Appearance: At first sight, he looks like an insane Earth Pony. in actuality, his horn broke halfway off due to an awful accident from a foreign sonic rainboom. He doesn't look like once-was royalty, but after his banishment, he kept his royalty hairstyle from a far-off pony kingdom called Latania. With his dice Cutie Mark, muffled tail, and small irises, it's impossible to mistake this pony for anypony else.

Cutie Mark: His cutie mark was gained at a very young age. Once his luck was discovered, he gained a pair of dice on his flank to represent it.

Personality: After a horrid magic accident from a Sonic Rainboom, the scene left this Duke insane for life. It caused his irises to shrink, and inverted his emotions. Duke Pool used to twitch a lot, but therapy from other ponies stopped it.

Backstory: The duke saw the rainbow. It was a beautiful sight. He noticed that it seemed to be growing. "Duke! You must get out of there!" The scream awakened him from his daydreaming. He noticed that the speed of the rate it was growing was very astounding. His smile faded away as he realized it was not a rainbow, but a Sonic Rainboom. He quickly turned to run. He immediately decided to stop. His feet had grinded into the ground in the suspense. He was officially a statue, frightened into becoming stoic. <br /><br />He barely had time to think as he turned around to see that the pilot of the rainboom had realized that her inability to successfully create a Sonic Rainboom would cost a small pony his life.<br /><br />With a vast array of color and deafening crackles and screams of horror, it was over. "No." Duke Pool thought, "For that was the rain. Where is the boom?" Duke was right. The boom had to come. And it did.<br /><br />The sound had came exactly fourteen seconds after the explosion. The color traveled so quickly that it left the sound behind. Everyponie's thinking was interrupted by the loudest "CRACKOOOOOOOM!" they had ever heard.<br /><br />It was over. After what seemed like hours, a pony emerged from the firy, burning rubble. His eyes showed fear, the kind that could craze anypony. "It's the Duke! He is alive!" As all of Latania went to check on the Duke, they noticed something.<br /><br />"He isn't moving.", somepony said as they led Latania to where the Duke stand, right in the middle of the entire catastrophe. "My... horn..."<br />He didn't know how he could slip the words out. "Oh my, his horn is gone!" The queen bellowed. <br /><br />None of them saw where it landed. Right into the heart of the poor pegasus that piloted the Sonic Rainboom. Except for Duke Pool. He was the only pony that watched her bleed out.<br /><br />After six months, the court of Latania had bestowed upon The Duke the worst punishment that is available to royalty. Banishment.<br /><br />"It technically is your fault... It was your horn that killed her." his classroom bully said to him. The Duke said nothing. Just stood wide eyed with fear. The Duke did something illogical. He started laughing.<br /><br />The entire building stared at him in dismay. Their fear of him turned to pity when he said, "Death is just an illusion!" after each laugh.<br /><br />The road was long and hard. After he walked across the entire world, Duke Pool came across Ponyville. The people there were nice, and even helped him build a robot snake. It became his only companion. Slithered by him in a clunkish manner, always.<br /><br />"What does your cutie mark mean?" The Duke looked at his flank. He didn't even realize. Although, That was the worst question that Twilight Sparkle had ever asked, because she recieved the worst answer. The Duke retold the entire story, and from that day forward, everyone knew he was insane.<br /><br />"You're the luckiest pony I've ever seen for surviving that!" The Duke glanced at his flank again. "So the dice mean luck..." The Duke smiled the most awkward smile ever, and started chuckling again. <br /><br />"My grandpapa died recently in Cloudsdale." Duke Pool overheard. The Duke walked over to the two girls, one comforting the other, who is crying over a lost relative. Their agony turned to disgust when The Duke started laughing. It was the most offended that anypony could ever be. They thoguht about it awhile, and felt immediately better when The Duke said "Death is just an illusion."
