  1. While I do love me some nature and I do not really proactively work towards maintaining it, rather focus on not trying to destroy it, there are things people do I just cannot understand. The latest action coming from Greenpeace seems to confirm that. https://www.thelocal.de/20180626/greenpeace-colour-the-streets-of-berlin-yellow-to-protest-against-coal While I can understand the reasons and intentions, they by no means justify the hazards and dangers the Greenpeace activists have put the population to. While the Germans seem to have traffic issues under control, it does not mean they are not at risk. The strips on the road are no longer visible, as said in article the road is slippery and dangerous for everyone and private property is being damaged as cars forced to drive on this round are being colorized against the will of their drivers. If you asked me, this is not an action that will bring Greenpeace positive recognition they are seeking, but rather an act of pure vandalism to which, worst of all, Greenpeace openly confesses with pride in their eyes. Your opinions?
  2. (If this is a duplicate thread, feel free to merge this with that thread) So what is the funniest news headline you've heard of? If you ask me, well this happened in Guam. "Man gets arrested after throwing feces at police officer"
  3. I hate to bring up such bad news, but we should probably discuss the accusations against ToonKriticY2K alleging sexual misconduct. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHnj3oWALhs Please discuss.
  4. Next year, the Boy Scouts of america will drop the 'boy' part and be all inclusive. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/05/02/boy-scouts-to-change-name-drop-boy-and-accept-girls-in-2019-organization-says.html What do you all think? Any pony here a fellow scout? What's your take? What about any girl scouts? What's your take on the former boy scouts now recruiting girls? Pic related.
  5. Can't believe I'm still working on recreating these dang #BattleGemPonies menus! I feel horrible for taking so much longer than I keep promising out loud, but I can feel in my bones that delaying is the right thing to do... Also, finally got a response from BronyCon on if the panel is happening or not.See #GameDev Log #169: www.yotesgames.com
  6. Hey, everypony! I decided to leave this forum because i haven't used it for a long time.
  7. Last month, a devastating earthquake rocked the Iran-Iraq border. BBC describes it as “the deadliest in the world this year,” with more than 400 people left dead and thousands injured. Major news outlets are reporting that the Iran-Iraq earthquake was a 7.3 magnitude. According to NBC News, an area known as the Kermanshah province suffered the most destruction. The impact, however, was “felt as far west as the Mediterranean coast.” As you read news reporting on the earthquake, you may feel powerless, but there are actually quite a few things you can do to help the victims of the Iran-Iraq earthquake. Thanks to the World Wide Web, you can send donations and raise awareness — wherever you happen to live. This article lists several ways you can help: https://ph.news.yahoo.com/ways-help-victims-iran-iraq-221555889.html
  8. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/21/technology/fcc-net-neutrality.html So apparently, the FCC want's to de-regulate the fair use rules that allow for net neutrality. That all customers get data at the same rate, at the same time. Supposedly the plan is to have companies intervene by granting faster access to their customers. But many are worried that this will be an excuse for companies to hike up prices for faster service, deliberately slowing down internet speeds for those who aren't paying enough, and restricting access to certain sites. The vote begins tomorrow. Should we be worried? Is it as bad as people are saying?
