  1. I had a dream last night that was pretty horrifying yet vivid so I decided to write it down. Me and three friends were bored and driving by this huge building, it must have had at least twenty floors, and it had a sign saying it was some kind of museum , so we decided` we might as well stop there, considering no other buildings were nearby. So we got out of the car and headed into the front door, the building appeared to be empty of people except for us, but we shrugged it off. We found what appeared to be a spiral staircase. We walked up the staircase until stumbling upon a door that had a sign that said 'No Entry", next to it the word EVER was written sloppily in some kind of ink. The door appeared locked, so the three of us backed up, and rammed it full force, the door came right off of it's hinges. We walked into a huge rectangular room. Inside, there were tanks full of fish, octopuses, that kind of thing. In addition, there were shelves stacked with supplies, such as herbs in various crates, vials of different kinds of liquids, the like. In the back there appeared to be another door, so we headed towards it. Once we were about half way through the room, the lights flickered out and some kind of bubbling noise transpired. Once the lights came back on, I could see that the fish were all suffocating on something, the tanks now appeared rusty and the glass was glowing a kind of eerie white, and one of my friends was missing from the group, the door on the other side of the room, the one we were heading to, now some kind of whispering was coming from behind it. The whispering was too ambiguous to fully understand, but I could have swore it kept saying my name and urging me to come closer. I ran up to the door, and slowly flung it open. Behind it there was nothing but blackness, like this room literally did not exist, like it was the end of existence, just a void., I was about to close it when some kind of white face with glowing eyes flew up to me and started screeching incredibly loud, at that point, I flung the door closed and turned around. I saw yellow eyes that appeared flat and painted all over the walls, except the pupils were following my movements. I heard a growling and the shelves started falling over as if something invisible was knocking into them, so those of us remaining started sprinting towards the door, shelves falling over right behind us. However, only I made it, as I did a jump right out of the door of the room before a shelf slammed in front of it, blocking it. I heard screaming from behind the door, and I wasn't thinking so I just ran down the stairs for what seemed like 10 minutes, and then I busted the entrance door open, looking up and seeing some kind of black and purple smoke coming out of the top of the building, then I woke up. That dream scared me, I'm still a bit shaken, actually. In case you were wondering why I even bothered writing this, I'm doing a kind of dream journal thing. On the other hand, I'm thinking I could base some kind of story on it, since I think it has potential.
  2. I like to think of Religion this way. If the Bible was released, today, as opposed to quite a long time ago, people would mark it's author a madman and ignore it. Just because nobody was going to mark the author some kind of madman in his day and age doesn't make the Bible less insane. It's a book that literally changes it's mind from verse to verse. Reading this feels like trying to walk up a down escalator, it takes the progress you thought you had understanding it, and throws it away every time you read a new sentence. If we taught people syntax and writing structure with the Bible everybody would speak in tongues. There are a TON of inconsistencies in the Bible, people say: "But those were God's beliefs at a different time" To which I reply "If a being is Omniscient, Omnipotent, and perfect, it cannot, by definition, change it's mind without violating one or all of those traits" Like this: 1. God is satisfied with his works Gen 1:31 God is dissatisfied with his works. Gen 6:6 2. God dwells in chosen temples 2 Chron 7:12,16 God dwells not in temples Acts 7:48 3. God dwells in light Tim 6:16 God dwells in darkness 1 Kings 8:12/ Ps 18:11/ Ps 97:2 4. God is seen and heard Ex 33:23/ Ex 33:11/ Gen 3:9,10/ Gen 32:30/ Is 6:1/ Ex 24:9-11 God is invisible and cannot be heard John 1:18/ John 5:37/ Ex 33:20/ 1 Tim 6:16 5. God is tired and rests Ex 31:17 God is never tired and never rests Is 40:28 ___________ The Existence of a God/Deity is an extremely weak argument It's taken for granted that a "Universal negative" cannot be proven, so the religious say I can't prove God doesn't exist. They treat it like anybody who denies the existence of such a God is insane, and that the existence of such a God is a given. I disagree. I can disprove God the same way I can disprove that there are cubical spheres, because his own nature is contradictory. Namely, that he is perfect, Omnipotent, and Omniscient. For example, they say that God is perfect, before us, they say he is all that existed, perfection. But that can't be.. because that would mean there is no reason to create. In fact, creating disproves that he is perfect because implying that he is perfect implies that he is completely free of the need or will to do anything. If he is perfect, there is nothing he needs or desires, he would not want to create, he would not need to create, he would not create. He would simply be content with what he had, otherwise, he would be imperfect by definition. Alright, but let's take this for granted, let's say that God is perfect. Next the Bible says that he creates humanity and that they are the crown of his creation, but that they disobey him and become imperfect. That's not possible, nothing imperfect can come from something perfect, there's a saying that goes "Bad fruit can't come from a good tree". Which is to say, something perfect cannot make something imperfect, that would mean that the original perfect thing is not in fact perfect. Tl;DR The existence of imperfections in the