Yep. A day late again. I can explain, though. Hang in there, my crowd.
Basically things have slowed down enough that I have begun working on the model kit I got for Christmas. Which is why this update was late; the model kit has been taking up my free-time. It's finally warm enough that paints and glues will dry faster. Though to be honest, there have been set backs. I don't have all the paints and chemicals I do have. I figured out some ways to speed the process along, but it feels like one-step forward and two-steps back. If I had figured out that I'd need more supplies, my Saturday would have gone differently...
Speaking of Saturday, I had a really good day! I did some shopping and got myself a new pair of work shoes. I ate at one of my favorite places. Came home to find Celestia was following me! There were also some strange things that happened, but I wasn't going to let any of that ruin the good day I had.
I'm on pins and needles because of all the rumors coming out of CinemaCon, which I didn't even know was a thing! There are trailers that I wish would come out all ready. Until then, I saw the trailers for the new Super Monkey Ball game and the sequel to the Joker movie. The later is the one I'm actually excited about.
So after much thinking about it, I've decided... I'm going to watch at least 2 more episodes of BoonBoomger, give or take. I want to see the premiere of the 5th BoonBoomger member. Maybe get a sense of what this show will be like with its full cast at the very least. After that, I'll put BoonBoomger down and step away from Super Sentai for a while. I'll finish up Gotchard since it's almost done, and then step away from that. I might catch some tokusatsu movies I haven't seen yet, but only until I'm caught up on everything. I won't pick it back up until some personal things change in my life. But for now...!
BoonBoom 06: BoonBonding! He can blame it on the monster as much as he wants, but seeing BoonBlue going from disbelieving to male bonding was so awesome! Just like Pink, I was loving this turn around! And BoonRed just made a personal rivalry with the new commander! Where will this go, I wonder.
Gotchard 30: Losing Romeo. Well color me surprised when we got a DonBrothers Comedy Duo cameo! Probably the best thing about this episode. They made Gotchard look momentarily week so Rinne/Majade could have her character arc, and they took away Kaiji's love interest to make her Gotchard's love interest. Please don't do this... Can't the supporting character have a love interest? Does the main character ALWAYS have to attract all the female characters?
That's it for now, my crowd. Take care, and drive one more lap around the course.
Like I've said before, sometimes YouTube manages to recommend me something interesting. I'm not a country music fan in any stretch of the imagination. However, combining death metal and bluegrass? Color me interested. I know that this is just an arrangement made digitally, probably using MIDI files as a base or something, but am I the only one that thinks this has an oddly oriental sound to it? Would love to hear this done with real instruments. This is, "Deathgrass Symphony" by Appalachian Anarchy.

Hi there, my crowd! Nope, this is not a joke. I really am late again~ This time, blame it on a sudden increase of mod duties and a BUNCH of IRL stuff happening behind the scenes. When it rains, it pours.
So I guess the biggest thing to post is Easter Sunday! It's exactly as you might have guessed. Has a big lunch with my family, and a few extra sweets too. Incidentally, wearing my new red pants was perfect for the holiday. Also, I had Good Friday off, but it wasn't filled with free time...
The tough thing about the week was helping my mother. She hired someone to tear down her garage. I was afraid she might have gotten scammed when they did not show up on Thursday. However, they did arrive on Friday instead and tore it down; cleaned the debris too. They did not level the grounds like they said they would, but it was fine. Sunday, my uncle helped rake up the property and smooth it over at least. And now the two of us are working together to get a new shed for my mother, because I don't know if I can do this on my own. I don't want my mother stressing over any of this.
BoonBoom 04: No One Drives Alone. I am loving all the attention to details. The CGI race scene still feels unnecessary, but at least it explains how the Robo gets there instantly. I like how they aren't waving off the existence of the superheroes as something that no one notices, somehow. I am glad a government agency is getting involved with all this. They are openly acknowledging how awkward the helmet designs are. Even Boon Pink being the first to get arrested makes absolute sense. But the real charm is how none of this is done for comedic affect. It is played with sincerity while keeping the characters true to who they are. Humor is only injected in moments where it's not offensive or distracting. (And I am kind of hoping the ISA agent ends up being a major, reoccurring character in this series.~)
Gotchard 28: All Holofoil's Eve. Seriously, this would make for a GREAT Halloween episode! You know I love me some Japanese folklore; and yes that includes yokai. But I like how they are building up to a bigger story regarding this village. At least, for now I am.
That's it for now, my crowd. Take care, and there's no shame in asking for help.
What can I say? Every once in a while, I like a good meme song. Besides, it's been a hot minute since I've enjoyed a Spanish song, and this is gaining some international popularity as of lately. This is "Dubidubidu" by Christell.

Hi there, my crowd! Why is this weekly summary late? ... I forgot. Sorry!
Nothing major happened in the week we just finished, other than Daylight Savings. Curse this wretched tradition...
There were some trailers dropped, but nothing worth talking about too much. Somehow Megamind got a sequel and a TV show without me knowing about it. I heard it's terrible. But the biggest news was the unexpected passing of Akira Toriyama. I won't echo my thoughts more than I've stated before. We all know his legacy is immortal. Still, I hope Japan does something amazing to honor him.
BoonBoom 01: We're All Cranked-Up & Ready To Go! Well, this was definitely a mixed salad of sorts! Based on the heroes, I get the feeling that this show may be story driven. Some comedy, sure, but it won't be enough to cripple or hold back the main storyline. If that's true, then it's spiritually similar to TurboRanger without directly copying. The monsters definitely have the same energy as the ones from CarRanger. The giant fight had the same energy as Go-Onger. Furthermore, I am surprised how they managed to fit so much into the first episode! This how you make 23 minutes feel like an hour. But before I get too attached, I need to see at least one more episode...
BoonBoom 02: Take a Rad Right. There's not much more to say than what I did last time. This episode simply explores what the BoonBoomgers do as civilians and what kind of status quo we can expect from the show. No time for story, so it's really hard to say how much more we should expect. They really just go full-speed ahead with the story; you either keep up or get left behind. For now, I will say thank you to the fansubs for calling them Boon Red/Blue/Pink instead of going for all the different romanizations of “Buun”. And while I have seen this combination before, I am glad that BoonBoomger is cementing the idea of Red, Blue, and Pink as the main three rather than Red, Blue, and Yellow like we've seen a million times. Lastly, I am glad the show is taking its time introducing the other two rangers. Sure, the ED theme kind of gives it away, but the fact they are taking their time makes me feel like there is plenty to stick around for.
Gotchard 24: Remember to Forget! Yep. Mark this one as a bad episode. It commits the sin of the “How We Got Here” trope. Showing us a glimpse of the third act did NOTHING to enhance the experience other than give us spoilers; therefore it's a sin. When we get to the third act that was teased at the beginning, it just becomes a cliffhanger, therefore our reward for going through this episode was practically nothing. Another sin of storytelling. Worst of all, it's a clipshow. Now I normally say a clipshow is fine if you also throw in some new lore or story information, anything that makes the plot feel like it's still progressing forward. They ALMOST did that! They almost explained something about their professor-turned-traitor. But the story intervened before that could happen, so we got NOTHING! They dangled a plot thread over us for nothing. They're saving all the good stuff for the next episode. Another sin. Strike three. You're out!
Gotchard 25: Steamy Results! Part of me expected them to use the Warptera card to warp over to the Academy and take their cards back. Did not happen, but okay. However, I did not expect Rinne's father to just reappear! Kind of random and anticlimactic. Hope there is a story to explore there. We almost got the professor back, but that didn't happen either. Gotta say, I don't mean to bash anyone's mental trauma, but the professor is kind of an idiot if he really has internalized the death of his classmate and blamed himself. It clearly wasn't his fault, it was Geryon. I was kind of expecting more out of this reveal. The show made it look like Geryon tried to gaslight the professor into that internalized blame, but the execution was weak. They really should have played up the manipulation element. Perhaps if we hadn't wasted time on a flashback episode, there would have been more time to flesh that backstory out.
That's it for now, my crowd. Take care, and rev up.
Yeah, don't focus too much on the lyrics for this one, just focus on the vibe. I swear, they might have meant to, but the melody sounds so oriental. Am I the only one that hears it? Do you? Not to be connect to the old movie with the same name, this is "Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)" by Mike + The Mechanics.

