Personality: Some ponies see a glass, and say it's half-full. Others would see the same glass and call it half-empty. Asquerade would see this glass, realise it is fifty percent full, and take it while everypony else argues about it, making sure to leave behind an illusionary glass behind.

Asquerade is an opportunist and analyst, with an excellent eye for detail and unrivalled skill with illusions. He's smart, and he knows it. He specialises in mind-related magic, such as illusions, memory altering, memory-copying, mind-reading and mind-control, but he tries to avoid using mind-control as he thinks it makes things too easy.

Asquerade can find beauty in almost anything when he wants to, and he can be very charming when he wants to be. He believes that an intelligent mind is more attractive than any body, and he loves smart Mares.

Asquerade loves a challenge, and he'll never turn down a good puzzle. He really, really likes chess, and he plays chess against himself regularly. He doesn't like using illusions on himself, but when he does, he makes sure to use obviously-fake illusionary objects, so that he won't end up like most of the great illusionists he knows of: Trapped within their own mind, using their skill with illusions to give themselves an illusionary fantasy-world where everything goes perfectly for them.

When reading, he doesn't read like a normal pony. Instead, he'll grab five or six books with his Unicorn magic and make them hover around his head, and he'll speed-read them all at once, his eyes darting from book to book, his entire body tense. He'll start shaking and sweating after a while, but he insists that he does not do this. When reading in this way, he tends to lose track of time, forgetting to eat and sleep. He dislikes sleeping, and when he does sleep, he rarely dreams.

Asquerade's skills with illusions are unparalleled. He can fool all of the five senses, all known forms of supernatural sixth senses, any magical spells he knows of, and every other method of detecting illusions. He can even create illusions of concepts, such as 'Beauty', 'Confusion' or 'Horror'. These are usually different for everypony, and in some cases the affected ponies end up unable to remember anything about the illusion they saw, besides how 'Insert chosen concept here' it was.

When he was young, Asquerade had no friends, so he used a modified version of a semi-forbidden triplication spell. He expected it to give him friends, but instead, he ended up having his mind split into thirds. One third stayed as Asquerade, and the other two became "Red" and "Blue". Those are not their full names, but they are the only parts of their names they are willing to reveal. Red is passionate, energetic, quick-thinking and violent, but honourable. He likes to make plans up as he goes along, relying on his quick mind to cover for his lack of foresight. He will usually be the one to offer the violent or show-offy solution, which Blue will reject for its inefficiency. Blue is cold, meticulous, efficient and almost soullessly logical. He likes to plan thirty moves ahead of everypony else, making things as overcomplicated as possible just because he can. He'll usually be the one to offer the pragmatic, morally questionable solution, which Red will reject for its lack of honour, and due to it taking away all of the fun. Red and Blue have been arguing since the day they were created, but they still consider each other friends, and they try not to let their arguments get personal. Asquerade created another spell, one that temporarily releases Red and Blue, creating Unicorn bodies for them out of magic. When this spell is active, Red and Blue get one mane-colour each, while Asquerade's original body loses its colour completely, fading to a dull grey. When all three parts of Asquerade are together, mind-control, brainwashing and techniques like The Stare will not work on him, due to them only being able to target one part of his mind at a time.