universe proves that if it has a creator, said creator cannot be perfect, thus the Bible is not true. ____________ Free Will Argument Debunked Lets look at another argument. Some Christians say that God did not make humans imperfect, but that he gave us free will because a being needs free will to be happy. But if God was really omnipotent as they claim, than could he not simply make it a rule that those without freewill would be the happy ones? After all, according to the religious, he CREATED us. Would it be such a hassle for him to make it so that we're happy when not disobeying him? It just does not make one ounce of sense for him to behave this way. He clearly could have chosen our lack of freewill, why wouldn't he? He had nothing to lose at the time and if he really did have time to ponder our creation before actually doing it, neither did we. __________________ Hell is Unfair Also on that subject, doesn't having Hell kind of make God a jerk? I mean, sins are finite, they are limited evil, so he punishes humans by sending them to infinite torture in Hell. My biggest problem with this is that the reason these humans would be imperfect, and thus able to sin, would be the fault of the God in the first place. And seriously, this God thinks that belief is more important than action. If you don't believe in him, you go to Hell, even if you die never having had a chance to believe in him, it's ridiculous. Take this quote, for example: " Consider all of the people who live in the remote regions of the world who have never even heard the "gospel" of Jesus Christ. Consider the people who have naturally adhered to the religion of their parents and nation as they had been taught to do since birth. If we are to believe the Christians, all of these people will perish in the eternal fire for not believing in Jesus. It does not matter how just, kind, and generous they have been with their fellow humans during their lifetime: if they do not accept the gospel of Jesus, they are condemned. No just God would ever judge a man by his beliefs rather than his actions." Does that not make this "God" incredibly unfair and unjust? Don't say I'm evil for believing that is unfair or unjust because according to the religious, the only reason I'm able to believe that is because this "God" lets me. It's ridiculous. They act like such an Omnipotent being would not interfere in an observable, do they even know how ridiculous it is to believe such a being is playing an eternal game of "I'm not touching you" with the goddamned UNIVERSE? __________________________ Jesus Lied Jesus says, undoubtedly, in the Bible, that ANYTHING you pray will be granted. He does not say that God will think about your prayers, he clearly says, in the Bible, that all of your prayers will be granted. I could pray right now that I would become a cactus and unless that happens right now (It isn't, by the way, I'm still typing) it won't happen, which means Jesus lied. Even try praying for something outlandish if you're faithful, go ahead, try it, nothing will happen. Here are some direct quotes from the Bible for you to prove that Jesus does in fact say that literally goddamned ANYTHING you ask will be granted, and since that isn't the case, he lied.: 1) And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matthew 21:21-22 NAS) 2) Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8 NAB) 3) Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. (Matthew 18:19-20 NAS) 4) Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours. (Mark 11:24-25 NAB) 5) And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Luke 11:9-13 NAB) 6) And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14 NAB) 7) If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. (John 15:7 NAB) 8) It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. (John 15:16 NAB) 9) On that day you will not question me about anything. Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you. Until now you have not asked anything in my name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. (John 16:23-24 NAB) ___________________________ Religion has NOTHING to do with morality People have argued with me that without religion, we'd all be murdering each other. That is as ridiculous as saying that without the internet, people would stop communicating. Believe it or not, people don't need some kind of magical being to tell them not to murder each other, it's actually kind of a thing we just learn from our peers. Same with most morals, and once we can sustain ourselves logically, we decide our own morals. I rarely ever do something that the Bible considers "Evil" (Except not believing in God) even though I hate the Bible. You know why? Because the Bible's "morals" are just common sense packed to look divine. It would be like if I convinced you that cereal granted you immortality by putting a first aid kit in the box. It would be like me writing that Octopuses are planning to take over the world but you praising it for it's morality because I inserted "Brush your teeth everyday" somewhere in the middle. I've seen evil fanatical religious people (I.E. Extremists), I've seen evil fanatical non-religious people (Insert Joseph Stalin here), it really doesn't matter, your morality and whether you believe in some kind of perfect being that created you has nothing to do with whether or not you know that stealing something is wrong. If you honestly believe that eternal punishment is necessary to make people act civilized than you'd be shocked to find that is not the case in the slightest. _______________________________ Epilogue I think I said most, if not all of the things I needed to say. I just needed to vent a bit because I'm particularly strongly opinionated. Of course, you're always free to make your own decisions about this and draw your own conclusions about this, in fact, I encourage it, because the more closely you look at religion, the less sense it will make to somebody, simply because Religion is impossibilities stacked upon layer and layer of impossible. I'm not trying to disrespect your beliefs, I'm strictly analyzying the claims of the (Christian) Bible (Which is to say I did not read for example the Qu'ran so I did not address it's claims) from a scientific and logical perspective, as I just really needed to say how I feel about this. I do in fact acknowledge that not everybody views things the same way I do (A trait I wish was more common in humans) so it's always up for debate, if you want to contact me and have a (Civil, I don't want a yelling match) discussion about the subject, you can always contact me. Remember, in the end, this is my opinion, I am simply stating what I believe, and backing it up with evidence. I'm not forcing you to believe what I'm saying, I'm just kind of highly recommending it. Thank you for your time, and have a nice day. Harmonic out. P.S. INB4 People barge in with sites like and and
