  1. ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE? *not a real event Story Time With Jeric So for several years one of the most helpful individuals on MLPF helping users out hasn't been staff. It's been one of the most friendly, least aggressive, and probably one of the best visual in-joke comedians on this site. Obviously we wanted this guy on staff. I jumped back on board as an Admin almost a year ago and within a few days I was like, "We need this guy! This guy's fantastic." Everyone agreed. We contacted him and he seemed interested ... so I said to myself I need to get this guy interviewed ASAP. I'll get him set up on staff in a week. How well did that go? This is not an exaggeration. Joking aside, I am pleased to announce @Rikifive will be stepping into the role of our dedicated staff for Canterlot, focusing on Site Questions and Feedback. I hope to work really closely in the coming months to improve communication and maybe even solve a few minor annoyances. Even though Riki is going to be our help Pone for the community, recently he has been helping out with some event related items. On a very personal note, this was my first MLPF staff role here. Since then only a few have filled that spot and all have been major players on MLPF over the years. Riki, doesn't have to fill shoes though, he is already a major player here. I genuinely can't think we have ever had a better person for the Canterlot section since I've been here, and that includes me. Riki, you already own this section. Spread them wings.

May not be historically accurate.) -- Whew! It feels like quite a while since we've last had an announcement like this. Every once in a new moon, an individual of the forums displays the tenacity, patience, understanding and empathy that comes with taking up the reigns of leadership among the community. The task of seeking out a new administrator is never an easy one. I firmly believe that each of our staffers who have volunteered their time to keep this community an enjoyable environment for all nurture each of these traits in their time among the team. Each has the potential to one day lead the direction of this forum, though not all may choose to do so. Sometimes, we seek out those whom we feel are ready to take that step, and ask if they are willing to step into the role of MLPF Administration. @Venomous has long displayed her keen moderating skills for nearly 3 years on the MLPF team, keeping a proficient eye over the realm of of Beyond Equestria. No small feat for a section which is commonly regarded as one of the more difficult to moderate (many, many tales can be recounted about DP) and has always approached her position with the kind of flair and finesse that mark a fine staffer and an even better community member. Ever eager to learn more, she took initiative to ask about one day being entrusted with greater responsibility, and from that point on was firmly set in our sights as being the next of our clan to join the ranks of the high council of MLPF! And so, it gives us great pleasure to announce that @Venomous takes on a splash of blue and becomes the next Community Administrator of MLP Forums! Each of us here have complete confidence in her ability to do the role proud and to continue being a stalwart member of this community. Her demeanor, work ethic, intuition and natural personality will no doubt take her a long way in this next stage of the journey. Congratulations to you, Venny! You're going to make an amazing admin!

    Ask a Staffer!

    After a little bit of discussion, we came to the conclusion that making an all-inclusive “Ask a Staffer” thread would be a great opportunity for members to get to know our team! How it works: Anyone may simply ask a question in here, no matter the subject (so long as it remains appropriate of course) and a random staff member will come around to answer you. The questions can be serious, fun, pertain to certain individual staff members, whatever! All in the name of getting more familiar with our hard-working staff members.   4. Welcome to Discord Graphic Design, please enjoy the memes. A bit of forum history for ya'll noobs who only joined in the time since early 2015. Back in the days of the early empire, a bright-eyed sectional moderator named (for the sake of keeping privacy we'll refer to him as '=Cleotic Mimcard=') had the bright idea to create a chart of alignments for the most active of the forum's daily staff. And so, working alongside the Octavia's Hall moderator at the time, the two made a chart for the ages that detailed the various kind of magical horses that ran the empire - from the mighty alicorns to the modest of fillies. *Le Click Me* I wonder how many names you can recognize~ Well, it's 2018, and since bringing things back is such a hit media idea, we decided it was high-time to make an updated list. This time, our dear friend =Cleotic Mimcard= needed no help in creating such a chart. Sure, he's no artist, but one can accomplish quite a lot with a lot of patience and a copy of 'Graphic Design for Dummies'. *Please, Sir, Can I Have Some More Click?* And now for some boring disclaimers! 1: Neither chart lists all staff members on the forum. Only staff notably active in the daily staff chats (then Skype, now Discord), and/or display daily forum activity are chosen.   5. The room is dark. You hear noises all around the house. Creaks, shudders, and the rasping sound of the unknown can frighten the unaware. However one thing helps to ease your fear of the dark unknown... ...a nightlight! A lucid one at that. I would like to formally announce that @Lucid_Nightlight will be lighting up the dark unknowns of the Roleplay section as our new sectional. Give him a nice lucid welcome! P.S It really isn't that dark in RP. Don't be afraid of us there!
