Common to most Zebras, Jack has a dull grey base colored coat with various striped markings all over his body, along his back, his back and forelegs and some over his face and muzzle.
While his mane is styled in an original fashion in short dreadlocks, his mane is actually of unnatural coloring, it used to be a simple plain grey color but has now been dyed a mixture of sky blue and pure white, this change to his mane is evidenced by the plain grey color of his tail.
Being a Zebra influenced by modern times, he likes to dress up in very bright, stylish looking clothing, although he keeps his amber rings around his forelegs both for the sake of tradition and to remind him of his roots.
Male Zebra Black Jack's cutie mark consists of a simple yet large loop that spans out in four directions, it symbolizes Unity. https://buffy.mlpforums.com/77b2bf1046c59033aa28901b04a5579d.pngBlack Jack may look like a laid back and chilled kind of zebra, and most of the time he is, but he is also rather reserved, preferring to use his emotions within the songs that he writes rather than expressing it like a pony would.
Say for example if something got him rather angry, rather than express this verbally he would keep it inside and remain a face of calm and stores that emotional energy inside himself, because of this those that don't know him well enough often make the mistake of assuming he is unfazable and can shirk off anything, when in truth he is just as sensitive as any other pony, he just expresses it very differently.
Besides this Jack is rather patient, especially to others, he knows that there's still much he needs to learn from Equestria and so likes to keep an open mind.
He's a bit of joker with the witty one-liners and jokes, and he also likes to flirt....sweet Celestia does he like to flirt...despite having a girlfriend (Which is ok because she likes to flirt too, which makes him jealous.)

Well this is a story,
How my life got flipped up tured right upside down,
And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right back
I'll tell you all how I became the Zebra you all know as Black Jack.

In a land to the east, past the Celestial sea,
Before yours truly even knew, what he was going to be,
I earned a passion for the sound from the beat of the drum,
And before I knew it I was dancin' to our tribal rhythm,
Inside me I could swear that I could feel extremely primal,
And everyone I knew surrouned me now in a huddle,
I couldn't help myself, and like a fire it spread quickly,
Throughout me, then suddenly, I yelled out like a banshee,
We sang all day, we danced all night,
And by the end we must have really looked quite the sight,
But to my delight, what did I find?
My very own mark on my little behind,

The elder said, "This mark right here is really rather special,"
"And with it you have the power to wield the music central,"
"To fulfill the prophecy,...and bring us all unity,"
Ok, look, hold up, see...his rhymes were really dreadful,

Fast forward to the time when I came to leave the tribe,
To go out and spread out unity that our elder did describe,
I bowed to the crowd, I told my Ma I'll make her proud,
and that I loved her more as any son, should have allowed,
So the grass plains to the east is where I started my quest,
And I won't lie my heart was beating hard within my chest,
It was going to be hard and trecherus at best, was I up to the test?
Well, who would have guessed?
Grassland, Swampland, Mountainland, Coastland,
Couldn't catch a break, I was busy in the quicksand,
Don't even get me started on all the little nasty,
I could have sworn that manticore was looking somethin' sassy,

Finally I arrived with Manehatten in my sight,
And about time to, I had one heck of a fight,
But every time I tried to go and satisfy my appetite,
Guess what? None would serve me in spite!

These city folks were realy starting to get on my nerves,
It was hard for me to keep my cool with their little nasty words,
"Scram, Va-moose, Hit the Bricks and Shoo",
How'm I gonna help here? I didn't have a clue,
But as I wondered the streets though, I had a breakthrough,
It came to me as a sound that got better as it grew,
These ponies had their own music? Huh, well who knew?
But I figured right then how to make my destiny come true,
I'll bring the music of my kind, a sneak preview,
And mix it with this new sound, like we would with a brew,
I'll turn it into something new that'll make these ponies wanna queue,
And that's how your's truly went and gone and made his debut.

So now that you've heard my tale by listening to my verse,
Allow me to introduce myself, hello my name is Zerse,
Please hold your applause, I don't mean to make ya antsy,
But I got work to do, Jack Blacks gettin' busy.