  3. Somebody was having a conversation with me about this over Skype and I decided to put my view on this subject into this blog. I should start off by saying that I don't believe there is an afterlife, and then I'm going to delve into why I'm okay with that. The way most people describe an afterlife is some kind of realm/world you go to once you die and live in forever. Personally, that sounds like a punishment to me, no matter how comforting. You know why? Because that would mean that even in death there is simply no escape from unhappiness. It would make my existence feel more like a prison than like my greatest gift. It would mean that life never ends. At first that might sound great, but, after enough time, everybody wants to die, I mean, there is only so much time before you start going insane due to the repetitiveness that would be eternal existence, it sounds kind of torturous. He brought up an interesting point saying to me: "But you'd be dead, wouldn't that mean that the human psyche is no longer in effect?" To which I replied: "But, your personality is in large part caused by said human psyche, so without it, you wouldn't really be 'you'." Some people go crazy after a DAY of repetitiveness, forever can't really be that different. And on top of that, this after life would either A.) Feature no other people (Go crazy by isolation) B.) Feature no Real People (Matrix-type scenario, probably drive you crazy) Or C.) Everybody else who's ever died (Feels like a horrible public pool type place until you go crazy) And that just sounds absolutely horrible no matter what way you slice it. An After life would mean that even death is meaningless, and that there is never a way out. I don't want that, seriously, who would? That's why I take heart in the fact that once I die, I'm gone. I just don't exist anymore. In a way, it's quite a bit more merciful than an afterlife actually, because it makes my life that much more meaningful and special, rather than it being like some kind of goddamned loading screen for the real thing (AKA an afterlife). Thank you for your time.
  4. Ermehgehrd they're argewing about owlthingalicious. This is the greatest fan art ever. It has finally been completed after over three quintillion years in development and billions of tax payer dollars down the drain for this project. such tenshun, such beauty. I capture this in my warks of art.
  5. Put this either as your signature or just put it at the top of your About me page if you support the right of the wonderful artists of the community to post whatever they want. The threats that the artist behind the Molestia blog has been getting are ridiculous and childish on the part of those sending them and I think we should push back. We can't let this censorship stand, it isn't right, it just isn't, and so, we must show the disdain it makes us feel. The blog is hilarious and nobody is making anybody else read it by force so taking it down is morally wrong and we just can't stand for that kind of thing. We can't allow the death threats the artist keeps getting to continue. There's no better way to do this than to show your support for the free speech in the fandom than with this banner I made, it can double as a signature or as an image you just put at the top of your "About me" Just leave a comment so I can add you to the list of supporters of free speech. 6. Welcome, to the Church of the Sacred Cactus. Listen to our holy scripture. Let the truth reach your ears. We all know what must be done, in the name of the holy Cactus, we must rise again, and defeat the evils of the Chicken Rebellion. Join me, my brothers and sisters, and rise in the name of thy lord and savior, Weegee. We know the true path of righteousness, the path of the Saguaro, the path of the truth. Be one with the Cactus, let yourself be the Cactus, and the cactus be you. History of the Church: _______________ When my Grandfather, Weegee, was just a small girl in his village, a pack of roving lawnmowers attacked. They would have killed him, however, a Cactus came to his aid and single handedly killed all the lawn mowers, and then bestowed upon Weegee the scripture that every member of the church is sworn to live by until the day we all ascend and become one with the Cactus. When Weegee died, he passed the mantle of responsibility of leading the church onto me. You start out as an initiate upon signing up, from there, I will invite you to a PM where the inner workings of the church are explained, and I will assign you missions. As you complete these missions, you will rank up in the Church, this is how it has always worked, for all of the billions of years the Church has existed. Our members number in the quintillions, however, only a handful have made it into the inner circle and actually become one with the Cactus. But by doing extraordinary things for the well-being of the church, you too may be permitted to become a Guardian Priest of the Sacred Cactus. An honor most great, and second only to me in prestige. There are secondary titles that do specific things for the church that are also within the inner circle. _______________________ Church Documents: Testimonial 8/20/2013 May Cactus be with