twilights. An episode where all the parents meet would be great and could do some wonders for Applejacks character (ie being sad due to the lack of parents and discovering that Granny Smith fills the role).

    Tartarus is the name hell or purgatory in some ancient cultures. In this instance the writers have mixed Hades and Tartarus together (as I believe the gates of Tartarus were ungaurded save for the fact they were at the end of the world). In theory what would be behind those gates would be every evil soul that's existed.... I think that's a good enough reason to keep them locked away lol.

    I wouldn't say I'm popular per say, well known and generally liked yes, but not popular. Then again I'm not in school or anything like that. I always just did what I felt was right and made sure to do right by others it seemed to work for me. To be honest it sounds like your mature for your age which others in your school would find intimidating. Later when they grow up a bit they'll likely come to see that your actually a nice person.

    Currently I'm loving the sound track to Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.... So much 80's cheese and synth. It's not my favourite, that title is still held by Full Throttle.

    I can't really help you with the story ideas as I'm using them myself lol. But I can at least try and help with the creative block plus I don't know what kind of writing style you're going for, no sense me giving you slice of life if your going for gore fic etc. I often find that writing down the ideas helps evolve them, sometimes it can add something that felt missing. I'd also recommend reading or looking at material that you normally don't, changing circumstances help the creative juices flow.

A bit to improve the aesthetics Regarding different levels I would add that if levels are incorporated that they should have positive and negative effects. Eg high ground give should better range and lines of sight but increases chance of being shot in turn. Etc

    Not really awkward rather than funny. I have an addon on Firefox called 'ponify' is changes certain words to Equestria eqivilants, for example "everybody" becomes "everypony", I just find it amusing. Anyway, I was sending a group email to some friends arranging a meet up, usually I turn off the addon but I forgot this time. So when I get to the pub we arranged to meet in all my friends kept using the Equestria words.... Lol slightly embarrassing at first but after a few drinks it was all forgotten. I'm totally open about my love of the show so it wasn't all that embarrassing.

    Not a great deal bothers me with the fandom, but there are one or two things. 1- This is my pet peeve. The MASSIVE over reaction that seems to happen when something happens in show, most recently Twilight becoming an Alicorn. I seem to remember one forum member made 3 threads all about how much he hated it and all 3 went to over 1000 replies. Before that was the appearance of Cadance, before that it was Derpy etc etc. 2 - The majority of the fan music. I love that it's being made I just wish it were of better quality. That being said I'm starting to find artists that are fantastic and more to my taste. Perhaps I'm just getting sick of it all being dub step and electronica. 3 - The compulsive desire to create creepy, gory or down right wrong fan fictions. I get that it's human nature to want to see what character x will do in situation y, but some are gore for the sake of it (or because they're trying to be the new cupcakes). I'm a fanfic writer myself and I'm actually doing my best to create a story that blends my characters and the situations they get in but still keep the innocence of the show. 4 - MLP Zealots. I don't think I need to say more. 5 - Those rare few who can't separate what's canon, fanon and their own head canon. All that being said, live and let live. I may disapprove but I won't tell someone to stop.

    Hey all I'm on the beg for hearts here. I'm trying to do the quest to get Twilights dad but I'm short of hearts (about 28). If anyone would be kind enough to send them I'll send some back.... When the friends part of the social bit is working right. Anyway the name of GL is Fridgeater, I'm already on the list on here but it might make life a bit easier

    I went to a comic convention in London, I was on my own as no one I knew had the money to go... Sad times. Anyway while wandering around the various stalls I found the We Love Fine stall. I bought a MLP t-shirt and a Pinkie Pie cutie mark badge. After only an hour of wearing the badge I had racked up over 40 brohoofs! I was amazed to find so many in one place.
