  1. So, what I mean by this question is: where do you, y'know, come from? For instance, I'm mostly Scotts-Norwegian, with a bit of Turkish and Danish thrown in. From what descent are you?
  2. okay here is the black forest cake recipe, i have the format more refined now you will need: Cake: 8 eggs 2 1/4 cups brown sugar 1 3/4 cups milk 1 1/4 cups vegetable oil 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon saltCherry filling: 1 1/2 lbs fresh black cherries (frozen or canned work if not in season) 1/2 cup kirsch liqueur 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup cold water 1 tablespoon cornstarch (dissolved in 1 tablespoon of water) Whipped cream: 4 cups heavy cream 2 tablespoons gelatin powder 1/2 cup sugar 3 tablespoons kirsch liqueur 2 tablespoons vanilla extract 4 ounces good quality dark chocolate instructions Making the cherry filling: Reserve 10 cherries for decoration. Pit and roughly chop the remaining cherries and soak them with ½ cup kirsch for at least 30 minutes. (You can soak the cherries overnight.) Drain the cherries, reserving the kirsch. Add cherries to a saucepan, along with the sugar and the cold water. Bring it to the stove and cook, over medium heat, until it starts boiling. Then, add the dissolved cornstarch and continue cooking until it's thickened and bubbly, about 10 minutes. Cool completely. Making the cake: Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Butter and line the bottom of two 9 inch round cake pans with parchment paper. Butter all over and dust with cocoa powder. Reserve. Using a stand (or hand) mixer, beat the eggs on high speed for 30 seconds. Add the sugar and keep beating until thick and fluffy. Add the milk, oil and vanilla extract and mix until combined. Sift the dry ingredients together and slowly add them to the batter, while mixing on low speed, until everything is combined. Divide the batter equally into the two prepared pans. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes, or until a tooth pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Transfer the pans to a wire rack and let cool completely. Making the whipped cream: Chill mixing bowl and beaters for at least 15 minutes before using. In a microwave safe bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder into ¼ cup of the heavy cream and allow to soften for 5 minutes. Dissolve gelatin by microwaving for 3 minutes, stirring after every minute. Remove from microwave and let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes; gelatin must be liquid but not warm when added to cream. Remove bowl and beaters from refrigerator and pour in the remaining cream, sugar, kirsch and vanilla extract. Beat together just until beater marks begin to show distinctly. Add gelatin mixture to cream, pouring in a steady stream while beating constantly. Beat until stiff peaks form. Assembling the cake: When ready to assemble, run a table knife around the edge of the pans and unmold the cakes. Slice cake layers in half with a long serrated knife, trimming off any hard crusts. Prick the tops of the layers with a toothpick and pour the ½ cup of Kirsch (that the cherries soaked in) equally onto each one. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of the whipped cream, cover with a layer of the cherry filling (leaving a ½-inch border of cream around the edge) and top with another layer of cake. Repeat with remaining layers and top with the flattest layer. Frost top and sides of cake with remaining whipped cream, reserving some to pipe decorations. To make the chocolate shavings, you can either grate or shave the chocolate with a peeler. Or, you can do the authentic way by melting the chocolate in the microwave, spreading it thin over the back of a baking sheet and bringing it to the fridge for about 10 minutes. Once cold, use a food scraper to create shavings. Cover cake sides and top with the chocolate shavings. Pipe rounds of frosting around the top of the cake and place a whole cherry over each one. Refrigerate cake for a few hours or overnight before serving for the flavors to meld. (a quick heads up, i've found that when using the canned or jar cherries you should replace the water with the juice when making the filling) so there you are my honorary German friend, a black forest cake. Hope you enjoy ~Kaiser
