Cateye

Cateye was born in Philadelphia to a single mother, unfortunately her mother died giving birth to her and so she was raised by her only living relative, her grandmother Tabbycat. Her childhood wasn't easy because her grandmother was often depressed about the loss of her daughter, though she took good care of Cateye. 

Cateye grew fond of her grandmother's cats and found them easier to get along with than other ponies, often finding herself too scared to talk to the other kids at school. She was eventually diagnosed with severe Social Anxiety, something she was never able to fully overcome. 

Eventually, while Cateye was still young, her grandmother passed away and Cateye was moved to a foster home in Manehattan. She had trouble getting adopted due to her scruffy appearance, her mismatched eyes and her extreme shyness. She kept herself happy by spending time with stray cats or at petshops, and luckily managed to make a friend in Nightlife who was surprisingly kind to her despite her usually teasing attitude. 

Later on she made friends with a stallion Nightlife had introduced into their circle, Midnight Snack and his protective nature created a close bond between the two. Though their relationship caused a rift between her and Nightlife after they started dating, because Nightlife had already been very close to Midnight and felt like there was more to their friendship, and that Cateye had stolen him. 

Eventually Midnight broke up with Cateye because she was too clingy for his liking and he felt he wasn't well equipped to look after her in that way for the rest of his life. However, he never stopped being friends with her, knowing how important it was that she wouldn't be lonely. Their breakup eventually lead to a repaired friendship with Nightlife who was able to become closer to Midnight and even had a brief fling with Cateye as revenge for Midnight ignoring her. 

While she was never adopted and eventually left the system as an adult, she never felt too lonely as long as she had her two friends and her cats.

She is very quiet and gentle, and is often seen with other animals besides cats, though she doesn't like dogs much because they're too loud and excitable. To those she's well acquainted with she is very friendly and usually tries her best even with strangers. She's also incredibly focused, always getting what she needs done in good time and to a good degree of quality. 

She can be clumsy however and her embarrassment often makes her mess up further. Her fondness for rolling around with cats and letting them play with her mane also makes her appear messy as she never bothers to brush her hair or spend a long time on make-up, but she does keep herself clean. She can also seem clingy, once she's formed a bond with ponies she worries they'll get bored or frustrated with her and leave and so spends a lot of time doing things she thinks ponies will like, and is keen to spend long hours with them. 

She's a small, somewhat cat-like unicorn mare with black fur and white socks, she always wears a red collar for this reason. Her mane and tail are mid-length and usually tangled and messy, and she rarely perks her ears up, with them usually falling flat against her head. She has heterochromia and so one of her eyes is blue while the other is orange. 

Her cutie mark is a pair of green cat's eyes and represents her love for felines.