I have to read a book, my crowd. Let's get into it,
Nothing super major happened this week. Everything is just on hold again. If anything, I am too busy getting quotes so I can help my mother get her old garage demo'ed.
There was a new Digital Circus announcement trailer that was pretty funny. And I'm not sure how I forgot about this, but on Valentines Day, it was announced that Kamen Rider GEATS would be getting an official, physical release! Pre-orders are all ready online. If I wasn't busy budgeting for other things, I would SO pre-order it now. However, it's not even going to come out with a movie attached, it's just the series only. So I think I can wait this time. Happy for this victory, never would have predicted it, but I can wait.
NO KING-OHGER THIS WEEK. I am holding off to marathon the final two episodes back-to-back. Hopefully that will give the fansub groups time to decide if they'll be subbing BoonBoomger or not.
Gotchard 23: Valentines Pain. Yep, I predicted it. The Chemie was not evil, just misguided. The most surprising thing that came out of this was the last-minute b-plot; a really nice self-love/self-empowerment moment. And I suppose it was great to see Majade get a new super form as well; I hope that keeps happening. But other then that, this episode was very predictable. ...You know, if Chemies can have sentient human forms, this would have become a major plot point in a very different Rider series. I could easily see Zukyumpire as a Chemie that becomes a Kamen Rider, in a similar vein to Chalice from Blade, except with a friendlier disposition. Instead, I am almost certain this might be the last time we see his human form.
That's it for now, my crowd. Take care, and get started.
Better late than never. Here's one for my citypop collection. This is "Mayonaka No Door/Stay With Me" by Miki Matsubara.

What a nice song and interesting text. Thank you for providing this.
I can only recommend to read books. It is so relaxing to read.
Sadly, I have very rarely time to go the royal library and just read for relaxation.
Sadly, I need to go now to oversee the planning for a royal banquet .
Have a nice day

Princess Celestia, your greatness! Thank you for blessing my humble status update. (Bows down to the ground) If that is your order, then I shall read more books. Take care, solar princess.
My advice would be not to go in with high hopes. Let the show speak for itself. I didn't care for it the first time I watched, but upon rewatching, it got better.
Also, thank for posting! It's always good to see you again.

I want to make a lemon pie and have some BBQ ribs... Hello, my crowd!
The biggest thing that happened this week is that my family is finally beginning to settle some legal issues related to the inheritance that my grandparents left behind. It has been a WAY too complicated issue, but I am glad the finish line is finally in sight.
But there was some good things this week! First of all, I splurged and spent WAY too much on clothes~! I hate that I gave into the pressure, but at least I got red pants out of it. I have been needing a pair of those for a long time.
But OH MY GOSH, the trailers!! Apparently there is going to be a Moana 2. Hope it's better than the live action one that may or may not happen. Not really a trailer, but it was announced that KakuRanger is getting a 30th Anniversary movie. There's going to be a new TMNT based on the recent CGI movie that came out. Hope the 2D cartoon style is good. I swear, after watching the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, Marvel and Disney NEED this right now. If their main projects don't connect, they can take a step back and try something different in Deadpool to see if it works. And the biggest news... THE KNUCKLES SERIES TRAILER DROP!!! Let's go~! My boi is finally getting his moment!
MOTU Revolution: And Crown Thy Golden King! Yep, had to see it. ... AND I AM SO GLAD I DID!! That was rock-em-sock-em solid! Easily a vast improvement over the previous season. He-Man was given way more chances to shine. The romantic conclusion between him and Teela was perfect. The nods to He-Man lore, the deep-cut character cameos, the casting the well-earned conclusion... It was all so IMMENSELY perfect~! No one felt like they were being side-lined or being portrayed immensely out of character. But that ending though... I REALLY hope someone at Netflix can make the arrangements to get us Adora/She-Ra because that ending was the PERFECT foreshadowing! Even if they have to give the next season another name, I really want this to do well now. It may have had a bad start with Revelation, but they really picked up the ball with this. So satisfied! So glad I avoided all the negative videos out that.
NO TOKUSATSU THIS WEEK! Watching MOTU took up all my free time. But I will hop back into it next week.
That's it for now, my crowd. Take care, and raise your sword.
...Eh, got no other songs to share, so let's just go for pony music. This is "Wings (Synthwave)" by Skyshard.

The biggest thing that happened this week is that my family is finally beginning to settle some legal issues related to the inheritance that my grandparents left behind. It has been a WAY too complicated issue, but I am glad the finish line is finally in sight.
I need to get a memory card for my Nintendo Switch... I tried to play the newest video game I got for Christmas, and I am all ready out of internal storage.
King-Ohger 45: Fire & Ice Hearts! I love this episode. It's not every day you see a non-Red ranger with fire powers. But the real strength of this episode was the plot. We learn so much more about Rita/Purple and Kaguragi/Black. We learn to appreciate their successors on a new, personal level. But more importantly, we learn how Purple and Black are so similar. That's the thing about a well written story; you don't notice these things until it's spelled out for you. Maybe I am a fool, maybe others picked up on this sooner than me, but I like how they realized their similarities in time to learn that their royal powers balance each other out.
Faiz MC 01: Wet Sand. Looks like the people at Toei decided to make a little prelude to go with the Faiz 20th movie. This is just case 1, but I like the set. I am not sure if they managed to get the same set as the original laundry mat or if this is just a reasonable facsimile, but it's absolutely perfect! We've got new characters accompanying the old, and a certain rival is alive again? For now, let's just see where this is going.
Gotchard 19: Bow Your Heads For This! To start, let me just address the negatives. I hate when the OP sequence reveals Riders that haven't premiered yet. Likewise, I hate that this episode relies on movie-events that the regular audience might not have seen yet. Well it seems that is the very reason why we see new Riders in the OP, because they appeared in the movie. Rinne even became a Rider for a short while. Beyond that, I loved the later half of this episode! We got to see the TV premiere of Kamen Rider Majade (Celestia would be so proud~), but I was NOT ready for Gotchard Fire AppareSkebow! The beginning of the episode started off wacky, but they explained it with lore, making it easier to appreciate. All in all, a strong finish for a strong start.
...Anyone care to watch a movie?
That's it for now, my crowd. Take care, and stick to the plan.
I sincerely thought YouTube was doing something good by suggesting me a new rock band with a sound that I actually like! Turns out, this band is not new. They've been around a while! But if this is the kind of material I should expect, then you know I want to listen to more. This is "Nobody Escapes" by Mother Mother.

