(It's been a quirk of mine ever since my a former English teacher talked about his grandmother, who annotated her books thoroughly. He said that she passed away, but he could still connect with her through her writing. I thought that was metal and I've been happily annotating my books ever since. Helps me pay attention and makes rereads way more fun.)
