Her cutie mark is the silhouette of two swans, one black and one white with orange beaks, in the shape of a heart and on a bed of pink flowers.

Backstory:

Eustoma's mother, an Equestrian unicorn named Phoenix Aura, had fallen in love with a crystal pony named Blue Sheen and moved to the Crystal Empire to be with him, which is how Eustoma and her two older, unicorn, crystal sisters Iolite and Ruby Aura were born there. When Sheen had passed from an illness not long before Eustoma was born, Phoenix left the Crystal Empire with her foals and moved in with her mother, Evening Air, in Vanhoover.

Living on the outskirts of the city meant Phoenix had ran into a herd of traveling buffalo. She had always been fascinated by them and their culture, so it didn't take long for her to grow close to one of them, a handsome bull named Rumblingearth. Earth decided to stay with Phoenix and marry her. Phoenix soon gave birth to his first child, a girl considerably bigger than pony foals but manageable to birth naturally. She was named Earth Spirit. About a year later, Phoenix had a more difficult birth, this being Earth's second child which was way larger, almost the size of his mother. He had to be saved through a C-Section due to being so big. He was named Blazing Aura. Phoenix's body had been damaged beyond repair, so she does not have the strength to go through another pregnancy.

As time went on, Earth become more restless and irritable. He clashed with Phoenix over the raising of young. Harsher punishment is given to buffalo calves because they are strong enough to endure it, which is how Earth was taught to be a parent. He didn't understand that ponies were more fragile, and believes they're soft and need to toughen up. Earth was also not happy with his living situation. While the house had been renovated to accommodate the massive bull, he still was clumsy and felt closed in and stuffy indoors. Frequently, the couple argued in raised voices, always ending with Earth storming out of the house and not returning for days. When Earth's herd returned for their yearly stampede, Earth had decided to return to them. Phoenix was upset, but understood that Earth was happier with them, and would always visit once a year.

When Eustoma turned 13, a year after her grandmother, Evening, died, Eustoma had been taking care of a neighbor's dog for bits when one day she had been invited inside by the owner for cookies. After getting comfortable, the neighbor, an elderly unicorn mare named Pearlescent, revealed that she had an ancient, magical object in the form of a white cloak covered in real swan feathers. Pearl explained that it had the ability to morph the wearer into a swan. She added that she was revealing this to Eustoma because she believed that she was perfect one to inherit it, as none of her blood relatives were worthy. The mare then got to work teaching Eustoma how to use the cloak, learn to control the unfamiliar body, and how to shift back to pony. The lessons ended when Pearl decided to retire to a nearby nursing home, not long after her dog passed away. Eustoma was an expert in the cloak at this time, so Pearl was confident in leaving it in her care. Eustoma rarely let the cloak out of sight, wearing it almost 24/7. She never told anyone just how special her cloak was in the fear it would end up in the wrong hooves.

Personality:

Eustoma is a huge introvert. She is shy, quiet, and nervous in public, but talkative and funny around those she's comfortable with. She also has strong sympathy for everyone around her, no matter how bad they are, but she can still be fearful of them. Eustoma finds it hard to hate anyone for a long period of time. She can hate someone in the heat of the moment, but it fades quickly and then she feels terrible for having wished ill will on them. But Eustoma is cowardly, and would find it difficult to stand up for anyone despite her sympathy for them. As for friends, Eustoma finds it difficult to make any. In fact, she fears having any, because of the chance she could lose them or mess up and end up with them hating her. Eustoma is more of a follower than a leader, and she can easily buckle under enough pressure. She prefers the safety of solitude and sticking with her family, though it does get lonely at times, though not enough for Eustoma to actually do something about. More than anything, Eustoma is scared of accidentally offending someone, having a misunderstanding, or making the tiniest mistake. Her stomach lurches when they happen and she can't help but beat herself up over them years after.