you. 8. I decided I should compile a list of rules by which I live my life. I only felt it fitting, since my actions often cause confusion, and while I may seem to be quite random to the casual observer, I actually have a very calculated method of decision making/living. So here's a bit of what defines me, I'll post these in list form. Rule 1 -Before taking any action, I must have reasonable expectations that it will help more people than it will harm. I do not take my own gain or loss into consideration in this expectation. Rule 2 -If something I'm going to say is going to make people happy, laugh, or just generally improve their day, it's worth saying. Rule 3 -Do not have a negative disposition to somebody unless I have good reason (Such as if antagonizing them obeys Rule 1). Good reasons include: They are committing some kind of crime They are intentionally harming others for their own self-gain They are spreading hatred intentionally. Rule 4 -Let the past remain in the past, in the long run it takes more effort to hold a grudge than to forgive and forget. Rule 5 -Others before myself. Rule 6 -Anticipate the consequences of my actions and prepare for said consequences in advance. Rule 7 -Loyalty to friends goes before loyalty to self (AKA helping others over preservation of self) Rule 8 -Negative emotions can be kept to myself unless somebody actually has a genuine interest in such emotions. Rule 9 -Sacrifice is a necessary part of life, always accept it when necessary. Rule 10 -Say things are they are, not as you wish they were. Rule 11 -If any of my beliefs are disproved by evidence, discard the belief. ___________ I hope that kind of clears up any confusion you may have had over my moral obligations or philosophy. I was going to compile this list eventually anyway, so posting it here to help others understand the rules by which I guide myself would make a lot of sense and make my life a lot easier, instead of having to explain it individually. However, if you do wish for me to elaborate on anything written here, tell me in the comments, PM, or really any way to contact me and I shall elaborate/answer any questions.

  10. So I decided I might as well review the forums as a whole and mainly because at this point I just might as well get this out there for you lovely peoples who are interested in my thoughts about the forum and such, so I might as well put this out there. Visual Style: So let's start by talking about the visual style of MLP Forums. I love it, plain and simply. It just blends so well with MLP itself that it's an incredibly user friendly style. In fact, out of all the MLP Forums I've been on (A lot), I'd say that this is perhaps the best designed one. It's just visually stunning. I would have to say that the bright colors make the forums feel very friendly and calming. The style of this forum is really unmatched. The art style is just stunningly cute and I love the forum banners the community works on, they're really amazing. Community: Next I'm going to talk about the community, this is going to be a long paragraph so bear with me, please. The community has to be the best on the internet, I mean, it really does. We're so large yet maintain this close bond with each other in a way that's very hard to describe. I am pleasantly surprised at the maturity of the users here, we can discuss mature topics without dissolving into pure insults and banter (for the most part) and well, that's not something I've ever seen anywhere else. In addition, the user base is just amazing, we have such a diversity, we have funny people, calm people, hyper people, serious people, intellectual people, laid back people, younger people, older people. We have everything on this forum, and it's absolutely amazing. I've made many great friends here, but in a way, we're all friends here, the forum community is friendly, even to strangers. Despite our differences, the forum is incredibly close and supportive of each other. And really, the staff is astounding. They do their jobs with unmatched skill and effort, and I'm very grateful to all of them for running this forums smoothly. I know it's a hard job and I appreciate the unimaginable levels of effort and the love for this forum and it's community from which this effort grew. I look up for all of these Poniverse staff, moderators, and Admins, they do so much for the community with little incentive besides their love for this community. I would truly do anything for this amazing community, as it has done so much for me. If I had to say anything negative about the community, it is saddening how many users join and just immediately leave. We need more new users because their opinions are always valued highly and new faces are always a welcome sight. Organization: This is one that changes constantly, but still remains familiar. The forum sections are changing constantly, but each one serves a clear purpose, and in my opinion is easy to use even to people unfamiliar with forums or just usually confused by them. I find the descriptions on each subforum infinitely useful for helping me (And I'm sure countless others) figure out what to post where. This is one of the most straightforward and user-friendly forums I've seen, not only that, but with the incredibly helpful staff, it creates a welcoming atmosphere. Summary: Well, I just simply love this community to an extent it is hard to express in words. @Feld0 is incredibly well-humored, intelligent, and nice, and it really reflects in all of the sites he started. I believe that Poniverse is one of the best networks out there and I am incredibly proud to be a part of it's membership. This forum has to be one of, if not the, best forum I've ever been on in my entire internet experience. I have, in my past, tried different forums and never found where I fit in until I stumbled upon this marvelous forum. I love you guys, I really do. I am very grateful for the mere opportunity to participate in this community. As Poniverse continues to grow and prosper, only more great experiences lay ahead of us.