  9. If you've been paying attention to the news over the past few days, the California bay area has been devastated by a series of wild fires. The worst in a hundred years. And the community has been hit very hard with over 8000 homes destroyed. But you can help, by donating to tipping point, which is collecting donations, as well as hosting the Band Together benefit concert, going on as we speak (Rancid is performing as I type). So tune into the show if you're interested (Metallica are the headliners) and please, do donate what you can. https://tippingpoint.org/relief#relief-donate https://www.bandtogetherbayarea.org/
  10. MLP Forums received another official Hasbro press release: Hasbro Announces Dates for 2019 HASCON Event Second-Ever HASCON FANmily Event Scheduled for Sept. 6 - 8, 2019 in Providence, R.I. PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS) today announced that it will host its second-ever HASCON event Sept. 6 - 8, 2019, in Providence, R.I. at the Rhode Island Convention Center and Dunkin’ Donuts Center. Hasbro hosted its inaugural HASCON event this past September, offering families and fans of all ages a completely new way to experience its brands, and a behind-the-scenes pass to the world of Hasbro. The event featured three days of hands-on brand experiences, meet-and-greets, sneak peeks, concerts, exclusive reveals, star-studded panels and fan-centric surprises. “We couldn’t be happier with the feedback we’ve received from our inaugural HASCON event,” said John Frascotti, president, Hasbro, Inc. “We’re looking forward to once again delivering immersive entertainment experiences around our brands for fans and families in 2019.” The 2017 event featured dozens of meet-and-greet opportunities with celebrities, athletes and influencers, including Mark Wahlberg, Stan Lee, David Ortiz, James White, Dude Perfect, Maddie Ziegler, James Gunn, Zach King, Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, and Isabela Moner, among others. 11. In light of all these devastating recent events, I just wanted to post about one of my favorite charities, Samaritan's Purse International Relief. Samaritan's Purse provides disaster and medical relief all over the world, including the hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico, Texas, and Florida. Click on the link below to donate: https://www.samaritanspurse.org/donation-items/hurricane-relief-general/ I've also included a link to Global Giving for Mexico Earthquake Relief and the Gofundme page for victims of the Las Vegas shooting: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/mexico-earthquake-relief-fund/ https://www.gofundme.com/dr2ks2-las-vegas-victims-fund Another Samaritan's Purse project I wanted to talk about is one they do every year around Christmas called Operation Christmas Child (OCC). OCC is a project in which donors fill shoebox-sized boxes with toys, school supplies, and practical items. These boxes are distributed around the world to needy children living in impoverished countries who might otherwise not receive anything at all. https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/what-goes-in-my-shoebox-suggestions/ Please consider giving and show your support. And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. - Matthew 25:40 (KJV)
  12. So hurricane Harvey is hitting the Texas coat, looking to make landfall at Corpus Christi as a Category 4. I'm amazed at just how rapidly this thing grew in intensity. In just 24 hours, it nearly doubled in strength.
  13. For those not in the know, the U.S. will be experiencing total solar eclipse (dammit Luna, you had one job ). This doesn't mean the sun will be blocked out like in the movies, but the sky will be noticeably dimmer in some parts of the country, namely along the path of totality. But if you have the proper filter to look through, say the type of glass used in welding masks pr specialized glasses, then looking at the sun through it will reveal the eclipse in detail. A very rare event and by my last check, the first in a quarter century. So will you go out and check out Luna trying to enshroud the world in eternal night the solar eclipse? To find out where and when you can best view the eclipse, visit https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/eclipse-who-what-where-when-and-how
  14. I got my Glasses, I got my time when I head up to Salem Oregon locked in, and my buddy who is going with me! I can't wait for this eclipse. I just need to now go see if I can get a solar filter for my camera before it is too late and take a picture of it. Or maybe hold a pair of solar glasses up to my camera lense and see if that is good enough. Probably not.
  15. (DQ stands for "Daily Question" it is a new theme me and SugarfootWillie started recently.) I have the impression that most everything in America is negative and focused on murders and beatings. Why don't we change that around and find a few things to be proud of.
  16. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/bowmanville-zoo-closing-1.3649397 http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/ont-zoo-shuttering-after-visits-down-catastrophically-1.2958816 http://globalnews.ca/news/2782021/bowmanville-zoo-to-make-important-announcement-months-after-owner-charged/ https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2015/12/22/peta-accuses-bowmanville-zoo-owner-of-abusing-siberian-tiger.html http://www.durhamregion.com/news-story/6737941-bowmanville-zoo-staff-are-looking-to-find-homes-for-approximately-300-animals/ As of yesterday (June 23, 2016), the World-Famous North American Privately-owned zoo in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada (where I live right now), known for the use of its animals in Hollywood films (Life of Pi is one good example), documentaries, etc., has announced that they will shutdown after the 2016 season. I am very saddened by this, it's not even funny. I've only been there once when I was very young. It all started when PETA misleadingly showed the world that the owner was being abusive to one of the tigers late last year, and because of that I hate them for it. They have ruined the reputation of a privately-owned zoo that was highly respected for many efforts. It will shut down 3 YEARS shy of its 100-year Anniversary. Now I have to chase the opportunity to visit it once more this summer before it closes down for good.
  17. and how are you dealing with it? what do you plan to do? personally im just ignoring it and taking this time to hibernate as much as i can lmao. for those of you that don't know, (which, i doubt it,) a massive blizzard just hit the northeast area. a lotta states are declaring it a state of emergency. "-- 31 million people are under a blizzard warning, 31 million are under a winter storm warning and 9 million are under a winter weather advisory." apparently, it's going to continue snowing in some of our areas as well. i guess we can forget about doing anything outside this week. it's kinda like the weather is trying to make up for the lack of snow this winter season, lol.
