• Gallid Switvalker

    Mr.Giggles
    • Age: 18

      Gender: Male

      Species: Non-Pony

Appearance: He stands at 5’ 11” with short, unkempt hair with a silver streak starting from the apex of his head and cutting through the chestnut brown hair like a scar. His clothes are simple to allow maximum movement during combat; he wears a darkened orange sweater with the right sleeve in ruins. He wears dark gray colored jogging pants with a thin orange strip down the left seam. He wears black sneakers with the god, Mercury, engraved on the sides that give off a wispy white hue. On top of the sweater, he has a very thin opened black vest with white fur on the inside. His right hand has what looks like a purplish, black vine that wraps around his hand, leaving the fingers and knuckles exposed to his natural skin color. The vine proceeds to wind up and around his arm, all the way to his shoulder, only to disappear underneath his clothing.

      Cutie Mark: N/A

Personality: Gallid dislikes company other than his teachers because he fears that those around him will die horrifying deaths. He is afraid of himself and tries to avoid using The Soul Burn. He will not sleep without The Dawn Walker because it is the only memento he has of his mother. As long as he holds it, he feels less fear. Gallid is essentially a jerk with a very big heart; He has a very aggressive and demeaning personality; he puts others down because he wants to build them back up to be prepared for others such as himself. He is well aware of the caution most keyblade wielders show around him, specifically because of the mark of darkness. He has no problem performing a task that a blacksmith can do, however he will most likely not volunteer himself simply because performing the task reminds him of his father.

Backstory: Gallid grew up as the child of a blacksmith. He was taught under the careful eye of his father and from the cherished love of his mother. They watched as he grew into a young teenager filled with compassion and strength. He had an unusual amount of strength built up due to him working with his father at the forge; they swung the blades to make sure each was of adequate proportion and tempered to perfection. On his 14th birthday, the unthinkable would happen; his world fell to the darkness known as the Heartless. He stood with his father and prepared to fight off these creatures. However, even the blades made by an expert blacksmith could not harm these beasts. He watched his father fall and just before they came for him, his mother grabbed him and pulled him back away from the creatures. She was carrying a strange weapon, a giant key. She pushed back these creatures with a weapon of such grace and beauty that the blade seemed to shine like a sunrise. However, her strength only lasted so long and there were simply too many. Finally, the Heartless gathered and made for one large attack. *Clang! Clang! Clang! ... Thud…* The blade fell to the ground, just in front of the boy shortly followed by his mother. She simply smiled and said “Take the Dawn, even in the dark… it will stay with you.” She closed her eyes and the giant Heartless turned to the teen. He quickly grabbed the blade and pointed it at the giant with a horrified look. Tears flowed down the boy’s face and fear ran along his spine. Every nerve in his body told him to run, but he was petrified. The giant Heartless had jagged teeth creep along into a crooked smile. A voice whispered into the back of his mind, “We have found a host…” Gallid screamed and swung the keyblade toward the giant, however shortly after he blacked out, he found himself falling continuously through perpetual darkness.

Voices whispered, talked, and mocked him as he fell, “…you didn’t try hard enough…. Too weak… useless… feed your anger… Hate… blame them…” Who was “them”? What did the voice want? It crawled up his body and whispered into his ears, “They are the reason for your troubles… They are the cause… They are why we exist, to cleanse… purify… purge!!” He awoke immediately and clambered to his feet and heard voices whisper in his ears… “My lord… put your hand in front of you; call out your tool of judgment.” Gallid stuck his hand in front of him and a blackened cryptic blade appeared before him. Violet flames emerged to create a sharpened edge to the blade. Gallid felt strange; he didn’t know how to react. It was as if his body moved of its own accord. He could only watch as his hand was raised and a darkened portal appeared. He struggled not to go into the portal; however, he had no choice but to walk into it. He felt his whole body twist, turn and wrap around only to be dropped from the sky onto what looked like a busy city street with bustling carriages and exotic creatures pulling carts and wagons. However, what Gallid saw were beasts, mouths, and faces trying to claw out at his will to live. He didn’t want to be left alone in the darkness anymore. He took his blade and carved through one of the beasts like butter. Unfortunately, what Gallid didn’t see was that after killing it in rage, a Heartless sprouted from the corpse.

From there, the suffering had spread like wildfire, and this cycle repeated many times over until he came to a very different kind of world. He landed in a lake this time; he had been battle hardened and wary. He did not want to face the darkness, but he saw it everywhere and it seemed to follow him. He came across what looked like a pride of lions, but to Gallid it was a den of monsters. He lunged at them before they could be prepared to harm him; he cut down one instantly which seemed to disperse the rest of his demons. Suddenly, Gallid felt a wind pass him and hit the beast that he had cut down. He turned slowly to where the wind originated from. A very bright light shined down on Gallid, and it hurt to look upon such brilliant light. He heard a very gruff voice, “Poor fool… lost in darkness.” Shortly after hearing that he felt something very heavy hit him in the temple causing him to lose consciousness. He awoke looking at a star filled sky. Completely confused, he lifted himself up, feeling the pain throbbing in his head and gave a perplexed look. He was startled to see a man sitting on a rock eating a big chunk of meat. Many questions swirled in his mind and confusion ensued as Gallid tried to piece together what had happened. He felt a surge of agony run up his right side and he winced in pain. He opened his eyes back in the location where the man was, but he wasn’t there. Gallid then felt a very sharp jab hit him in the shoulder, “Sane are we? You should be grateful I didn’t kill you… yet… now bring it out.” Gallid was confused then felt a second harder jab, “you know what I mean boy now bring it out.” Gallid reached his right hand forward and paused completely petrified, he hadn’t noticed it the first time… there was a vine that wrapped itself around his arm. “WHAT IS THIS?!?”… “Darkness seems to like you boy, now hurry up and bring out the blade or else I might let it permanently take you.” Gallid knew the man was much stronger than he was, so he could only obey. He focused again, but something strange happened. Something appeared in his left hand rather than his right. Gallid looked at his left hand and gagged slightly; the blade that he had taken from his fallen mother was in his hand. He didn’t understand where the other had gone. The man grabbed Gallid and lifted him off the ground, “So there is still a chance for you after all.” He then turned away from Gallid muttering under his breath something along the lines of ‘damn lucky.’

The man explained that what Gallid had was a keyblade, a weapon used to fight off beings known as Heartless and that a curse had been placed on Gallid. With the man’s help, Gallid was able to use the curse to his advantage; he had learned to summon a second keyblade and proceeded to use both keyblades at once. The man explained that having the dark keyblade out would cause Gallid to slowly fall to darkness. If he did fall, he would return to the world of illusions where everything appeared as an enemy to Gallid. He also explained that treating Gallid was difficult enough because the boy couldn’t be healed fully by various healing magics. The man went on to explain that even with a high level healing spell, a substantial portion of dark energy would remain in Gallid. Finally the man laughed to himself and said, “I have more important matters to attend to,” so Gallid was dropped through to another world called “Radiant Gardens.” Here, Gallid was confronted by a Keyblade master, who strangely enough didn’t recognize the man who had taught him so far. “Who was that man…?” Gallid thought. Regardless, Gallid learned to effectively perform combat using his keyblades and attempted to learn basic magic, however magic seemed to backfire every time he attempted to cast a spell; his right arm would react and cause him pain.