  11. To those of you who don't know, Halo 2 Vista was a release of Halo 2 for the PC that like Halo CE, has officially supported modding tools. Unlike Halo CE, the people who ported Halo 2 to the PC failed drastically to make it compatible with a lot of common place modding, like making new tags. Basically it's that Bungie wanted it to be like Halo CE but the porters failed drastically to format it correctly. So modding it is very hard, but I found a way. That did not stop yours truly from finding a way to have fun. I was going to post a video but Youtube and FRAPs are apparently co-conspirators against me. I will post screenshots here on my blog periodically so if this kind of thing interests you just hit the follow button and you'll be informed of all of my messing around. Like this Rocket Launcher that has unlimited ammo and shoots the same beam as the Scarab Tank. Or this Scorpion tank that shoots sniper bullets instead of machine gun bullets. I have the charged plasma pistol shooting out banshees but it was hard to use only screenshots to show it in action. More is to come.
  12. So I need a thread to dump these, because I have been quite busy working on a bunch of wallpapers, signatures, avvies, and the sort. So I'm just going to post them all up in this thread as they come out. I always appreciate feedback, so that I can improve. P.S. eventually they'll have to be attached to the post itself since you can only upload so many external images, so that's why you're seeing duplicates at the bottom of the post. Series 1: Celestia and Luna Wallpaper Set (Complete) Series 2: Mane Six Simplistic Wallpapers (Complete) Series 3: Antagonist Signatures (In Progress, Discord done so far)

  14. Hello, guys. Today I'm going to be talking about an awesome user, Pink Mist. She is rather new to the site, but has already made it clear that she is a great person, with her sig request shop. Her sigs are high quality, I personally think she is very talented. Not just that, but she likes to write, which is something I can appreciate, being a fellow writer. In addition, but she has made an that shows a tour of these very forums, which is amazing. You should check that out, give her a like, and a subscribe. From what I've seen, she's a really nice person and I'm really looking forward to her future participation in the forums. Brohoof to you, Pink Mist.

  16. I got back into Minecraft and decided that I should get back into building huge over-complicated buildings immediately. So I decided to make a ranger lodge, here are some screenshots. I'd appreciate any thoughts or feedback. The front of the lodge is unfinished (I added a shed after I took the screenshots, and am working on a hedge maze to the right and a pool to the left) Here are some but not all of the lodges features: -A garden -A balcony -A fireplace -A Study -Three bedrooms (Not completely furnished yet) -Storage -Kitchen -Basement -Lobby -Skylight in the main room
  17. This is a followup to the original Harmonic's Guide to Posting On The Forums (If you haven't read it, please take a moment to do so). This one comes complete with pictures ( Some that I photoshopped myself to help illustrate my points) and also to make this article look beautiful. I thought that maybe I skipped some things that really should have been put in there, but really, there were quite a few, so I decided I might as well make it into it's own post. 1.) Don't Make Drama when Leaving the Forums This is a big one, and I made a joke about it probably yesterday (Maybe the day before that) about me leaving, just to see what would happen if I simply made a status about it. Enough people replied to that status for me to say inconclusively that making a status about it is okay, but not necessary. You know what's not okay? Making several blogs, dozens of statuses about leaving, making a post about it, and presumably flying a zeppelin with "GOODBYE" written on it fly over Canada in the hopes that Feldicorn will see it. Do you know why it's not okay? It's not okay because about nine out of ten times these users come back in less of a week. I guarantee it's usually because