Personality: He's a tough and rowdy pony who's not afraid to get his hooves dirty. He will protect anyone that's in trouble and would die to protect Luna, but most of all he wouldn't let anything happen to Twilight or anypony she cares about. He's sweet and gentle when he's off duty but has a great sense of Honor when working.

Backstory: Born to two unicorns in Yonderhill he was quick to get into the power of magic giving his parents the run of their lives trying to keep up with him. His magic was so strong that his parents enlisted the aid of Princess Celestia who placed a seal on him to suppress some of his magic until he was older and could control it. His infant years were a mess of silly pranks and rowdiness that his poor parents had to go through before they finally got him under control.<br /><br />When he was 6 he was enrolled in Celestia’s School for Gifted Ponies which was where he met Twilight Sparkle for the first time. He had made several attempts to communicate with her but found it hard since she kept to herself. He found that Twilight read a lot and considered her an egghead, but once he saw who her older brother was he was envious. He ended up making Shining his rival since shining was so strong and popular he wanted the same. He then found himself doing the same thing that he thought was only for eggheads. He started learning more and more about magic and magical combat. When he got to be 10 he started training more and more in combat after getting his first Kunai from his mother much to his father’s disagreement. It wasn’t long before he was catching the eyes of all the upper class ponies and started to gain respect.<br /><br />When he was 15 he hit the moment of his life even though he hadn’t gotten his cutie mark. One day while Twilight was being picked on her brother had stepped in to protect her. Only even with his magical knowhow there were still too many of them for even him to handle. While pinned down and getting beaten up on Ignis stepped in. Upon getting a thorough thrashing it was only when he was backed into a corner did he draw his Kunai and threatened the ponies. Upon cutting one on the cheek they ran off and he helped Shining and Twilight back to their home. It was at that point that he earned his cutie mark for protecting his friends. For the next year he spent time with Twilight hanging out when she didn’t have her nose in a book and eventually became mare and coltfriends. <br /><br />Their love was short lived as Celestia had Ignis start private training to become one of her guards at 17 and it forced him to make a choice. Choosing his place in the castle over Twilight he always regretted not going the other way. He spent the next years trying to surpass Shining after agreeing to challenge each other to become stronger. He became one of Celestia’s royal guards at 18, the youngest yet but very disciplined about his work. When Twilight freed Luna Celestia became worried that their enemies would try to attack Luna even though she was strong. Celestia hoof picked Ignis to be one of Luna’s personal knights. The small group of four was later called The Midnight Guard. It was a feat that Luna praised when he’d taken down two packs of timber wolves to protect her when she was injured on a mission. Once he gained this new level Celestia removed his seal releasing the rest of his power and Luna made him head knight. After that He tried to keep in touch with Twilight but things didn’t go very well as she never returned any of his letters. <br /><br />When he turned 21 and he heard that Shining was Marrying Princess Cadence his heart sank as he was once again one upped by the popular Stallion. He was excited to see his old love Twilight but it was cut out when Luna posted him on guard duty and the Changeling invasion didn’t help the matters much. When Luna saw how tired Ignis was getting she gave him some time off and luckily it was just after the mishap with magic causing everyponies destinies and cutie marks to be changed. He took the time off to go and see Twilight in Ponyville and ended up getting mobbed by Pinkie on day one. He ended up finding Twilight in the Library of course with her nose stuck in a book. He was more surprised to see that she hadn't ascended to the rank of Alicorn like he thought. When he revealed who he was all he could do was unload all of his feelings. He was surprised to have Twilight do the same both never really falling out of love for each other. <br /><br />They went back to dating shortly after that even though Ignis’s position meant a lot of time away from her. Within two years Ignis asked Twilight to marry him. At their wedding Ignis decided to put all the rivalry behind him for the time and focus on being there for Twilight. Ignis eventually moved in with Twilight at the Library and they found it a wonderful place for their new love. Although Ignis’s position called him away a lot Twilight never left his side. He loved that she was always there if he’d had a bad day and he returned the feeling for her. Now 24 Twilight and Ignis are now expecting their first foal only having just found out and couldn’t be more excited.<br />