My internal sense of scheduling is way off, my crowd. I completely forgot to post yesterday and Sunday. ...You may punish me however you want. But first, let's review the previous week, shall we?
I can't say I have much excuse for my preoccupation. For the most part, I've been free here and there. However, I've also been trying to fit in as much fun activities as I can. I have a lot of Christmas gifts to enjoy and a lot of changes it prepare for behind the scenes. Although...
MOVIE TIME! I recently saw GODZILLA MINUS ONE. I was lucky enough to see this in theaters while I still could, and because of that, I won't go into spoilers. All I will say is Japan proves once again that they are truly the masters of making a good Godzilla movie. You almost forget why it's called Minus One unless you remember a certain line in the trailers, but that doesn't change the fact that this is a cinematic masterpiece. Never have I seen a Japanese movie put forth this level of production and polish. The recreation of a post WWII Japan is next level. The acting is superb. The story is heart-wrenching. I was happy with Shin Godzilla, but that was nothing compared to this. It was so good, there were only one or two momentary shots where I was aware that Goji is CGI. He really is THAT realistic-looking. A dub was not made for this, but I'm okay with that. Since this is a period-piece, it makes seeing it in Japanese a little more authentic. If they ever do make an English Dub for the home release or streaming, I'll be happy to rewatch just for that. Still, this movie is a masterpiece in any language.
Sonic Prime Season 3: What You've All Been Running For! This season is the grand finale, and it's wonderful. Now it might not be the conclusion you necessarily want. We don't get to show the full range of Chaos Emerald powers (including Super forms), a number of Sonic characters are missing, and this season stagnates on one location for the majority of the run. However, there are so many good things about it. I didn't think I'd say this, but it's great that we get see a more vulnerable side to Sonic, at least as vulnerable as Sega will allow. There are character moments a plenty. The way Sonic finally breaks through to Nine is not how I would have written it, but they at least hinted at how they would settle things. I doubt there will be more after this, but I would be open to more. I want to see if the other realities still exist. I want to see if we'd get more Sonic characters. I want to see if we return to a regular Sonic story. But I am more than happy for this to be the conclusion. It just fits.
And now, my thoughts on Sonic Prime in its entirety... What good this show does overshadows the negative. Like I said, we won't see super forms here. Silver, Blaze, Chaotix, and many more are missing. The expansive world of Sonic is missing. At one point, it was rumored that Prime Sonic might meet other iterations of Sonic (SatAM Sonic, X Sonic, Underground Sonic, etc.), but they never went there. Possibly for legal reasons. However, we get so much more out of this show. We get a Sonic that goes on a journey of real self-discovery. We get amazing character moments from Shadow. We get a story that could fit in with any canon Sonic event (and yes, this story was WAY better than Forces). And while some may call the ending a cliffhanger, I call it a return to normality for the main characters. I am more than willing to accept more seasons, but as far as I can tell, this is it. ...The only thing I was left to wonder about was, do these characters EVER get tired?!
Sadly, it has begun... Those in the anime world will know that there has been rumors of people using AI to translate manga for quicker, faster translations and for the purpose of hiring less people. It's something we should all be afraid of because, without a human to quality-control the translation, we are doomed to any kind of mistranslations or completely made-up non-translations. Well it has happened to tokusatsu. I am happy Garo: Heir to Steel Armor has released it's first episode on YouTube. However, I cannot recommend it to anyone. The translation is AI generated. Other translators have confirmed it is rough and not completely accurate. The only way I could possibly watch this is with the help of a fansub group cleaning up the translation, if not starting over from scratch. I hate that this is the world we live in and how it is affecting the progress tokusatsu has made internationally after all these years. I can only hope that we as consumers will rise up enough to make companies realize that we don't want this.
King-Ohger 43: Evil Gods & Crazy Kings! All right, I'll admit, this episode really justified itself. I wasn't sure if I wanted Racles to continue being around, but we got plenty of it. We got to see how the Hastee family ended up where it is. We got to see how Gira became an orphan. We got to see the previous King's final, inspiring battle. And for Gira's sake, I am glad he got his wish, to finally reach and connect with the brother he always knew from childhood. However, Dugded is back. Seems he can reincarnate. Just how crafty is an all-seeing god? Is it true that no secrets said out loud get past him? Can he find a way to cheat that immortal-slaying power the King-Ohgers have now? We shall see.
Gotchard 17: Mix Before Curing.? I am happy to have movies that are canon to the shows, but this is exactly what I was afraid of. The show referenced the events of the crossover movie with Geats, as such, it feels like we are missing out on a huge chunk of story. It's not out yet, so it has no translation. This makes it a little harder to follow along to the point where you almost forget about the episode's plot. For now, it seems the Sisters are up to their old tricks. It's Dread round 2 with a new mind controlled victim. And while the show is trying to make the new orange Gotchard seem ominous, I can't help but see him as nothing short of helpful. More please!
That's it for now, my crowd. Take care, and stick to the plan.

