Appearance: Pony: Rain has a pale blue body and darker blue eyes, and a blue striped mane. She’s short for a pony. Her true form (before she became Rain) is pure white with distinctive pale blue eyes, who is similar in shape to the royal family (tall and slender).<br /><br />Human: As a human, Rain is extremely short-about 5”3 ½. She’s a little too thin and a little too pale, and her eyes are usually ringed by dark circles. They range from nearly black-grey to light blue, depending on her mood. Her hair is thick and wavy and hangs down past her shoulders, and is a rich blonde-brown. She has freckles across the bridge of her nose and a strong nose and soft mouth. She’s quite pretty but doesn’t give much thought to her appearance and wears baggy sweaters most of the time.<br /><br />Rain's entire left side is covered in scarring. Cutie Mark: Most people automatically assume that Rain’s cutie mark is just a simple raindrop, which aligns with her name and also reflects her pegasus birth. However, Rain’s cutie mark is actually a teardrop, which reflects her traumatizing and dark past, and her ability to pull through in the most dire and frightening of circumstances. Personality: Before: Before the events of Discord’s Legion, Rain was the typical teenage pegasus, as she had no memory of her past (see Backstory). She didn’t have a care in the world and dreamed of what all teenagers dream of-being famous and rich. She was bold, brutally honest and blunt, and not the type to make you feel good solely because you were upset. She told it like it was. Add that to frightening hyperactivity and you have a ticking time bomb. She had a soft spot, though, and was fiercely loyal if you got to know her. However, she often came across as cruel and arrogant, and could be horribly rude if she wanted to be. She also had a very weak mental state and if placed under extreme stress lapsed into suicidal fits because of her past, and is the biggest klutz you will ever meet-she’ll just fall over for no apparent reason (see Backstory).<br /><br />After: Rain’s still not the type of person to tell you falsities. However, after Discord’s Legion, Rain lost her carefree side. Her mind had deteriorated even more severely and she was harsh and very dark most of the time. Her clumsy side has also grown worse. She is usually found taking pills, drinking, and cutting. She was in a relationship with Shadow (character by Hypno) at this point, and while part of her loved him fiercely the rest hated him for hurting her so much. However, Rain was so desperate for love that she allowed herself to be broken multiple times in the name of it.<br />She has a weakness for those who are broken like her.<br />She is brutally honest and doesn't hold back any thoughts.<br />

Backstory: Rain was born under the name Torri to a family of extremely ambitious, influential, and vicious pegasi, and was from birth betrothed to a son of a unicorn family who were lethal and dabbled in dark arts, named Dinistrio, also known as Oak Leaf. At first the two despised one another but slowly fell in love, becoming inseparable by the time she was eight and he was eleven.<br />The union of the families was to overthrow the throne by combining the powers of the pegasi and the unicorns. Rain had the talents that were rare and useful (see Other section), not to mention being very beautiful and charming. Oak was the chosen one of his family, the seventh of a seventh, and extremely powerful, his magic surpassing most limits. As a team, the two could easily take the throne and rule.<br />After Oak dishounored the family, his parents kidnapped Rain and had her brutally tortured and mutilated before his eyes as means of punishment. Oak flew into a rage and killed most of the family off, including multiple servants, before freeing Rain and escaping with her. They were only nine years old. <br />Oak’s parents were intrigued by their sons abilities, which surpassed their expectations, and instantly sent others to find them. Their orders were to slowly and brutally kill Rain before his eyes, making her suffer as much as possible, so he remembered his place in the world and never had anyone holding him back. Rain heard the guards discussing how to kill her and told Oak to allow them to kill her or kill her himself and flee, so he never had her to hold him back and slow her down. Oak went berserk upon hearing this plan and killed the guards, allowing them to escape.<br />The two continued to run for the next several years. Rain was still never quite the same after her torture-she became sensitive and was prone to shaking fits, and as she grew she was clumsy from muscle and brain damage. Therefore, Oak was even more protective of her, and never told her about his nighttime activities that kept him powerful so she didn’t regard him as a monster (see Oak’s Character profile for more information of his story and perspective).<br />When they were thirteen and sixteen, Oak hadn’t recharged his power in a while, and was wounded in a battle with a gang who had tried to rape Rain. At this point, there was an enormous search for them, and they were easily found. <br />In their last moments together, Oak kissed Rain and told him to always remember him. He then proceeded to use the last of his power to alter her appearance to those of two ponies who wanted a child, in addition altering their memories to think she was theirs-and then to erase her memory entirely of her life, so that if she was ever discovered and pressed for information on him, they had nothing to hurt her for. He then teleported her to their home and fled before he was captured to never be seen again.<br />Rain went to live in Ponyville when she was fifteen in order to discover a new place, and lived with Mr. Breezy, an old family friend. He became extremely close to her and she thought of him as her second father.<br />