  6. With the increased emphasis on Events and some event related projects coming down the line, the Events Team has agreed to take on another staffer to ensure that we can stay on top of everything. Stepping into the ring is @Denim&Venom who becomes the latest official member of the Event Team in the specific role as Event Coordinator. He has definitely been active with many events including the World Cup event (which is about to resume shortly). Please congratulate him and wish him the best of luck in the new role.
  7. A bit ago I started an initiative to create a new group of staffers on MLPF that were dedicated to community events. Since I started that team one individual has become leader within it, always coming up with idea after idea, supporting the rest of the team, administration, and working very independently when needed. MLPF has quite a few opportunities and needs that I want to tackle going into the new year, so Events will need a focal individual that can help to keep things moving forward as I focus on reworking RP and looking at other areas within this community that can be more fun and active. Effective immediately @Lord Valtasar will be taking a role as Team Leader for the Events Team. Please congratulate him on all his hard work and wish him the best of luck going forward. From an outward glance this should be almost unnoticeable for the community as I expect that LV will continue to be the charming and highly actively party planner that he always was, but with more responsibility, pressure, and stress. :P J/k He's gonna do great.

    staff An Odyssey Home

    Back in May if 2015 I was made an Admin. My first staff hire was for A young and talent individual named @Odyssey I saw something in her back then. A gentleness and intelligence, and a longing to be a part of something. She had taken on being a Sectional in the art areas on MLPF. Her sound judgement and mannerisms endeared her to the entire staff and she was a rising star in the community. Life’s journey sometimes requires us to step away though. Just as I did, and others have, Ody had to leave staff. Her return was something of a surprise. Pleasant to be sure. She was instantly welcomed back on staff with open arms, but what we found in Ody was something of a new person. Time can be a fickle thing. It can age you into bitter shell. Not her. Confidence and wit found a home with her and she made these traits hers. Seeing her chime in and participate has been a great reminder to me that we all grow and change, and sometimes that growth leads to something remarkable. It brings me great pleasure to welcome Ody as our new Global Moderator of Beyond Equestria. She will work closely with @Venomous and @Creamy Arty in making sure BE stays the general purpose communal environment to make friends and memories. Congrats Ody. Welcome home!

    Staff Duty

    Imagine yourself in this situation. You're on the last leg of your 8-hour work shift, and it's Friday. You're tired because you didn't sleep too well the night previous. You've been nothing but a caffeine-driven machine for the entire week, and you're watching the clock tick down the last few minutes of your shift. Five minutes. Three minutes. Two minutes. One minute... And then "Bam!", your shift is over, and you get to go home. And you feel that rush of relief wash over you, knowing that you're able to go home, take a shower or something, and sleep for like 10 hours. Now take that feeling, and multiply it by three. And that's what coming off staff duty feels like. - Staff duty. What is it? Well, I'm sure it differs from unit to unit, but in my experience, staff duty is simultaneously one of the best and worst things you could ever possibly put yourself through. Staff duty refers to a work that you spend at a Staff Duty desk, also known as Charge of Quarters (CQ) desk at the barracks. Usually you're on duty with one NCO (Sergeant or higher) and two runners (Specialist and lower). The NCO is in charge of the shift, and the runners fulfill extra duties throughout the day, like road guard during morning PT or administrative work at the dining facilities. When you're not on extra duty (which is the majority of the time you're there), you're sitting at the desk doing pretty much nothing. My unit allows people to bring their own electronics, so a lot of people just spend the majority of the shift gaming, watching videos, etc. The staff duty shift starts at 9 in the morning, which is great, since you get to sleep in a little bit (yes, 9 AM is considered sleeping in for me). What's not great is when the shift ends, which is also 9 AM. The next day. A full 24-hour work shift where you're not allowed to fall asleep, and you're just stuck at a desk all day and all night with whatever entertainment devices you brought. Now, on paper, it doesn't sound too bad. Sure, it's long, but you get to sleep in, you don't have to do morning PT, you don't have to go to work, and you can spend most of the day on your electronics. You also get the next day off, so that you can sleep and "recover" from your shift, so that's two days of PT you get to miss. The only real issue is the fact that, despite being able to chill out for a while, you're forced to stay awake for the whole time. Like, when it's 6 PM and your friends are all coming off work and going to their beds to... I dunno, sleep, since they have to get up early the next day, you feel pretty left out, knowing that you have about 15 more hours before you can do the same. Some NCO's are cool, and will divide up the time during the night so that his runners can