Once more, blame the holiday for this being late, my crowd! Though does it count if I was late on purpose?
Just like last time, I delayed this post on purpose because I wanted to celebrate the holiday! On New Years Eve, I did all the normal stuff. Watched the ball drop, played Auld Lang Syne, and had myself a drink. In place of white grape juice or ginger ale, I had a lot of leftover holiday cider from Christmas. Since that all ready had some ginger ale in it (with real ginger), I just had more of that. And on New Years Day, I got together with my family for a traditional New Years meal. Black eyed peas (yuck), beef, coleslaw, and some other foods as well. Might not be super spectacular, but it was fun!
Speaking of fun... I wish I could say I had more of it in the week between Christmas and New Years, but I did not. I did squeeze in as much fun as I could, but sadly there was a lot of work to do. Cleaning, preparing to go back to work, putting decorations away, etc. I haven't played with any of the video games I got for Christmas, but I will. I haven't started assembling my model kit yet, but I shall as soon as I get some paint. Still plan to do some more personal stuff for myself, but it hasn't been a pay week for me yet.
Speaking of games, I have an update. In case you missed the edit from last time, Steve Jobs actually got me a USB microphone/headset combo. The corkboard was for something else. Also, @Totally Lyra got me a video game! I may need a little help getting started on it, but I know I am in good hands. My friends are the friendliest friends~
Unfortunately because the final week of my vacation was so busy, I just didn't have time to watch any more Christmas movies. However, I did re-watch some loose Dickens adaptations that I've seen before. So to name them off quickly and in chronological order... The Jetsons S02E41 “A Jetson's Christmas Carol”: Looking back, I am surprised how many continuity errors this had. I guess people my age and younger were easily entertained. It's the only thing keeping this from being a phenomenal yet loose adaptation. "Bah, Humduck! A Looney Tunes Christmas": It's a better example of a loose adaptation, but the special spent so much time on the set-up. By the time we got to the ghosts and the main part of the actual adaptation, it didn't get as much time as it should have. Still cute though. MLP:FIM S06E08 “A Hearth's Warming Tail”: Still holds up after all this time. It's a loose adaptation that manages to make it mesh better with its pony material, and justifies it's storyteller beginning and ending.
King-Ohger The Movie: His Majesty's Reign. When the movie began, it really felt like a nice companion piece. It was an event taking place just before Gira was crowned as king, which happened off-screen anyways. It even foreshadowed something in just the right, subtle way. We also got an AMAZING battle scene out of it. However by the end of the movie, they were dropping some major spoilers for the show. Well, not too major for me since I predicted them. However, if you are a younger fan who might not be able make such predictions, this movie might ruin the surprise of things to come. But as an overall positive, I see no reason not to count this movie as anything less than canon.
King-Ohger 41: The Atrocities of Justice. I'm not ready... I'm not ready for Racles' redemption arc. As soon as he gained the power to kill an immortal, which apparently Gira/Red and Dugded are, I saw the turn around coming. Gira has been playing everyone for fools; making him the biggest liar in the series. No wonder he and Debowski/Black have a special connection. And yet, I am still not ready. I'll need to re-contextualize everything leading up to it. I hope the series does that for us, because this is huge.
Gotchard 15: To Feel Again? In one episode, they summarize a trope that happens with many villains. They claim to not feel any kind of human emotions, but they are really just pushing those feelings aside and covering them up with malevolence. Other then that, the crux of 2-parters like this is that the 2nd episode relies mostly on action, and it depends on who you are if you like that or not. The twists were okay, but it wasn't quite as heavy or brutal as that one fight a few episodes ago. I am hoping that the little things they set up at the end will change how the next episodes go. I fear we are in a new status quo; Gotchard helps someone and gets a new Level 10 Chemie, and we don't get to fully see it in action until the next part.
And now it's time take a look back...
REFLECTING ON 2023
I'm going to TRY and keep it personal instead of focusing too much on other things that happened in the world of pop culture and so on. That being said, here's the positives:
- Perhaps one of the biggest things is I have become a Moderator at MLPForums.com! And unlike other times where I've use to be the moderator of a group, I don't feel like they're going to kick me out randomly or replace me for someone potentially less capable. And about the time I became a mod, others became a mod with me. So it really does feel like I've stepped into a big family.
- I made a big leap and upgraded to Windows 11, and thank goodness it worked out!
- I got to experience the wonders of an Air Fryer, and my life will never be the same~
- I got a Google Chromecast. And while it turns out I didn't need it after all, better to have it and not need it. You never know what may happen in the future.
- There were some pretty huge things that happened in Tokusatsu, besides the yearly shows stepping down for the new ones. AbaRanger and Hurricaneger got new anniversary movies. Kamen Rider Black and Black RX got western releases. Shin Kamen Rider got a very limited run in American theaters before popping onto Amazon Prime. It was also the year I learned Agito has a strange but serviceable English dub. I am not sure if this counts, but Netflix has dropped live action adaptations of both One Piece and Yu Yu Hakusho, and apparently they are giving people hope that such adaptations can be done right after all. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers got one last hoorah by the name of "Once & Always". Godzilla Minus One has been taking the world by storm! And finally at the last moment, Sharivan was announced for an American release by Discotek Media.
- Speaking of Discotek, I sure am glad I discovered them. They released the Japanese version of Sonic X! And they have been releasing other amazing titles too. I really want to start buying up parts of their library, because they really are unsung heroes of the industry.
- Speaking of Sonic, this has been a good year for the blue speedster. I got to play Sonic Frontiers in time for the Final Chapter to be dropped. I got to watch Sonic Prime season 1 and 2. I got Sonic Superstars for Christmas, and I will be downloading Sonic Dream Team soon. So much Sonic stuff do, so little time~! I'm not fast enough!
- This was also the year of a few unexpected things. My Adventures With Superman not only put the boy in blue in a wholesome light but reminded people everywhere why the fans love Supes. The very last Beatles song ever was dropped. The long awaited and meme'd Super Mario Bros. Movie came out, and it was glorious! And after being in development-heck for what felt like forever, the Five Nights at Freddy's movie dropped, and you know it was a huge hit. Finally, we finally got to see the new doctor for Doctor Who. Here's hoping he's better than the last.
- Some of the stuff I just mentioned is bittersweet. Kind of like the Writer's Strike that happened in 2023. But for the most part, it is over. Projects that were delayed are back on track. Finished projects that thought to have been shelved are being saved and released after all. I hope it'll only continue to get better.
But things don't stay wonderful all the time. Here are the negatives that brought the year down a little for me:
- Top of the list would have to be my declining health. This is worth a few bullet points, at least. It started with lingering back pains and other pains, not to mention the tooth I chipped; but around my 39th birthday, I discovered I now have a mild arthritis. My joints have never been so snappy before. It doesn't stop me from being active or anything, but I have to live with this now. I have to take medicine for it now. And as the years go by, these conditions might get worse. Would be nice if they got better first, though. Same for my uncles and mother. They've been having medical issues, but I hope they get those settled pretty soon.
- My late grandparents' house was put on the market, and new occupants have moved in. Can't say I like them. They are very anti-social. They aren't very good at maintaining a lawn. They built fences where none needed to be. Obviously it's out of our hands; they can live however they want. Still, I wish someone nicer had moved in there.
- Speaking of death, we lost plenty of people along the way. From celebrities like Tony Bennett, Bob Barker, and Paul Reubens, to two bronies that I knew (Jeric and Strongwilled), and possibly more.
- In the world of Tokusatsu, we lost the online distributor Generation Kikaida. They have lost the rights to distribute Kikaida, Kamen Rider V3, Inazuman, and other such titles. We've been hoping that someone, ANYONE will pick up the rights and make it easier to acquire a copy or bring it to streaming. However so far, no one has done that yet.
- Since we're covering pop culture anyways... MLP G5 is basically over, and from what little I can tell, the finale was polarizing at best, disappointing at worst. I'm not sure. I stepped away from G5. I really hope Hasbro has learned their lesson and will make G6 even better. Vintage Mickey Mouse is public domain now. Charles Martinet has stepped down as the voice of Mario and other characters. The Tiny Toons reboot was not faithful to the original show, but ultimately the fandom had dismissed it and moved on.
There were more good things than bad, a little touch of bittersweet too, but some of the bad stuff should not be understated. My feelings are a little mixed, but I want to believe 2023 was overall more good than bad.
And we can't end this without saying...
MY 2024 NEW YEARS RESOLUTION!
- I am going to go against the grain this time. I usually only give resolutions that are pretty easy to complete. This year... I want to get a new job. I like my current one and might try to keep it, but I want to get another one that pays better. As a back-up resolution, I want to get a driver's license. I've gone this long without one, but it's time to finally get one. I might have an easier time getting this license, but I still want my focus to be on job hunting. With concentrated effort, I am sure I can get it done!
That's it for now, my crowd. Take care, and let's welcome the future together.
I just can't stop listening to this track. It may be eurobeat, but it's so fire. And how can I not when the music video is so fun? This is "Flash Into The Night" by Dave Rodgers ft. Motsu.

Hi, my friend!
On the Christmas Carol theme: did you know there are two Looney Tunes adaptations of it? Before "Bah, Humduck", there was "Bugs Bunny's Christmas Carol". It's much shorter, but I think Yosemite Sam was a better fit for the Scrooge role (and Friz Freleng and Mel Blanc were still involved). I recommend the entire Looney Christmas Tales special, though the Christmas Carol story only takes a third of it.
I hope your year is an amazing one!
-
Hi there, Taco! So good to see you again, my friend.
Actually, I found out about Bugs Bunny's Christmas Carol just as I was writing this update. I save it for next year. Somehow I missed it when I was growing up. Still, thanks for asking! I am always glad to see someone taking interest in these updates that I write.
Same to you, my friend. Always.

And late again... But I have my reasons this time, my crowd! Definitely without reason.
First thing to report is that one of my uncle's had a birthday, and my family got together to celebrate it. It was a little early, but we wouldn't get another chance to celebrate it. My mother made key lime pie. It's the new gold standard for that kind of pie. The flavor was INTENSE!
As for why this post is late... During the weekend, I also did a LOT of shopping. I was helping my mother with hers, and I did some of my own. We both agreed that we can't be doing this anymore. We need to either be starting earlier or we need to start doing online shopping instead. There's just so many stores around town, and things get so busy. Case in point, by the time things wound down Sunday night, I missed my chance to post my weekly summaries. ... And now I gotta find time to wrap presents!
More trailers. I didn't care at first, but I have friends that have shown me Kung-Fu Panda, now I'm kind of eager to see the 4th movie. Also, One Piece reanimating it's first season(s)? I have so many mixed feelings about this. Will it be better? Will it be worse? Will it basically be the BDZ Kai version of One Piece? We'll have to wait and see.
Gotchard 14: Rough Rex. I hate when episodes do stuff like this. I hate when they build up to the epic battle, only to leave it as a cliff hanger before actually seeing it. I hate it because doing that can either go good or, if you're not careful, bad. I hate that Spanner just knows where the Sisters were. How exactly did he find them? And why didn't he tell anyone before charging in and attacking? Oh well. Rex looks cool; gave me ReVice flashbacks. And is it just me, or did Ichinose/Gotchard's actor get a glow up or something? I swear, at the beginning, he looked like he could be in a pop bad or something.
King-Ohger 40: Know Your Providence. Of all the things I expected, Gira/the Red Ohger being related to the Galactinsects was not it. As I watched this unfold, I couldn't help but think that this had to be wrong. Some kind of bluff or big lie. But even as the story revealed that this is true and that the clues were always there, I wanted to believe that Gira still had a will of his own and chose his own path. Then they took that from him and forced him to act like a villain. And the way the show brings it back around, by having the previously scared Shugods take a stand against their oppressors for the first time, was absolutely perfect. This is how you do a cliffhanger.
[ 1 / 2 ] MOVIE TIME! I recently saw Jacqui & David Morris's A Christmas Carol (2020). Holy Frankenstein's monster in the snow, Batman! This movie was a combination of many things. It's one part ballet, one part theater production, one part trippy visuals, and one part meta. It starts with kids wanting a Christmas fairy tale, thus leading a grandmother to recount the Dickens tale. From there, everything goes wild. This is easily what happens when a theater play becomes a movie but they never wanted to forget their theater origins. You will remember it just for the striking visuals alone. This movie is basically to Dickens what Fantasia is to classical music, except it's all done with live action performers. And to think the only reason I clicked on this was because they used the wrong thumbnail. I was looking for an animated version of A Christmas Carol with talking animals. Oh but don't worry, I'm reviewing that one next. This one is still amazing and worth your time if the imaginative concept intrigues you.
[ 2 / 2 ] I also saw A Christmas Carol: Scrooge's Ghostly Tale (2006). Woooooow, this movie is terrible. Please spare yourself. My curiosity was not rewarded in kind. There have been times where I wondered how you could do A Christmas Carol without religious themes, or how you could do it without death being a major element of the theme, etc. This adaptation does ALL of that, and the result is that the production becomes hollow and soulless. There is inconsistencies. (I suppose the death of old adults is fine, but the implied death of a child is just too much for a children's movie.) There are dialogue-heavy moments that beat you over the head with characters explaining the obvious, or even breaking the fourth wall for no reason. It's a musical with only two, VERY generic songs. One of which was so bad, they committed the cardinal sin and cut away from it to focus on two side characters. And the CGI animation is just bad; would actually be good in 1999 if they could actually frame the shots a little better. The only good things about this movie are some of animal choices, seeing Marley spared his fate by helping Scrooge, and the epilogue of Scrooge's life. Even so, skip this movie. I have no idea who it's for or why the poster was used to advertise a better adaptation. There's just something so wrong about a version that doesn't end with “God bless us, everyone.”
That's all for now, my crowd. Take care, and feel the falling snow.
This is another request from @Evil Pink One. Really, it's more of a meme song, for Tiktok I believe. I don't usually expect to be serenaded to a song about a soda, but here we are! And it's definitely worth the laughs it gets. Someone please make this a commercial all ready. This is "micola original taste".

