Species: Unicorn

Appearance: A smaller, more elegant and clean-cut version of his father, Rambler, except that he has a horn. His most prominent features are his striking green eyes, for which he was named.

Cutie Mark: A brilliantly cut emerald. He is a gem-cutting prodigy and has the same gem finding magic his mother does.

Personality: A strange combination of his father and mother's traits, he takes mostly after his father, but still has the refined manners and grace of his mother when he chooses to use them. He also shares his mother's legendary generosity and love of all things beautiful. He may seem effeminate at times, but he is more than willing to get his hooves dirty if necessary. Fiercely loyal to his friends, he will defend their honor as well as his own at all costs, even sometimes getting into fights because of it. Much to his mother's dismay, he takes after his father in that he's always willing to fight if the need arises, and often gets in trouble as a result. Having inherited Rarity's beauty, grace, and charm, as well as Rambler's silver tongue and general likability, Emerald can be very charismatic when the situation demands it.

Backstory: A product of the unlikely marriage of Rarity and the earth pony Rambler, he spent much of his childhood traveling with his father, from whom he learned many survival skills. When not traveling, he lives with his parents in Canterlot, where he works for his mother, cutting gems which she uses for her outfits. Being only half Unicorn, his magic isn't very strong, something which he has often been teased for, leading to several fights throughout his childhood (much to his mother's dismay). Thankfully, his father taught him how to fight, as well as how to charm his way out of trouble. He is very close to both of his parents, especially his father, who he idolizes.
