Appearance: Silver is a very dark shade of grey, and he commonly wears a black cloak to help him hide in the shadows. His mane is a deep maroon colour and has it long to conceal his eyes when hiding. When he is not trying to be hidden he pins it back, to look neat and well combed. His eyes are nearly silver, which is where his name originally comes from, but they have a faint blue tint like ice. His tail is short and cut, you guessed it, neatly. It's not long at all and ends abruptly.

Cutie Mark: A silhouette (or shadow) of a pony, to represent his skill in concealing himself within the shadows to the extent of appearing (or not appearing.) invisible.

Personality: Silver is very formal. In fact, ridiculously formal when it comes to others. He is noble and respectful, and holds high esteem for those he admires. Particularly a certain princess Luna. He is very awkward in large social groups however, and is not used to being around crowds of people. Normally one might simply mistake him for a socially awkward character, but when he makes friends or feels close to some one he dedicates himself to them in such a way that he refuses to leave there side. Unfortunately, the only person he felt remotely close to was Luna herself. This caused a little confusion at first. Perhaps more will be explained in the backstory. <br />Silver commonly speaks in old english, because of the age he came from. Addressing himself by "we" and "us" very often. In this way he is much like the princess Luna, but who could blame him after one thousand years of sleep?

Backstory: Silver's back story is very unique, to say the least. When he was very young, probably only a filly of 7 years old, he was found in the everfree forest by a young unicorn recognized as a servant in Canterlot Castle. No one knows why she was there, or why in fact Silver was in a dangerous magical forest. Silver refuses to speak about his past and keeps to himself when it comes to this sort of thing. Some believe it's because he simply can't remember. Other's think he's just downright stubborn. The unicorn brought him to the castle, cold and wet, and gave him a place to stay.<br /><br />She took him out of the forest and after some talk and explanation, he was given the name Silver because he could not remember his name. Silver found out that the mare was from a palace, and that she was a servant on important business in the forest. However because she had stumbled across Silver she felt it urgent to return. Finding an orphan in the forest was a rare event that was not to be taken lightly.<br /><br />Life went on normally, well as normal as it could get for him, but Silver couldn't help trying to think of his past before he arrived in Equestria. And who else was in the forest with him. He prayed some day all the answers would become clear.<br /><br />Silver refuses to speak about his past and keeps to himself when it comes to this sort of thing. Some believe it's because he simply can't remember. Other's think he's just downright stubborn. He was brought to the castle, cold and wet, and was given a place to stay. Silver grew up in the royal palace, and took great interest in becoming a royal guard very quickly. He was regarding as strange for his bright blue, almost grey, eyes. Over years Silver became incredibly skilled with stealth much to everyponies surprise. In his attempts to become a guard, he completely ignored his natural skills of hiding and stealth. Eventually he became something many people were surprised at. Instead of a royal guard, the same unicorn who found him in the forest steered him to be unique as a guard. Because of his great senses and hiding skills, he could be the sort of guard that keeps watch from a distance without being spotted. One that watches from the shadows and keeps himself secret. Still a normal guard, just with his own kind of twist.<br /><br />This proved perfect for him, and when he turned 18 he was accepted as a guard.<br /><br />Of course, he couldn't prepare himself for what happened 2 years later. Princess Luna came under a terrible transformation and became the monster Nightmare Moon. That night, Silver was on guard duty. He spotted Nightmare moon long before anyone else because of his skills in stealth and his sharp senses. When he raised the alarm, Nightmare Moon caught him and put him into a deep, enchanted sleep. The sleep was set to last forever, or at least until it was released by her or her sister. It was a fate nearly as bad as death, because it sealed the sleepers mind, and body within an ageless cycle. It was nothing but void and blackness.<br /><br />When Nightmare Moon had been sent away, the current captain of the guard could not find Silver afterwords. Nightmare Moon did not want him to wake up, so she hid him somewhere he would never be found. The pony had ruined her plans by raising the alarm, and she wanted him to be punished. He could also cause problems later, so she ensured he wouldn't make things worse. (This turned out pointless since she was defeated anyways.)<br />With that, Silver's life seemed to have been cut short.<br /><br />And that's why Silver was very surprised, when his eyes opened to the sparkling crystal caves beneath Canterlot.