Could it be? I actually posted on time?! Let's talk, my crowd.
This week, not much happened. My mother got sick, and I am struggling to think of some good gift ideas. I have found the generic gifts should not be something to avoid. Depending on who you are giving a gift to, generic gifts might actually be completely welcomed! However, even with open-minded people, there seems to be a sweet spot between personal and too generic. It's stuff that's generic yet charming. If there is no personality to what you gave, it'll come off as if you didn't put any effort into it at all. Like getting a solid color t-shirt with no graphic or anything special about it at all. Even I'd appreciate that, but you have to admit, there's really no thought necessary behind a gift like that.
Saw a trailer, at least. Godzilla x Kong shows us a team-up we never expected. Also, Goji got a kid once, now it's Kong's turn. There are SO many other things I would love to talk about. Announcements and spoilers that I am just dying to share. However, I always save my thoughts until we have a trailer at least. But hopefully, more trailers are on their way!
Gotchard 12: Unravel Everything! I didn't think Gotchard had it in them, but here we are. It feels like this is the real reason Gotchard was taking its time, for this moment right here. The spy helping the sisters gets rewarded with a rather quick death. Sabi is forced to turn into an evil Kamen Rider and fight against his own will. However, the biggest, jaw-dropping thing about this episode is the savage beating that Gotchard gets. It's been a long time since we've seen something that merciless. Even the aftermath shakes our heroes to the core. Speaking of aftermath, Spanner need to shut his no-good trap. He has no right to lecture everyone else. He didn't exactly score a victory either. If anything, Gotchard fought way harder than he did. And I thought Spanner was suppose to be an alchemy prodigy. But I must say, props for how the fight ended. They could have easily just given Gotchard a new form there, but no, they are going to make us earn it. Either way, the happy-go-lucky show that we THOUGHT we were watching has just unraveled before out eyes.
Gotchard VS Legend 02: Treasure To Stay Buried. The only good thing I can say is that I don't hate this gold Rider, and I was expecting to. I was expecting him to be secretly evil, but that doesn't seem to have happened. ... For now. In fact, that's all I can say about this 2-part special. It ends here, for now. Ultimately, it was an unnecessary waste of time. I do wonder if we'll see Legend again. I wonder if it was necessary this soon into the Reiwa era to reinvent Decade/Zi-O. I wonder if there is a deeper story yet to unfold from all this. I wonder if Gotchard even remembers his time with Legend. For now, if anyone is interested, I can easily say that this special is easily skipped. And the only reason why Gotchard isn't "gorgeous" yet is because his story hasn't fully been told yet; which is the only advantage his predecessors have.
King-Ohger 38: No Justice In Shame? I just feel bad for the Purple Ohger in this episode. She's trying to do a simple undercover operation, and all her idiot friends keep injecting their own narrative based on (most likely) falsified clues. Even her most trusted second didn't fully figure it out, which is a shame, because I was really hoping that she would understand at least. Still, we got to see her without the mask and we got to see her full range of acting on display here, and it was all glorious. However, since there was no splash screen at the end, I can't tell if she has fully reclaimed her kingdom or not. It feels like it has, but a new mystery has appeared.
That's all for now, my crowd. Take care, and limber up.
This was released earlier in late November. I've held off for now, but it's December, which means it's finally time to listen and share! That's right, the creator of The Duck Song is back at it again after all this this. This is "The Christmas Duck Song" by Bryant Oden (forrestfire101).

Hi there again, my crowd~! A day late again? This time, I have a reason! Preparing for the holidays. But there is good news too~! Read and find out.
So the biggest things that happened this past week were, a surgery and a robbery. My other lawn mower was stolen, and I still hadn't gotten over the first one being stolen. I knew it was a matter of time, but I am still bummed. As for the surgery, it was for my uncle, and he seems to be fine. He's bouncing back, no problems. I really just need to get storage shed. There's no two-ways about it.
I am late posting this update because I was preparing for Thanksgiving. Buying food and getting some things ready. Ran out of time on Sunday night to post this. But the good news is that I now have the rest of the week off! And I'll be enjoying it to the max while also making some food for the big Thanksgiving feast with my family.
Time for more trailers! WB is saving and releasing previously scrapped projects. One of which is an animated Steve Urkel movie, about saving Christmas no less. Random and a little dated, but sure! Why not. Speaking of Christmas, Batman fans are going to be tested with Merry Little Batman. Not really for me, but maybe some fans will have enough of a sense of humor to like it. I might even enjoy it more than Lego Batman. Not sure if I mentioned it before, but there will be a sequel to Chicken Run. And finally, a Robot Chicken-style series called Pokemon Concierge was not on my bingo card, and I still have no idea if I should be thrilled or not. I am hoping that this will be an uncut/dual audio release.
DonBros VS DonBuris: Humor Is Served. Well, this definitely isn't a crossover movie, though there is a surprise cameo from another Zenkaiger actor. This is just a random movie that takes place somewhere in the later half of the DonBrothers TV show. It's the show's signature style of random humor on full display, and there was even a moment that actually got me to laugh. Perhaps DonBros was never meant to be that serious. Maybe stuff like this is what it was always meant to be about. I suppose if you're a fan of the show, you'll enjoy this movie just as much. You won't gain any lore or anything from watching it, but if tokusatsu tie-in movies aren't suppose to be essential viewing, then this movie definitely fits that bill. Originally, I was going to avoid this movie. Now that I've watched it, I almost wish I did, because it made my hungry!
King-Ohger 36: You Can't Bury A Flower. It's good to see that the Yellow Ohger didn't instantly take her kingdom back after all; seemed too easy in the episode previews. I would have preferred if her teammates (besides Red) sensed that something wasn't right about her, maybe some kind of suspicion that she wasn't acting like the queen they know. It felt like they were going in that direction for a while. Still, I like how it wrapped up. The impostor was outsmarted, and one kingdom is fully liberated.
Gotchard 10: Mechanical Duet. ...I suppose I'm happy this episode wrapped everything up with a happy ending? However, I can't help but get the feeling that this episode could have been more tragically driven in some ways. Also, gotta be honest, not really caring much for all these new Chemie combinations. About the only thing I noticed was that Goldmechanichor has a bulkier base than Gotchard's stardard base body. Not the first time we've seen a Kamen Rider toy with a bulky build, so they must be selling well.
That's all for now, my crowd. Take care, and bring your appetites.
Gotta thank @Trot Shuffle for sharing this. It's been too long since I've heard a voice this soulful, let alone see anyone keeping old school genres alive with new material, yet here we are. My friend opened the door by showing me the artist, but I found this song on my own. This is "Promise" by Laufey.