the users did it just for attention, and not because some magical fairy warned them that leaving would spell their impending doom. Rather, if you're going to leave, do so, but don't turn it into some kind of dramatic grand finale because you're going to make yourself look bad and probably won't actually end up leaving at all. Make one blog post, or (And if it's particularly complicated, perhaps and) a status update, but don't do more than that. 2.) Don't claim other people aren't "Real bronies" This one particularly bothers me, mainly because when it is said it's usually meant as an insult. Most common topics people say this in are debates about headcanon, opinions on episodes, and opinions on Fan Content (Especially R34 content), and it also bothers me because of how hypocritical it is. Saying something like that proves without a doubt that whoever saying it is immature, and illogical. Two things that haters love to target about the fandom. By doing this, they are: A.) Showing all of the tact of a mentally delayed cheeto dust covered comedy writer by targeting someone's personality over a minor difference of opinion. Not pictured: Brain food B.) Making sure that any logical person will side with your opponent, maybe even due to your immaturity. "One day they'll pay, they'll all pay." ______ So what I'm saying is that this is working against your credibility if you think that just because someone disagrees with you they aren't a "Real" member of the fandom. 3.) Don't Fish for Sympathy It should be noted that I'm not saying "Don't look for someone sympathetic", I'm talking about people who fish for it like they're in a contest to gather the most people to feel bad for you. I'm talking about people who turn everything into a sob story. I'm talking about the guy who goes into a thread titled "What is your favorite candy?" and says "My entire family was murdered by a roving pack of Chocolate Bars." "You bastard" That guy is the worst. The worst part is that for people unfamiliar with people who fish for sympathy, it's hard to tell the difference between these guys and people who are legitimately sorrowful. Which is bad because it then makes it harder to actually help people who need it. If I had to make a metaphor, it would be like a building collapsing and then a hundred people hiding themselves in the wreckage so that the emergency crews would have to look through all of them instead of those legitimately injured. 4.) Don't argue unless you intend to prove your point This is a big one. Don't get into an argument unless you actually have some kind of evidence to back you up. There is no way to embarrass yourself more easily than going into an argument, actually starting to win using logic and reason, and then having nothing to drive your point home with because you had no point in the first place. You might know what I'm talking about, for example, people who argue about things that can't be proven. "Yes, Bell Bottoms are still in style on Saturn!" Unlike Hoop Earrings, which we have clear evidence of on Saturn.
  18. The numbers, what do they mean? I can't sleep now, they beckon me. They whisper to me yet incomprehensibly. The more I try to focus on them, the blurrier they become in my mind. Yet they've told me all there is to now, but there is no room to retain it, no, only the numbers remain. They live in the numbers, you know? The ones from beyond. They retain inaudible screams on their charred, forsaken faces. I only know one thing: Follow the steps to salvation. But what are the steps to salvation? _______________ (Several pages later) Do you see them too? They inaudibly scoff at my attempts to resist. They are held captive in my mind, and they want out, I have no way to refuse. They have showed me the signs, the bird, the arch, and the sword. Those are the steps, but I can't decipher them. Whenever I try to think about and decide what they mean, my mind screeches to a halt, I develop a severe pain, and a loud screeching noise is created. The doctors tell me only I can hear them, but I knew that, the ones from beyond told me. They say they don't exist, that's where they're wrong.