  18. Sooo, hello to my blog I guess. I'm gonna put here some news about my art and stuff. Anyways, yesterday was a very tiresome day, I've been drawing all day and thinking about my tutorial. I'm drawing in Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, so if you're interested in drawing: check this My voice in the video might not be pleasant, but that will do, there are subtitles too. Recently, I've created a patreon, if you like my art support me on patreon . By the way, commissions are open on deviantart. Okay, boring stuff aside, what's your opinion on PeanutButterCrackerManiac? If you checked my deviantart, you probably noticed that I'm drawing only her.
  19. Been thinking about making something like this for a while now, so I guess I'll give it a shot~ Pretty much, I'll be hoping to update this blog weekly with good news and lovely moments and so on that I've heard about lately, since I feel the world can tend to overlook the bright side of life from time to time. Obviously, this isn't to say that the world is perfect or that anything bad happening should just be casually dismissed, but these bad happenings already get plenty of attention and responses elsewhere, so I'd like this blog to be free of that as much as possible and instead focus on people and moments that aren't so talked about ~Good Happenings~ Or in case you're not one for reading, here's some nice pics/gifs/vids I've seen very lately :3 ~Lovely sights~ And that's about all I can think of for now Depending on how this goes and my motivation for it, I might do another entry like this next week too. For now, you're welcome to comment any news/images/events etc. you know that brightened your mood, I'm trying to be sorta thorough but I'm sure there's a ton that I'm unaware of! C'ya next week, perhaps~
  20. Okay, I just say right off the bat, I didn't follow the Donald Trump inauguration today, because I'am just not super interested in it, I'am also one of the few people who barely checks the news and doesn't read any newspapers. And I feel like that's one of the most embarressing things to admit, people who aren't informed about the news kinda seem to be looked down on. But it just takes up a lot of brain power that I could use for something else and therefore contribute to society, the news are just distracting and mostly contain information that's useless to me. I think that you should in general focus on only a few things and don't scatter your brain power over a lot of different areas, because then you won't acchive anything in any of them, you wouldn't believe how little I know about ceraint areas. Therefor I just think it's stupid to expect everyone to be informed about the news. But what do you think, is it okay to just ignore the news or should everyone know what's going on in the world?
  21. Weird thread I know, but there are SOME out there who like to dive in to the history, graphics and whatnot in newscasts. While I have stopped watching mainstream news, I still have a few news themes I like. Post whichever ones you like, whether it's national, local or reigonal news. I like these, because of the catchiness and whatnot. This Is Your News (KXTV Version) by Gari Music: Right Here, Right Now v.1 by 615 Music: Icon (KTVU Version) by 615 Music:
  22. So with Hurricane Matthew looming on the horizon, now would be a good time to talk about storms. Anyone interested or even fascinated by severe weather? Does it ever get your attention more when it's on the news somewhere? Does seeing how storms form & strengthen pique your curiosity? Do you just like documentaries, shows and movies about natural disasters? How about hypothetical scenarios? Things like what would happen if a hurricane hit New York City or if a tornado ran though Washington DC? If those are things that interest you, than feel free to share them here. Also please do share any crazy weather happening in your area.
  23. My cousin suggested that I post this poll somewhere for fun, so here it is.
  24. I'm glad my fellow British brothers and sisters have left the EU. But I would like to know what are your thoughts, I know there is a couple british bronies on this website. No heated arguements please.
  25. ESPN report: http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/15939933/muhammad-ali-dies-74 Muhammad Ali is widely considered to be the greatest boxer of all-time. But what made him so great is not only did he brag about his greatness. He proved it both in and out of the ring. When he was drafted into the Vietnam War, he refused to participate, citing his Islamic beliefs. His courage against the Vietnam War nearly cost him his career, but the Supreme Court overturned his felony conviction with an 8-0 ruling. (Thurgood Marshall didn't participate for taking part in an earlier ruling.) He became the symbol of both boxing and the anti-war counterculture during the 1960s and 70s. Ali helped paved way to introducing a wave of black athletes into sports, where this wave is seen today in sports like football and basketball. When he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, he became an activists to spread word of the disease. His signature moment while battling it was in 1996 when he lit the torch to open the summer Olympics in Atlanta. Ali can be paired down into his rhyme: He proved to be the Greatest. And he'll forever be the Greatest. RIP, Ali.