get some sleep. I remember on my first staff duty shift, my NCO let me go to my room and sleep for about 4 hours, then called me back so the other runner could sleep. They're not "supposed" to do that, but technically you only need one person at the desk at all times, so it's not breaking any of the rules. But my last staff duty shift (aka last night, which is why I'm talking about it), my NCO didn't give me breaks at all.. I would have to go to the dining facility to do that aforementioned administrative work, which took two hours and I did it three times (lunch, dinner, breakfast the next day), and after that I'd run over to the gas station to get some coffee and gatorade, but other than that, I never left the desk. I ended up staying up for about 27 hours total yesterday/today, most of that time was spent gaming. Most of it was EVE Online. I get that it's probably weird to hear someone complaining about gaming for several hours on end... and yeah, I've done longer marathons before. The difference there was that I wasn't forced to stay awake; I chose to stay up for 35 hours so that I could finally finish that one perfect Middleweight robot design that would look oh-so-cool on my team and make me only the third worst in the league... like, I chose to do that. But if you're forced to stay awake for a long period of time, especially when you're not used to it... you end up feeling like crap. Here's my, well... my "stats" of what I did last night, just in case you wanted to know: Time spent awake -- 27 hours, since 7 AM on Thursday to about 10 AM on Friday Time spent on staff duty -- 24 hours, since 9 AM on Thursday to 9 AM on Friday Time spent gaming -- about 18 hours Longest unbroken gaming streak -- about 13 hours, from 6 PM Thursday to 7 AM Friday Coffee consumed -- about 60 oz. Again, I don't really know why I'm complaining about this stuff, since it's really not too bad. Maybe it's because it's just such a long shift that I feel like it's an accomplishment or something, like "oh look, I stayed up super late last night and had nothing but coffee!" but... I dunno. Maybe I just wanted to share an experience in my life that I had recently. At any rate, I won't forget that for a while. :v
  10. Sometimes MLP Forums is good on staff. It does happen. Just not often. Right now? Right now is not one of those times. Currently we're short staff in three sections. Canterlot Roleplay FIM So, what does this mean for prospective applicants? First, let's break down the jerb: A sectional moderator is a volunteer position in which members of the community get a bit more responsibility here on MLP Forums. They proactively report problem threads and posts, move, merge, and retitle, and make sure that ever'thang generally stays within the rules global rules on the forums. They work with global moderators, team leads, and administrators to keep all of the things in tip top shape. Global moderators, team leads, and administrators? What do they do? Most of us (not all, but most) started out as a sectional moderator. From there we were promoted to global. Globals usually also have an area of focus, but also add input on all reports that sectionals send, and carry out the decisions of those reports. Team leads are global moderators that help focus the section, assign tasks if need be, and often will train new and incoming staff. Administrators are broken down by tech (unbreaking the broken) and community. Community admins organize all of the things aforementioned, respond to tickets, work on permissions, do announcements, etc. I've had warnings in the past. Will that affect my chances to become a moderator? It can. We look at many factors when deciding if a member is accepted as a moderator or not. Among them being of course the application, past warning history, age (more on that below), how long you've been a member, and maturity. Age? What?! Whelp, you have to be at least 13 to join the forums, right? We also generally try to make sure that applicants are within a few years of 18, since moderators can often see some pretty disturbing content. While the sectional position isn't necessarily a stepping stone to that purple badge, many sectionals are promoted to global moderator. That said, we don't want a sectional sitting at that level for ages just because we want a full moderator to be 18. Therefore we generally look for applicants to be at least 16. Everything you just said sounds kind of awful. Why would I actually want to be a sectional after everything you've said? To be honest, I've met some of my closest friends through MLP Forums. While they may no longer be moderators, I'm still incredibly close with them. And those who are still, I have an incredible respect for. We have some good times, a lot of laughs, and are generally pretty close. The camaraderie is truly the best part about being a mod. Fine. I'm interested. What's next? Here's the app. Yay! Great! That's done. Now what? Wait. Seriously. We get a lot of apps. We'll do our best to reply to everyone, but some people may slip through the cracks. We will also turn a lot of people down. If you are turned down, don't take it personally. We encourage you if you're still interested to wait a few months and apply again. If you wish to know why you were turned down, feel free to contact an admin and ask. We're friendly enough. We'll stop taking applications when we feel we've gotten enough people, so uh... Apply on. Interested in a section that's not listed as being open? That's cool too, but don't get your hopes up too much, as we super need people for RP, FIM and Canterlot.
