Appearance: He has a grey coat, and a black mane and tail with streaks of red. He has several scars on his face. He has bright green eyes. He wears either a brown cloak or a thick apron that he uses when he is working in the forge.
Cutie Mark: A dark red, slightly curved blade, crossed with a hammer with a six point star in the background. He is an expert with forging soul blades, as well as his heavy experience with forging with starmetal.
Personality: He is grim and short tempered. He tends to lose his patience extremely quickly with anyone disturbing him from his work, although he can keep it more in check when talking to his client. He is quite blunt. However, he is extremely caring of all of his weapons that he has forged, treating them as one would treat cherished belongings. Darkblade is especially caring of his blade Soulripper, which, when not working, he can be seen polishing, caressing, or sharpening.
Backstory: Darkblade Steel was born in Ponyville to a pair of blacksmiths that specialized in horseshoes and farming equipment. As soon as Darkblade started his school, he would stay up late at night, helping his father with his forging, while learning how to be a blacksmith in his own right. One night, however, he saw a meteor streak down and land somewhere around the light forest that surrounded the schoolhouse.

On his way to school the following day, he found the meteor. Mixed within it, he saw a silvery metal mixed into the rock. He stuffed it into his backpack and, when he got home, sneaked into his father's forge and quickly and quietly, forged a blade with it. When his father came home, he was quite surprised to see his son sharpening a blade and brandishing his new cutie mark.

He quickly excelled in the art of forging blades. His mother was glad that he was taking up the family buisness of being a smith. His father... not so much. Yet, he knew better than to get in the way of his son's destiny, but when Darkblade was offered a journeyman position to a stallion in Fillydelphia, he was a little too enthusiastic when he signed it.

Darkblade's journeyman phase passed without much excitement, and then he began to search around the city for he silvery meteor metal he called starmetal, selling his special blades to whoever could buy them. He had two restrictions- one, if they were known criminals, then he refused to sell to them. Second, he made his blades- or whatever the customers wanted him to- on a contract-first, then a first come first serve basis.

He would stay in Fillydelphia, occasionally leaving to find of buy some of the silvery metal. He found himself with many deals with Canterlot nobles in exchange for the starmetal in their collections. He also found himself with several commissions from the Night Guard. Once a year he visits his home in Ponyville to check on his aging parents. They seem to be doing fine for now, but he worries that soon they will be unable to make a living due to their age...