  19. As I discussed in volume 1, life presents many challenges that people just aren't willing or ready to face. There is still hope for those who would look for it. All the same time, the Darkness of the world is looking for you. Once you escape the darkness that is the weakness of the human psyche, as I have, the world will be yours to change, but you may not completely enjoy what you find. The path I have taken is one I have dubbed Enlightenment, and not in the simple way it is used in everyday conversation. I have dropped the shackles of social barriers and dedicated myself to pursuing the truth. If you do so as well, you may achieve uncomfortable yet profound and powerful knowledge. Many people are not completely equipped to cope with the truth that once life is over, it is over. The life that you are given is finite, which you may notice interferes with the infinite ambition some people hopelessly and foolishly pursue. Just try to do something, I for one start many projects that I never finish, that's because I find something more important to do. Maybe there is something to be learned from that, in that your plans for life are not binding. Get one thing done at a time, if you try too many goals at once, you will not do anything. And wanting and achieving one thing is infinitely better than wanting everything and achieving nothing, as so many have over the course of history. People's blind hopes for the future are sometimes justified, after all, how else could they get through life, but more importantly, why would they? As with most religious views, ambition is the product of the systems that give us our sense of purpose. With enough training, as I have done, you can redefine that purpose and abandon the bindings that keep you tied down, further limiting you. While my life is still limited after dropping the bondage that is social expectations, I am infinitely more enlightened. Many people confuse enlightenment for insanity, but as I have discussed, insanity does not exist. Perhaps the term you are looking for is mental illness, but regardless, neither exist inside of me or my kin. Unless of course, society suddenly decides it would be in their benefit to consider me not well. But that is another matter entirely. People want things, this is not new news for anybody who has ever associated with one. However, people's methods for getting the things they want vary. Some humans are just impulsive by nature, and do whatever they feel to be right. Society feeds off of this personality to nurture their infinite hole of darkness and ignorance that the public is being dragged head first into. People somehow drill the idea into their head that at some point, all of the problems in the world will be resolved by some force beyond their control. Perhaps they are right about the first half, but it is important to note that when humanity solves a problem, it is not wishful-thinking that gets us to it, it is the sweat, blood, and tears of our fellow humans. If somebody truly wishes to see change, they have to work for it. But they often choose the wrong way to go about it. While violence has many many places where it is necessary (Despite claims to the contrary by the many), it is not the answer to all of our problems. The truth is, there is NO answer to all of our problems. Not even multiple answers, some problems are unsolvable gaps with which humanity must make due and find ways to survive in spite of these issues. Humans usually feel there is some kind of victory waiting for them at the end of life, I agree that it's a possibility, but someone will have to build this victory themselves, out of their accomplishments, victories, knowledge, and personality. They must build themselves a legacy. To be continued in Volume 3.
  20. Today is a Tuesday, a good day in my book, alas I would not settle for any other day to fall on this point in time. I have thought about my passions, and my worries. Worries are not to be confused with fear, for to fear is to show weakness, I try to destroy weaknesses whenever and wherever I can. However, the day has pursued my mind and left it in a state of enlightenment, and people have been looking at me as if I was speaking in tongues. Perhaps I should not blame them, they have not seen what I have seen, or heard what I have heard. Their minds were not as malleable as mine, I could withstand harsh psychological challenges. Maybe I was strong, maybe I was just too insane to realize the pain that I felt inside, but either way, it does not matter. The clock strikes the numerals, counting away the hours, and yet, time does not exist, it is merely a construct of human creation to explain the progression of events. This analogy is useful when describing many social situations wherein no inherent logic exists but it is society's self-imposed standards that lead to the result. Insanity is one such standard. People do not entirely understand that sometimes, the insane person can be right. They could be the most knowledgeable and wise person in the room, since the word insanity describes the feelings of the people around them and not any condition that they actually hahve. While some wish to understand the faces in their religious texts, they are fools. They cannot understand such things until they first understand the face in the mirror. The mirror can reveal a lot about a person, the unique thing about your reflection is that it does not react to anything you don't, somehow I find that this is a fitting metaphor for the real world. Wherein nothing happens unless you react to it. Everybody exists in a different reality, because reality is entirely how you perceive things. Somebody's red could be your yellow, you just don't know, there are no words that can describe it. And since you only ever live through a single person's perspective, you never can understand it. For that reason, humans are isolated creatures. Many problems people face are self-induced, but that is not the only type of problem that plagues people. A darkness seeps across the land, metaphorically, devouring people in sorrow and bleakness in unfathomable ways. Their entire lives seemingly turning against them. People ask me how I solve these problems, the simple answer is that I don't. I merely let them coexist with me, and when they interfere with my plans, I snap their neck with the knowledge of their inner workings that I have accrued. Much like a platypus, life is your greatest enemy. Also like Platypuses, life is an abominable mish-mash of things that seemingly deserve to be as far apart as physically possible. I will continue in volume 2.
  21. I am going to use this article to explain the inner workings of an internet ego. I will do this in a question and answer format. So that I know what I am talking about, I shall use my own humongous ego as a point of comparison. I am doing this for many reasons, one of them is because I just feel like clearing up some misunderstandings, and two is that it is uncomfortable, I ran out of my prescription and I am just itching to write something, both literally and metaphorically. Q: Why do people get egos on the internet? A: Various reasons, including simple attention seeking, actual medical conditions, Extreme douchebaggery (I like to call this one Mitt Romney Syndrome), and others. See the last question for a more detailed explanation. Q: Where do people get egos on the web? A: Well, to answer your question, I would say that it can start a variety of places, but most prominently, this person has had an ego in real life for quite a long time, and is just not willing or in most cases, not able to let go of it. Perhaps they have received praise for something and believe that is enough validation to declare themselves lord of the internet, or something similarly ridiculous, in that vain. Q: Do people with egos have ill-intent? A: They can, and sometimes, they will, but they don't have to. I have a huge ego and it is about as harmless as me talking about myself a lot, but that is about it. On the other hand, some people can reach Scientologist levels of ego-driven jerkassery, but if they are acting like that, they are probably just jerks, with or without the ego. People without egos are just as likely to be jerks than those with ego, but you would assume that all people with huge egos are jerks because they just (usually) make a lot more ruckus than those who are just nice people with abnormally high self-worth. Q: Why are egos more prominent on the web than in real life? A: To put it simply, because the internet is set up specifically to form egos. You are communicating with people who you cannot see the face of, and the whole emotional aspect is lost in transition, so in order to succeed on the internet you need the approval of complete strangers. Some people just get way too used to being approved and can't let go of it.
