AP testing as in your in AP courses taking tests or AP testing as in to get into AP courses?

Or am I confusing the term AP to something different entirely?

AP tests suck...

AP tests are what students in AP (Advanced Placement) classes take in May to assess their understanding of the subject. They're really long standardized tests done by College Board (who does the SAT) and usually involve multiple choice and between 3-4 essays and the test scores can be transferred to college credits.