  11. Hi everyone! This is a very long time coming but I'm finally on it. Everyone's noticed the Golden Oaks Library and the readers therein. There have been quite a few readings since we opened up, but what many may or may not know is that the readers are themselves staff and you know what that means around here. First I want to introduce the readers who were already staff members. We have quite a few- there was no shortage of people on staff who liked the idea of the library. TheTaZe: TaZe is actually the first person to become a reader which I think is a pretty neat distinction to have. Today is also his birthday so please leave him a lot of love on his profile. ^ ^ Jeric: And then there's this guy... > > J has been involved in so much you may not have expected to see him pop up on this list, but he did! Our very own MLPF force of nature has no shortage of hands to stick into the many cookie jars around the staff washroom. PathfinderCS: You're probably expecting a deer pun. I'm almost expecting Path's first story to involve Spyro the Dragon. Or Bambi fanfiction. Or Something pertaining to King Sombra. Hard to say since he's been so busy. What do you think? He approached me outside of the application thread and after a short back and forth very quietly snuck his way into the reader staff chat. Yep, that's Batbrony alright. cx From our community, however, we had a relatively decent turnout of applications. From those applications we've managed to find a few incredible people, if I do say so myself! Quinch: Quinch is one of our more levelheaded readers and I'm actually pretty thankful for that. He also has a really interesting voice. I have a lot of recommendations for him, but we'll see if my slow drip of Twilight Sparkle fanfiction drive him crazy. (Or recruit him... as planned... > > ) Clod: So... I was listening in to what I thought was Quinch's reading session yesterday and I needed to step away for a while. I came back and Clod was reading the US constitution... Expect anything from this one! Mesme Rize: Expect sneks. Lots of sneks. Seriously, the very first story he told me he's be reading involved snakes and hypnotism. I guarantee you know what you're coming for when Mesme is reading even without looking at the story beforehand. cx I'm very proud of and thankful for all of you. This was originally just a silly thing I did with ponies elsewhere before I came to MLPF but I'm really happy to see this starting to gain a bit of traction here. I know this announcement was a long time coming but I hope that everyone knows how much it means to at least me having you all here. Thank you all very much. <3

I'm new to these introductions, but I will do my best for the sake of the person I want you all to meet (or in the case of many of you who have been here for a while, reacquaint yourself with). One thing I've learned since we've opened the Golden Oaks Library is that it's going to take a lot of effort from more than just me to make it fun and accessible to everyone, including our readers. So for that purpose, I'm hiring up someone to help me run it co-operatively. @~C. Discord~ , the master of chaos himself, has volunteered his services once again to MLPF and I personally couldn't have been happier to see another former staffer return to us. And a writer no less! Here's hoping Golden Oaks isn't too set on it's current design and direction of gravity. "But Rosie!" you scream, "Isn't it irresponsible to hire a spirit of chaos to look after something as organization-heavy and quiet as a library?!" Let me ask you this; have you ever even tried reading upside down in the fourth dimension with your story's words constantly shifting in font? It might actually be fun! Yes that NSider! I don't want to say what he did there, since it make show what is up his sleeves. It isn't just his resume that caught my attention. His ideas, enthusiasm, ability to compromise, and genial nature make him a perfect fit ... a simpatico Sunny if you will. Welcome @Ganondorf8 You can honestly say one day ... "I was announced as a party pony by a talking refrigerator!" I mean ... when a fridge makes your intro ... you know you made it! Back to you Fridge!