  3. Okay guys first up on the blog is the recipe of a German classic. The schnitzel You're going to need all of the following ingredients 2 lbs boneless pork chops1/3 cup all-purpose flour1 Tbsp garlic salt (or sub with equal parts salt and garlic powder)1/2 tsp paprika1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground3 large eggs2 cups panko bread crumbsOlive oil, canola oil or any high heat cooking oil to sauteLemon wedges to serve (You may not think they're important, but they are) 1. you trim the fat off of the pork chops and slice them into 1/2 inch cutlets 2. line the cutting board with plastic wrap 3. lay all of the cutlets onto the cutting board and cover them with another layer of plastic wrap (to prevent splatter of the meat juice) 4. pound the cutlets with a heavy sauce pan until 1/4 or 1/8 inch thick, depending on preference 5. set up 3 bowls 6. in the first bowl, combine 1/3 cup flour, 1 tbsp garlic salt, 1/2 tsp paprika, and 1/2 tsp pepper 7. in the second bowl beat 3 eggs 8. in the third bowl, add 2 cups of panko crumbs 9. dip both sides of the pounded cutlets into the beaten egg and than into the crumbs 10. once all of the cutlets are breaded, heat a large non-stick pan and pour enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan 11. once the oil is hot, add the cutlets a few at a time and saute for about 3-4 minutes, or however long it takes your stove to turn the crumbs golden brown. Also, reduce the heat if the cutlets are browning to quickly, you don't want the crumbs done before the meat. 12. cut into one to check if it's done, juices should run out 13. serve them immediately with lemon wedges as garnish and for flavor, or ranch if you prefer, it's the best sauce for it There you are my friends, I you enjoy. For the next recipe, I'll be doing a black forest cake.

  5. The Wunderbar Photo Finish Fan Club There wasn't a Photo Finish Fan Club? Is... Is it because she's German?!? No, no that can't be it. People were simply overwhelmed by "ze magicks!" Something that is perfectly understandable. Photo Finish deserves a fan club because she's a fashion savvy and decisive pony... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Vnabktpd0M ...Well, okay: She's a fashion savvy pony. Most people don't know this, but Photo Finish is the only pony who correctly pronounces Fluttershy's name: Floottershy! Her full name is actually Photo von Finishstrauss. Photo Finish always knows how to make an exit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLQX2XQfYQs I, too, GO; show your support for occasionally bilingual ponies with the guts to wear crazy eye wear.
  6. https://www.equestriadaily.com/2017/07/new-german-mlp-movie-synopsis-and.html >Princess Twilight Sparkle is stuck in the middle of preparations for a big friendship festival, when the mighty Storm King and his unscrupulous commander Tempest Shadow invades Ponyville with their troops. The sinister dictator wants to conquer the Kingdom of Equestria, so that he can finally rule the entire world. Tempest herself originates from Equestria. During her childhood she lost her horn in an accident and thus also her magical abilities. She felt ostracized by the other ponies and changed to the side of evil. However, should Tempest succeed at stealing the four princesses' magical abilities, then the Storm King would give her back her horn. >Tempest can quickly overhwlem the princesses of the Day, Night and Family. However, Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship, will not give up so easily. Together with her best friends Applejack and Pinkie Pie; Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy; Rarity and baby dragon Spike, she flees to the south. There she hopes to find the legendary Queen of the Hippogriffs and to ally with her against the Storm King. >While fleeing, Tempest Shadow is always hot on their heels. Twilight and Co. have their hooves full trying to constantly shake off their nasty pursuer. In addition, they have to weather tons of adventures. They encounter a shady tomcat called Capper, who offers to help them, but in truth is double-crossing them. They fly as stowaways in the airship of Captain Celaeno and her silly birds. Eventually, they land in the glittering underwater kingdom of Seaquestria, where Queen Novo has created an entirely new world. Before the Mane 6 can convince her to join them in the fight against the Storm King, Twilight has to first learn an important lesson... Looks like the seaponies aren't actually "real" seaponies but its just a form they took when the hippogryphs fled under the ocean.
