Backstory: When Shadowsmiles's parents were killed by a griffon, she received her father's hidden demonic power and her mother's telepathy; Shadowsmiles realized it was coming her next. So at last, using her powers she managed to scare the griffon away. She has been a loner from then on, using her powers to protect and befriend anypony she saw, flying around Equestria, looking for a nice place to settle though to put up a good fight as well.