    "A city where you can get a happy ending, but only if you pay a little extra." Yep, sometimes you gotta dish out a little to gain a little. It's the hard truth that has been prevalent all throughout history. However, some in particular find themselves in the prime position to... assist you in this endeavour. To lessen the burden by relieving you of one's 'coin'. You see where I'm getting at yet? Well, the chances are that if you've never played Skyrim (despite Todd Howard's best attempts), or indeed any Elder Scrolls game, you are now regarding this post with confusion and/or suspicion. Is this the long suspected announcement that MLP Forums has gone full-on corporate? Are we now to start charging you for profile space? Will we limit your monthly posting allotment to a subscription package? Are new emotes to be made available only via loot boxes!? ...Or perhaps you just want me to shut up and get on with the obvious announcement. In truth; there was once a member of MLPF Staff by the name of "Khajiit". Perhaps to avoid the all too frequent distrust and discrimination against his feline species, however, Khajiit stepped away from his position and returned to the warm sands of Elsweyr, where he could at least operate his totally-legitimate Skooma business without the constant eye of judgemental ponies. However, times have changed, and the Skooma business isn't what it once was. Khajiit has since turned a new leaf and gone legit-legit, even changing his working name to @Passion to show that he is, erm... very passionate about his new line of coin-generating ventures! And what is this new venture, you may ask? Okay, in all seriousness, @Passion's new... passion is for art. Specifically, for the art found in Octavia's Hall, where he will now be based as a Sectional Moderator for the team. I'm always glad to see old faces returning, but we are all supremely confident in Passion's abilities both from his previous experience and 'passion' to help OH grow as a whole into the future! I have no doubt that OH has gained a valuable new stalwart. ...Just remember to keep your thieving Khajiit hands to yourself in there. Best of luck, @Passion, and welcome to the team.

Coming from a military and project focused background, he is perfect for helping us steer the ship of crazy .... crazy fun that is. Congratulations @Jedishy for making it on the team. From simple events like Baloon Day, to larger events like The Pony World Cup, these events require some planning, creativity, the wisdom to compromise your favorite ideas to fit what we can actually pull off, a genial disposition, and the ability to enthusiastically communicate. We want to continue the momentum of these events going forward, but one or two people don't make for the best idea factory. Mods, Sectionals, and Admins usually have their hooves full with an overflowing plate of issues that it does impact how much time they can dedicate to planning and executing the fun stuff. Enter the Event Coordinator position. MLPF'S own team of Party Ponies focused on working with me on event planning and implementation. The role is an official MLPF Staff Role (complete with its own staff badge and title) though absent the business of actually moderating and policing the site's rules. You would be responsible for helping me plan events, coming up with new ideas, helping to encourage activity in specific areas of the site, and helping me to communicate, promote, and execute the events.   17. It's a working title. BELOLD! The Great and Powerful Trixie has been given the greatest of duties she has done today. Yes yes even more wondrous than upstaging Princess Twilight with giving you your teacup back, though it is certainly close. You all may think that Alicorn Princesses are the greatest job in Equestria. They save the world time and again and keep us Ponies save, right? They do that, yes. BUT SO CAN US SHOW PONIES! Was it not Trixie , with some assistance from her friends, who saved Princess Twilight, the entire Royal Court, and Saviors of Equestria from the vile claws of Bug Queen? Me, a most humble show pony and master entertainer, saved all. So it gives the Great and Powerful Trixie pleasure to announce the first of several capable Show Ponies to take on the duties of planning and entertaining the ponies of this dimension. I present to you @Lord Valtasar as your first Event Coordinator. Of course he has exquisite taste in those who came before him, as he may well be my greatest fan. We show ponies have to stick together, even when the peanut butter crackers are in short supply. I have also taught him all he knows so I have no doubt that he shall be the second greatest and most powerfuler-est ... um ... EVENT MASTER west of Manehattan. Just reminid him that he should always ALWAYS remember who is his inspiration. Oh who am I kidding, I am sure he'll do amazing. Show Ponies are the best after all.   18. Okay, okay! So, I'm usually not one for these public announcement things. Usually, it's Twilight who's good at all that boring stuff. But, I just had to come here as soon as I heard this AWESOME bit of news! So, look, we all know that I'm the most awesomest pony there is, no competition! But, there are some others who do get preeeeety close. Heck, when you're a Cloudsdale pegasus, you're already more than halfway there, then you just gotta show that you can keep up with the best! To be the Pony, you gotta beat the Pony! ...Now, the thing is, SOMETIMES we get a little, umm... 