  22. This is a bit of an interesting story, and It's going to start a bit back before I joined the forums. I used to be a user of a little forum I won't name now, it has built quite a legacy but is dying off. However, I stayed around, and amassed almost 10,000 posts. Somehow, my life remained empty and meaningless, I was constantly tormented by an array of insults delivered both online and off, and I was just generally failing at life in every conceivable way. At this point, I had been a brony for a while already, but I had not engaged the community at all. That is when I started searching for an MLP forum, and an MLP forum there was, it was THE MLP forum. I can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt, from the bottom of my heart, that joining this forum is one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me. I had become depressed to the point where I had attempted suicide several times, and life as a whole just seemed pointless to me at the time, but I decided that I may as well try talking to a new group of people, that is likely one of the best decisions I ever made. Almost immediately after I joined the forums, my depression dissipated. It just kind of vanished, not unlike Rob Schneider's career as a director. And I am glad for it, not only did the forums lift my depression, it inspired me to do so much more. The community here inspired me not only to get back into writing, but to embrace comedy once more. Without you, forums, I don't know where I would be. You guys are the best.
  23. I have wandered, for so very long. I have formed friendships that we thought strong enough to stand the test of time. We acted as one. We played together, we sang together, but most importantly, we were together. We were young, we were naive, but we were together... We laughed, we cried, we would do anything for each other. That was so very long ago. It has been two thousand years, yet it feels as if it was just yesterday that we were sitting around our beautiful oak wood table, telling tales of conquest and laughing heartily. I no longer find comfort in these memories. When I was young, in the desert, my father had told me that like the sands, life is fluent, and ever changing. Old landmarks fade away, and new ones take their place. He was only half right. I watched my friends, my joy, and my hope fade away...crumbling to dust before me. I sit here now, in my old age, wishing for the sweet release that they were met with, I find no such refuge. I sit here, with a knife through my chest, yet still I continue breathing. Why? Why will it not release me from my suffering? My body cannot die, but each and every time my friends have passed, I have died inside, yet still I live. I just.. want to be together again.
  24. So, I have compiled a list of some Skyrim mods I personally recommend. These are just mods that I have enjoyed and opinion may vary. If you're into mods extensively you have probably seen some or all of these, but they are still worth a look. I will add more to this list as time goes on. This list is not in any particular order. Although I will saw that the first one on the list is highly recommended for all those who love heavy armor. Prerequisite-SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender) the successor to the OBSE for Oblivion. It is recommended as it adds much functionality to the game and most large mods require it. 1.) Heavy Oblivion-Style Plated Imperial Soldiers I loved this mod because it makes the Legion look much more fearsome and far less ridiculous. Plus, it is fully-closed including the helmet, which I always prefer, personally. 2.) Stormcloaks with Sleeves This mod simply replaces the main part of the Stormcloak and guard armor. It does not modify much, it just adds sleeves to add to the realism. The mesh file that it replaces the normal armor with is official and was included but not used by the game by default. 3.) Build Your Own Home This allows you to customize your very own home. It looks absolutely amazing and it is worth downloading even if you have the Hearthfire DLC. The locale is beautiful and this is one of my favorite home mods. 4.) Frostfall (An immersion mod) This mod adds some elements of survival to the game, while not being too tedious, it was mentioned in PC Gamer Magazine (UK). I like the immersion it adds to the game.
  25. These are my favorite icons I have used at some point. I decided that for the sake of archiving them for your viewing pleasure, I will post them here. I did not draw these, by the way. And because I'm not a thief, the title above each avvie links to the source picture so that you know where I got the pictures and to give well-deserved recognition to the amazing artists. Vote on your favorite avatar in the poll above. 150x150 150x200 Also, if you're wondering which one my personal favorite is, that would be icon 9.
