Appearance: He is yellow with black eyes and and black and yellow mane and tail. He normally has a pretty serious look. He is skinny yet a little taller than other ponies.

Cutie Mark: His cutie mark is a cloud that is shooting lightning in all directions. It symbolizes his uncanny ability to predict and attract lightning.

Personality: He is a rather serious pony. (You would be too if lightning followed you everywhere.) He doesn't normally smile unless it's something that truly makes him happy. Other than that he wears a serious frown everywhere. He doesn't get many jokes and tends to ignore them. (He's kind of a buzz kill at parties.) He enjoys sleeping in the clouds. His house is also made of clouds. (Kind of like Rainbow Dash's except no rainbow waterfalls.)

Backstory: He was born in Cloudsdale and was raised there. He finished at the top of his class but was constantly picked on because of lightning's strange attraction to him. This ultimately led to his nick name, Lightning Rod. It isn't his real name but it is used so frequently that he has adopted it as his name. When he was young and it was his first day of school, he stepped outside and made his way to the school. They were having flying lessons and he messed up and flew right into a lightning cloud. He was struck several times but miraculously survived. Ever since then lightning has been attracted to him and he can seem to predict it. The next day his cutie mark appeared. When he got older he was an honer student at Junior Flight Camp and he was close rivals with Rainbow Dash. They would always race and she would always beat him by a hair. As he began to turn into adulthood he moved to Ponyville where his talent was quickly noticed by the Mayor. She hired him to predict any fowl lightning storms approaching. He has been living there in his cloud home just above Ponyville ever since.