Hello my friend :>
I don't bury flowers, I just adore them :>
Did you know that?
I suspect @Hugs SilkALot have never grown a single mars plant :0
Ah and here is your daily random fact of pony goodness :>
You are awesome and I'm sooo proud of you
-
Hi there, my cosmic friend.
"You Can't Bury A Flower." references the events of King-Ohger episode 36, where the villain tried to hide Himeno/Kamakiri Ohger, the Yellow Ohger, the queen of Ishibana. The villain, Kamejim, tried to impersonate her and take her kingdom. The thing about Himeno is that she values all things beautiful, but what Kamejim doesn't understand is that there is more to it then that. She is willing to earn it, to do the hard work to bring out the best of everyone and everything. She doesn't praise superficial or shallow beauty. So by trying to hide her away, Kamejim was basically trying to bury a flower. But flowers don't stay buried for long. They grow and rise back up to the surface.
Are you saying Hugsy lied about the Mars Bars?!
And here's a fact for you as well:
No, u!

Hi there again, my crowd~! I know this is late. I didn't forget. I just got so tired and preoccupied on Sunday that I had to retire early. Didn't have time to post this.
So the biggest thing about the week we just finished was... Halloween! Mine was simple. Had a slightly larger-than-responsible amount of candy. Did some spoopy fun things. My knee has been feeling strange, but hopefully that's an unrelated issue. I'll keep an eye on it. Either way, great holiday.
And then there's the dental update. I was able to get an appointment much sooner, however... They were able to smooth down the surface where my tooth chipped, but they strongly recommended putting a crown on it. I can't afford that, my crowd. I'll keep an eye on it for now, but this may be a thing where I just have to risk it for a while. Maybe my tooth might not chip any further after all. Maybe that initial chip will be enough to relieve the pressure/stress.
There were some good trailers this past week! Doctor Who is releasing more content lately. Probably a promotion deal as they move to Disney Plus. Godzilla has also been making a lot of bonus content too! They are making Kingdom of the Planet Apes. While I have not been a huge fan of this cinematic reboot; I am impressed with their dedication to remake all the titles. Good Burger 2 is getting closer to its theatrical release. This might be the beginning of another Trailers season.
King-Ohger 35: To Spite The Face... A very moving episode indeed. An episode where we finally see a little more of why the Blue Ohger has so much faith in his retainer. I hate that it came to this. I hate that he had to destroy the mother computer. I really wanted this to be a fake out ending where he had the advantage all along. In the end, he sacrificed technology to save his people. If he previously built something from nothing, he can do it again. Not much Racles action this time, but you never know what might happen.
Gotchard 09: Kamen Mazinger?! I've been a fan of Kamen Rider for years, and of all things I've come to expect, turning into a giant robot was not on my bingo card. Still, I wouldn't be against a live action giant mecha movie in this style. As for our hero, it looks like he is going to learn the hard way why you don't leave your hero equipment at home, ever.
That's all for now, my crowd. Take care, and remember where it all came from.
Speaking of things not being in my bingo card... I never could have predicted this. 2023, the year of the final Beatles song. There is a mini-documentary explaining how this came to be, which I highly recommend. Explains it better than I can. For now, this is the final chapter. The end of a legacy. This is "Now And Then".

Hello my friend
Halloween! I hope you enjoyed it!
Stay safe and take care. and try to reduce your sugar intake :>
random german fact of the day :>
The acronym "Haribo" means Hans Riegel Bonn, where Hans Riegel was the founder of the company and Bonn was the city where it was founded
Take care, my friend!

Thank you, my cosmic friend! I did enjoy it and I will take car of myself.
I think I knew that one. Haribo is good gummies.
Jamaica is divided into 3 counties and 14 parishes, each of which has its own capital town.

Hi there again, my crowd~! The reason this is a day late is because... I completely forgot. Sorry~! But let's go over the week we just finished.
I guess the biggest thing that happened was I went to car show with my uncle. ... I don't care about cars that much. He just wanted to do something for me for my birthday. Honestly, this felt more like a gift for himself than for me, but it's the thought that counts. Maybe the two of us will do something else later. Because right now...
On Sunday, my uncle had to rush to the emergency room. You see, he's been having some intestinal problems for a long time. He recently got some medicine to help him take care of it, including an antibiotic, but you're REALLY not suppose to mix those kind of drugs with alcohol! Please don't do it, my crowd! And don't let others do it either!! My uncle went to a party on Saturday where alcohol was provided. He couldn't say no, and he paid the price for it. He'll be fine, it just made him really sick. Speaking of sick...
I know there's never a "Good time" for it, but on Sunday evening, my tooth chipped. It is a tooth with a filling, but I don't think it's the filling that chipped. I think it's the tooth itself. I am fine right now, but I'll be scheduling an appointment soon. Still, having this happen in the early holiday season really sucks. And let's not forget the week started off bad. A lawn mower was stolen, a sifter broke, my uncle's health was compromised, and then this. What a terrible week.
No movies this week. Forgot. Sorry. Blame @Totally Lyra for getting me a video game that was so addictive, I hardly want to put it down!
NO KING-OHGER THIS WEEK! I thought this was just going to be a two-episode thing, but it turns out this is a 3 episode special. Regardless of how long this plays out for, I'll give my thoughts next week no matter what.
Gotchard 07: On Pins & Feathers? Ichinose/Gotchard is breaking regulation to befriend a kid. With the debut of his new form and everything in the side story, this episode was beginning to feel a little heavy. However, this is the most accurate gun play I've seen tokusatsu in a while, and the enemy isn't even using a gun. Furthermore, that is one heck a cliffhanger to end the episode on!
That's all for now, my crowd. Take care, and don't delay.
Every once in a while, within the world of music, I find another chapter of "Well that happened!". And once again, I have turned the page to find this rare performance between both Kiss and Garth Brooks. Yes, the country singer. Not the first time Kiss have performed with other people live, and I am aware that Garth is a little bit rock & roll, but that doesn't make this any less of a strange oddity. Here is Kiss and Garth Brooks performing the Kiss song "Hard Luck Woman" on The Tonight Show (1994).