  7. Just curious: How many bronies out there watch MLP FiM in different languages? Allow me to explain: I take German in school, and my father speaks it fluently. I personally think it's a beautiful language and I dream to speak it someday So, being my curious self, I looked up MLP in German. I discovered the cutest little pony voices and funny accents. The cool part is I understood some of it! Anyway, go ahead and try it out: Listen to all the Mane 6's voices in German. Super cute! "20% Cooler"

  11. (( Not in order from wierdest to least or vise versa.)) 1. So I walked into German class, and keep in mind this is probably the wierdest part of my day, and I look over to see gun powder all over my teacher's grading book and Mr Baker is sitting there rolling up gun powder packets on his desk. He says nothing but tells another student to close the door then continues rolling. 2. There is a tiny christmas tree with a Jack's ornament, an owl with arms coming out of it's chest, and a massive golden orgnament that's half the size of the tree itself. 3. There are these two incredibly dumb ass guys in there. So dumb that Mr Baker put labels on their desk reading 'pot' and 'kettle' because they were always arguing about who is dumber. 4. We never really do much work except for about five minutes, the rest is just talking about food, sports, and what ever else happens to come to mind. For example we spent 45 minutes quoting Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail. 5. There is a stuffed bob cat in the corner of the room named Bobby. 6. He rode a horse onto the football field.... 'nuf said. 7. One time he showed up to class with swords in a full body Civil War uniform, that had nothing to do with anything as he teaches German. 8. During our test today he devoted at least 5 minutes to listing different names for bras, only one was actually german. 9. When a strange whistling noise came from a hole in the heater venlation he claimed it was his pet baby elephant reginold trying to regoin him after they got in a fight over a bag of ramen. 10. He hung paper stockings on his desk for Christmas and labeld his own sock "Sir Shawn".

  13. One of the biggest problems when it comes to merch for non-american bronies is that there is not really that much of stuff that is not directly from Hasbro. You know, like WeLoveFine, Hot Topic and those adorable plushies from 4DE. Of course, we can import, but the fees and taxes are damn high. So it pleases me when I see that Hasbro gives the license to domestic companies. Like in this case here in Germany. Right now I can't await to buy them in September. Would be my first merch then. And the time my parents learn that I'm a brony... Don't know if they even know about the show yet... I just hope this is only the beginning of good domestic merch here. Hopefully they add Applejack, Fluttershy and Rarity soon. And Applejack WITH hat! But who am I to demand something. At least we get something that actually looks really good.
  14. I'm going to kick off my first review with a band that I don't listen to a lot. In fact, this is the only power metal album I'll ever review. First off, I would like to say that this isn't a "wimpy" sounding album. I'd say it's equally as heavy as something like Mercyful Fate. Except, faster and more uplifting. So it's heavy, and not some wimpy ass album, like most power metal is said to be. The songs are very well made. The guitar has a nice tone, it's fast as hell and like I said before, heavy. The vocals are kinda cheesy at times but overall, they're amazing. I think the only time they're REALLY cheesy is on the song "A Tale That Wasn't Right". In fact the song as a whole is fucking cheesy, it's like one of those songs you would here at the end of an 80's movie. Especially at a part near the very end where the protagonist is walking in to the sunset or something cheesy like that. That being said, it's still a good song. Cheesy as fuck, but still good. My favorite song of this album would have to be "I'm Alive". I find it to be the most aggressive song on the whole album. The intro to it reminds me of "Aces High" by Iron Maiden though. I fucking swear, they're identical. "A Little Time" and "Future World" are also great. Even if the part with the buzer in "Future World" is weird. Why would you use that in a metal song? "Halloween" is an epic track, the solo is killer. Track Listing: 1. Initiation 2. I'm Alive 3. A Little Time 4. Twilight of the Gods 5. A Tale That Wasn't Right 6. Future World 7. Halloween 8. Follow the Sign So what did you guys think of my first review? Post some feedback. I doubt many people are going to read this but whatever. And no I don't give number ratings, they're just irrelevant. I either like an album or not.