'out-of-hoof' with our competitiveness. A little too... unsporting. What I mean is; we step outta line. Hey, I'm a Wonderbolt! It's just in our nature! But my point is: anytime we do go a little overboard, there's always been one Pegasus who's been there to bring us back into line. His name is @TheTaZe and he is unquestionably, UNDOUBTEDLY, awesome~! Seriously, he spots trouble like, a MILE away! You could be down in Ponyville and causing trouble, I guarantee he'd be there in 10 second flat! Well, sometimes it's actually his 'OC' that shows up (umm.. whatever that means?) but, trust me on this; you turn around and see this pegasus waving at you: Then you had BETTER make sure that you're not doing anything to upset the other ponies! (Seriously! That wave is your only warning!) But it gets even better! See, I just heard that because he's so cool at what he does, he's been brought on to help the ponies over on MLP Forums as an official Staff Sectional! AWESOME!! So, he'll be helping to moderate things over in the 'Friendship is Magic' section (my favorite!) and you can bet your wing feathers they'll be happy to have him there!     An egg wiggles, cracks forming in its shell, ready to hatch. The egg opens, and out pops a lovely vulpix! This sweet and warm-hearted creature would bring a smile to anyone’s face, and her six fabulous tails are indicators of her wisdom. With time and training, she’s sure to become a strong, wise, majestic ninetails one day. Obviously such a great pokemon deserves a spot on the MLPForums team, but first she’ll need a nickname. Looking at her, somehow @Stardust* seems like a perfect fit. Stardust* is joining the MLPF staff as a sectional for RolePlay world. Please give her a warm welcome!

  23. Look..... this is going to be very hard for me to post. I know the risks of doing so.... but it has to be done. I've felt so guilty all this time and hoped that this might have been resolved quietly without any drama like last time.... like last October.... ironic.. heh... I know there will be a lot of anger with all of this, but I ask people to try to react to this in the most responsible way possible. You all have the right to be angry and outraged, but please, do not let it overtake your behavior here, as we don't want to give the forum staff any extra job of having to do cleanups. I have talked with @PiratePony about this and told him of what I was about to do, I have talked with other members of staff, because I did not want to wade in blind nor did I want them to be taken by surprise when I posted this. They deserve to know my full intentions here.... To give a bit of a context, I was once a Global Moderator on this site (before that I was a Sectional staff member), I worked with the staff on most every matter that I could be working on here on the forums. However, there was one other who also used to do that. His name was Matey, @PiratePony. He was one of the greatest staff members to have ever worked within the forums, having been the treasurer of Poniverse as well at one point. Everything he did, it was so just and he was very understanding with everybody, very engaging and he went by the book..... and for that.... he was terminated within the staff.... See, dramatic things have happened within the staff. This took place back in April. But if I had to think harder about it, this actually took place a bit before that even, when the head of Poniverse, @AppleDashPoni came up with the idea of implementing an NSWF section here on the forums. This was rejected hard by most of us on forum staff, but none were as hard opposed to it as Pirate was.... and I think that is what drew him the ire of @AppleDashPoni. The conversation was not a pleasant one, AppleDash did not seem to understand that we worked as a team and that we reached common agreement before taking an action on something. We did discuss his wish, but in the end, we declined it. Let us now fast forward over to April (even though I did not mention any date previously for the NSFW discussion). Pirate was informing us of the possibilities that we might have in regards to the possible change of leadership. Nothing out of the ordinary, this was information that we should have all been aware about... he was telling us this (and just to be clear, this all took place on Skype)... and then the dreadful message of [5.4.2017 20:01:32] *** Blackjack removed PiratePony from this conversation. *** happened..... this was..... everyone in staff (at least moderators and administrators) reacted negatively to this. And I can safely say here now that no one accepted what AppleDash did and we all protested this harshly. AppleDash had taken the authority to fire Pirate, a Global Moderator, on his own volition without consulting anyone about it, not even the forum's administration. Look..... I am now going to provide you with the log with both the discussion we had about it and the log which @AppleDashPoni himself provided as "evidence" of Pirate "personally attacking" him and "working against the corporation's leadership". Look, when I provide you with the logs of the discussion we had within staff (Global Moderators and Administrators), you will see that some names will be presented as "Anonymous 1" or "Anonymous 2". Those are people who have either requested that their name not be shown or are people I have not been able to contact, so I will show them the dignity and respect for their privacy to not publicize their names. However, the names that will appear there are of mine and AppleDash and of those who have agreed to allow me to show their name. I respect the privacy of people of not wanting to get dragged into some drama, but here come the logs of the conversation we had, though be warned, there will be missing context as I in the end leave the chat, but I have heard that the chat went on, though it was very unfruitful.... I have colored some of the names just to make it a bit easier to keep up with the conversation, on who is saying what. And when there is no space between lines, that would mean that someone is being quoated, for instance when it appears I am saying "And personal attacks, baiting, working against the corporation's leadershipFrom the example you provided, that is false. " this is actually me quoting AppleDash until it reaches "From the..." which is my reply to the quote of his words. Be aware that me editing the "anonymous" parts and putting color to names is the only edit I do. Everything else is completely untouched and raw. Also, another thing to be aware of, AppleDash is actually Blackjack on Skype. That is (or was) his username at least. If you are busy in any way, I suggest you keep this window open still as this might get removed, even though I have talked with the people who would have the biggest say here on the forums and I am in full right to write this. The log: Now, you have read the log of the conversation we all had and you can see it is all hostile. Usually we do not get so hostile, but Pirate's firing came as great shock to us all and it was too much of a surprise, it was just so surreal. To make matters worse, AppleDash did not really want to talk to us or even converse with us as a team, but rather talk to every single one of us "privately". We did not trust that, so we had the discussion within the group chat on Skype anyways because there was no way we were going to trust him with private chats. Better to keep things as transparent as possible. Here is the log that @AppleDashPoni himself provided as "evidence" of Pirate personally attacking him and working against the leadership. I will post it in the form of the link he himself provided as when I copy and paste it over here, it just becomes really messy. Now you basically have full context of what has happened. I just want to say.... I did not expect things to go as they went.... You will ask: "Why? Why now? Why are you bringing this up now of all times and not immediately when it happened?". To be honest.... I thought this might have gotten resolved within staff. I thought that my resignation (and I was expecting more to resign) might put more pressure on AppleDash's leadership and that Pirate would get reinstated.... but... nothing has happened. AppleDash is still the head of Poniverse and PiratePony is still no longer a member of staff. He has not even been apologized to. The people I worked with.... they tried the best they could..... but they were unable to succeed. So things now fall upon the forums as a whole on what type of action they want taken here. I am not trying to start some populist outrage here, but I am doing what I consider to be the right thing to do. People deserve to know about this. Considering that such a gross violation and misconduct of power has been allowed to prevail, the people of Poniverse deserve to know who is leading them. Now.... I intend to lock this commenting section of this blog if I can. Now you will ask why I would do so... because last time, last October when things blew over, when threads were made detailing everything that had happened.... people did not react in the best way in the thread and the anger only grew in those threads with people letting emotion taking more and more over to the point that the staff had to start hiding posts and even hide the thread as it was just so divisive. This is why I ask you, though you can be outraged, to not violate the terms of services of this site.... we all know the rules folks... even if some of our officials and leaders may not.... This might also just be the (former) staffer in me speaking out, trying to conduct public management and trying to contain spread of chaos and... well... you already know guys, heh.... old habits die hard I guess... To summarize this up, Pirate was unjustly fired due to selfish reasons and the current management of Poniverse, or rather, it's current leadership, has shown itself to be untrustworthy and corrupt. Forgive me for using such strong words.... I have tried to stay as neutral in posting this whole thing.... but I think my own thoughts about this whole matter are valid as well. However, @PiratePony If there is anything you wish to say upon this whole matter, I would be happy to unlock the commenting section just for you or to somehow highlight your thoughts upon this whole matter. I'm very happy to announce that our Master of Chaos himself, @Randimaxis, has kindly agreed to take up the reigns of this Section.