Hi there again, my crowd~! Have you ever raised a beetle? Let's talk about the week that just passed.
Can't say much is happening on the personal front. My uncles are both getting ready to have something medical done, so there's that. Can't reveal all the future plans because... Spoilers.
The world is changing too. The writer's strike is mostly over. And then there is a war going on in the middle east. I won't talk about it, but if you know, you know. I just hope the situation is resolved fast.
[ 1 / 2 ] TOKUSATSU MOVIE TIME! I recently saw the Hurricaneger 20th Anniversary Movie! What a breath of fresh air! Granted, these anniversary movies all ready had a pretty low bar, but this was by far way better than the glorified clip show of the last anniversary movie they did for Hurricaneger. Essentially, this movie is about the ancestors of the Hurricangers, Gouraigers, and the clans they come from. In a sense, this movie can be played in either order. It can be used as a backdoor pilot to get new audiences interested in the show, or it can be watched as a reward for finishing the TV show first. And while this movie does have some narrative flaws, they are ultimately tiny and pointless compared to how well this movie was handled. Not to mention there are so many little and subtle details to enjoy; and thank goodness the new scientist character was not secretly the villain! Could it be that the people at Toei are finally understanding how to make a good anniversary movie?
HURRICANEGER 20TH SUPPLEMENTAL: I can only think of two reasons why some might not like tis movie. The first is that it's not focusing on the actual Hurricanegers and Gouraigers from the TV show. It's focusing mostly on their ancestors, even though said ancestors are being played by the same actors. Fine for new fans, but long-time fans might not want to focus on essentially new characters. The other reason is that Oedo Hurricane Red, which is not a super form like many thought, is actually a form-exclusive to Hurricane Red's ancestor. New of Hurricaneger might expect to see this form if they watch this movie first. Personally, I think it depends on what kind of fan you are. I'd rather see returning actors rather than see these actors recast for any reason, narrative or otherwise. And while the TV show may not have Oedo Hurricane Red, I think the show makes up for it by having a great and fun story. If anything my only gripe is that Hurricane Red is the only one who got an Oedo form. Would have been nice to see one for Blue and Yellow, maybe the Gouraigers too~! It's bad enough when Sentai becomes "The Red Ranger Show", but this was pretty blatant, and I actually LIKED the new form!
[ 2 / 2 ] TOKUSATSU MOVIE TIME! I also saw the AbaRanger 20th Anniversary Movie! ...On second thought, maybe Toei still has some room to grow. There are some things about this movie that I don't really care for. Things that hit a little too close to home with something that the western half of the world is going crazy with. Not the best thing to re-open AbaRanger with. However, that's just a small detail. When you get past it, you'll see there's still tons of on-brand AbaRanger goodness within this movie. The only difference between this and Hurri 20th is that this is clearly set in the future, so you can only enjoy it after the show is over. Furthermore, the new costume really is a new super from. And Super AbareMax is... It's fine. I can't say it's better than regular AbareMax, but in some ways it's better than the Dino Thunder Battlizer. Ultimately this movie is a mixed bag. Not the absolute worst. More good than bad. However, I wish they could have handled at least one detail different.
ABARANGER 20TH SUPPLEMENTAL: If you've been around social media, you may have heard about people being canceled and the culture around it. While I can't say that this movie is or is not referencing it on purpose, the parallels are there. Not really a subject matter any Abare fan wants to see even in a 20th anniversary movie like this. Furthermore, bringing up the culture this way might not be the best commentary. It feels less educated and more of a wave of the finger from old timers, even though there are some real problems out there with real victims, and I'd hate to throw all that under the umbrella of “kids are just too sensitive these days”. Though no matter how you may feel about it, I do think they nail the landing. Behind many people who point the finger and seek justice in backwards ways is someone that was badly hurt in life and might still be holding onto that pain. Granted, the people you might go after aren't always superheroes, so it's REALLY strange to see this character go after the AbaRangers and no one is talking about how they are CLEARLY trying to stop the evil monster running amok! Still, holding on to pain never lets you lead a full life. The bitterness clouds your judgement. You just might miss the good things in front of you. And above all else, life is what you make of it. So if you have influence over others, why not be a positive influence?
King-Ohger 31: Double Bluff! Sometimes I don't fully understand why the story solves plot issues in a round-about way, but they do. I don't know why it took this long for everyone to reveal the Galactinsects as the true enemies, but here we are. Just glad to see Jeremie/Kumonos' kingdom restored to its peaceful glory. And as the main villain randomly yeets them into another reality, one might ask why he didn't just do that sooner. But this time, I think the answer is obvious. He wanted to try his hand at toying with them and break their spirits first, which he epically failed at.
Gotchard 05: Ringside Mania! To newer fans, as well as those who haven't done their research, an episode like this may seem like nothing more than a standard MOTW episode. Some might not even like it simply because it is wrestling-focused. However, for those who know about the stunt workers and the occasional wrestler cameos, something like this episode has been LONG overdue. And for fans like me, you never know how much you want to see it until an episode like this makes it happen. Because those suit actors know how to do real fighting, and yes, that includes wrestling. I wish Ichinose/Gotchard could have at least promised to visit and learn some more about wrestling from the gym owner, even if the truth about Alchemy would be hidden from him. …Also after all that back-breaking, I'm pretty sure Ichinose is going to be stronger than Batman at this point!
That's all for now, my crowd. Take care, and get some balloons ready.
Not sure if this counts as a music request from @StrawberryMilk Simp or not, but I'm counting it! Ever since I have listened to this English cover, I can't get it out of my head! It's so good. And while you're enjoying, you might want to seek out the original version just in case. But for now, this is "Pasilyo (English Cover)" by a!ka.

Hey there, my crowd! This status update is a day late because... Meh. Anyways, let's talk about the previous week that we just finished.
Nothing extremely major happened. Although, our cool weather streak was broken by another heat wave. I really hope this stops by October.
There were some trailers released; some of which I don't care for. Might see the Onimusha anime. Love me some historical anime. We got an animation for Sonic Superstars that was 5 minutes of pure awesome!! And lastly, I am somewhat curious about Disney's Once Upon A Studio.
Unfortunately, there is nothing new report on MAW Superman. The show has finished it's first season. An amazingly short first season, but still packed with so much awesome. (Might be a result of the writer's strike?) So until there are more episodes dropped, I have nothing to report. Maybe I should fill the void with Netflix's Live Action One Piece...
King-Ohger 29: A Forced Hand. Get ready to get knocked in the feels for this one. For now we see that the weak attack from last week's ninja monster was all just a distraction for the real plot, manipulating a televised battle, manipulating the hearts and minds of the people, and trying to make the various countries turn on each other. I'm not sure the plan that the 5 rulers came up with was all that great of a plan; I could find at least two faults with it. But it doesn't matter. Jeremie/Kumonos decided to take the bullet on that one. What a sad, unnecessary, yet completely selfless sacrifice... Or at least it would be if the preview for the next episode didn't show that he'll still be there.
KING-OHGER 29 SUPPLEMENTAL: The 5 rulers came up with a plan. They were going to pretend to be politically corrupt and act like their mind-controlled retainers were actually trying to prevent their rulers from committing an international incident. The problem I have is... Why was that necessary? You could just show the people that the rulers are still standing in solidarity as allies. If the rulers are united, why should their kingdoms continue to be divided? Secondly, if they are trying to save their retainers from a terrible fate, why not just blame everything on the new enemy? It's not like these monsters are being kept secret. Pretty sure the people would accept that the retainers were being mind-controlled. The only part that makes sense is how Leech could mentally manipulate them at any point, so they really should have focused more on that aspect. Good ideas here in this episode, they just didn't come together super cohesively.
Gotchard 03: Bushido & Ketchup?! Well mark this in your history books, everyone. The citizens actually have a realistic reaction to a monster for once, and the hero actually watches the explosion this time! I waited for this episode, and I was glad to see the red samurai AppareSkebos in action! On top of it, we got to see our first look at the 2nd transformation character. It's the guy with the ketchup dispenser shoulders! He's kind of a jerk, though; and I don't think he's a Kamen Rider just yet. Not to mention, it looks like our boy Ichinose/Gotchard has got a LOT to do. He's got people to befriend, enemies to defeat, and possibly an entire system to change.
That's all for now, my crowd. Take care, and don't forget.
Once more, we tap into the world of things that shouldn't work together, but oddly enough they do. This is a mashup of "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley and G Gundam's "Trust You Forever (English Version)" by Yoshifumi Ushima. Props for using the English version. This is "Rick Astley VS Yoshifumi Ushima - Never Gonna Trust You Forever (G Gundam Rickroll)" by Xavier Walko.

Honestly my crowd, I thought I'd be in the holiday season before I got to this --> But let me tell you about the week we just finished!
I guess the biggest thing to report was Labor Day! I had a good one, my crowd. Honestly, this has been a very relaxing week for me.
In other news, I saw trailers for Godzilla Minus One and Monarch. Looks like Goji's about to have more content made~ Saw the first episode of the Tiny Toons reboot, and my feelings are mixed. The show has potential, but I heard that Babs and Buster are still related and there might be other things being changed too. Still, I wish it more success than we all expected. Last of all, there is going to be another Chicken Run. Honestly, I have the worst time remembering the events of any of these claymation movies made by this studio, let alone what happened in the first Chicken Run. Still, glad it's successful, I guess.
MAW Superman 09 & 10: An Alien To You & Me! So much to unpack from just two episodes! We see the origins of the General and learn he is Lois's dad. The rise of Amanda Waller. Braniac and Zod have been teased, but not as much as they tease Supe's dad. Looks like a certain villain finally has powers without needing tech. And I don't know if this was ever done in all his years of existing and comic book reboots, but making Superman look like a lost weapon of destruction and conquest works SO well! ...And I guess Jimmy is rich now? It was all just too powerful. We conclude one cliffhanger and end with another!
King-Ohger 27: Royalty & Destroyers. I CALLED IT!! I knew that wouldn't be the last we saw of Kamejim. The intro gave us a fake out, made it look like Jeramie/Kumonos' first follower was destroyed. I know we got a blurb about why the other kings were in prison, but I still don't fully get it. I don't like that Gira's royal outfit is the same as Racles's, would have preferred something in white. Also, could it be I spoke too soon? Could it be that Racles knew about this galactic threat and was preparing for it this whole time? For now, it looks like their weapons have no effect. I wonder how they'll solve this problem...
Gotchard 01: Al-Chemy Begins~! Well this is a very bland beginning, which is not necessarily a negative depending on how this show goes. They spend more time setting up a bunch of things rather than explaining the majority of it, and there is also plenty of narrative tropes that we've seen before a million times. About the only thing that took me by surprise was the teacher being involved in this alchemy craziness. Either way, classic tale of an unskilled rookie getting caught in something they are very much not ready for. BTW, you're not slick, show. Ichinose? Hopper1? I see what you're doing. In fact, there might be a LOT to what you're doing. Even the female classmate (Rinne Kudo) might be an homage to Wizard's Koyomi, but hopefully she'll have a better story here. I'll save the rest for my Supplemental thoughts.
GOTCHARD 01 SUPPLEMENTAL: So to start, let's be clear about the main character. His full name is Hotaro Ichinose. Get it? Ichinose, which sounds similar to Kamen Rider #1 (Ichigo)? His suit is based on #1's first suit, and one of his first cards is Hopper1. Kamen Rider #1 was based on a grasshopper, has been called Hopper, but is always regarded as the first Rider. However, Hotaro sounds similar to Haruto, as in Kamen Rider Wizard. With all the heroic alchemy users wearing rings, I doubt that's a coincidence. Did this show combine a bunch of other inspirations to make this Rider as well? Steamliner might be based on Den-O's train, his initial bug form based on ReVice's Remix forms, and maybe there's a touch of OOO in there since that show also had alchemy. And while the image of a young grade schooler is getting popular in Japan right now (thanks to stuff like Pokemon), #1 was also a student, so maybe that's also by design. Many of these elements feel random, but they might not be at all. Finally, don't stress about the first episode being bland. They could be doing that on purpose to really give to story some weight later.
No movies this week. I was planning on it, but just couldn't find anything that really inspired me this time. Maybe this coming week instead.
That's all for now, my crowd. Take care, and recharge.
Tonight's song is a request from @StrawberryMilk Simp! It's an old meme by this point, but it's a classic that never dies, especially if you're a He-Man fan like me. But so many people only share the short version that they don't even know there's a full version! So here it is. This is "Fabulous Secret Powers" by slackcircus.

If there was a problem, yo, I'll solve it, my crowd! For now, let's review...
Can't say anything super big or major happened to me this week. However, there were some celebrity deaths. RIP Bob Barker and many others that have died recently.
In other random pieces of news... Charles Martinet has stepped down as Mario, but he may still be involved with Nintendo. There's been trailers for Sonic Superstars and the last piece of Sonic Frontiers DLC! So hyped about the multiplayer, Metal Amy/Metal Tails, and more~ If I forgot to mention it sooner, I got my AbaRanger DVD box set! Which is very relevant to tonight's post.
NO KING-OHGER THIS WEEK! I'm holding back in favor of the finale of Geats. But I do have a consolation lined up...
Abare W/ Don: A Wildly Better Promo! Ultimately like the last one (Hurricaneger with DonBrothers), this is just a promo for the AbaRanger anniversary movie. However, this one feels like a much better stand-alone crossover. Maybe I just feel that way because I haven't seen any major DonBros action for a while now. Still, after getting that AbaRanger DVD boxset, seeing this get translated shortly after felt like just the right timing for me.
Geats 48: The Final Pieces? How dare they take the pose of our founding Rider and use it in vein! Every moment of this episode is packed with story and great moments. The return of Girori, the original Game Master, now sticking it to his superiors! The awaited fusion of the good and evil Tsumuri's. But it all ends when we finally see the last piece of opening's imagery come to life just as Geats was winning. Now what?
Geats 49: Ready? Fight For Desire! No need to trust last. Time to trust first. There are some aspects of this story that are not perfect. I feel like we never got full disclosure on what evil Tsumuri really wanted out of life, or what happened to her for that matter. There is also a moment that jumps shark a little bit with time-reversing logic. However, it all comes together to form a strong ending. A natural ending that was hinted at many episodes ago; perhaps from the very beginning if you can believe it. I won't spoil that ending here. All I can say is perhaps life is what you make of it, and happiness is always there if you're willing to chase (or wish) for it.
[ 1 / 2 ] My final thoughts on Kamen Rider Geats the TV series... I remember when we started this show. A Rider with a gun as his main weapon was advertised, along with a death-match setting. I was worried about how they'd pull this off; that maybe it would be too dark even for Japanese children. However, they found a way to make it work. The story was so engaging that it had me on the edge of my seat; if not every episode then every other episode! Basically, I was enjoying it so much that the time between episodes just melted by. You know it's a great season when having to wait a week for each episode feels like a reward rather than a grind. As the old saying goes, time flies when you're having fun. That's not to say that this show is without flaws, of course...
[ 2 / 2 ] Eventually, the Admins began to understand the true origins of Ace/Geats. At some point, they began to embrace the roll of super villains a bit too hard. I wondered if they were endangering the “future” they came from. And there were other small flaws too, but it wasn't enough to take away from the beautiful ending that came together in the end. What really makes it beautiful, though, is their approach. They could've had the heroes say the predictable line of “Happiness is not limited!”, but they went a different route. We did get to that point eventually, but in an unexpected way. A way that fits with how this show began. Sure, ReVice is a SLIGHTY better show. However, if you choose this TV show, you'll definitely be in for a great experience. ...But now it's time to flip the card and see what Gotchard has to offer.
[ 1 / 2 ] TOKUSATSU MOVIE TIME! I recently saw Shin Kamen Rider. Normally I wouldn't go into spoilers for movies like this. However, the movie is available internationally on Amazon Prime. I believe that makes it fair gain by now. Going into it, I heard the movies with the Shin title were a tough sell to many. This is no exception. If the movies The First & The Next were No. 1's shining moment, this movie is No. 2's shining moment. I do hate when a star character gets killed off, though. I know Rider is suppose to be a tragic, lone-hero story, but not even the original TV show was this level of tragic. Still, up until the ending, this was easily one the of the best modern takes on the source material. It explained the costumes, the monsters, the deaths, Shocker's methods, etc. It really brought a level of cohesion that the original show needed. The movie starts off super fast with Hongou/No. 1's origins; and the actors manage to capture the spirit of these characters above personal looks. The action is amazing, the story is gripping, and there are great moments. I can't say it's perfect, it's really quantity over quality; maybe because Shinji Higuchi wasn't working with Hideaki Anno for this one. They didn't nail the ending, introducing Robot Detective K went nowhere, and who knows if we'll get a sequel. In fact, the story beats here have been done by other Rider shows before. As it stands, I can only recommend this to die-hard fans of the original Kamen Rider story; especially if you are open to creative re-imaginings.
[ 2 / 2 ] TOKUSATSU MOVIE TIME! I also saw Shin Ultraman! This may easily be the best in Shin cinematic series. And why not? Ultraman is just as iconic and important to Japan as Superman is to America. It was imperative that they did this right, and I think they succeeded. I'm not the biggest Ultra fan; so I only know what I know from summaries. The original show was very sci-fi, but this movie was very grounded. Even so, it still felt like a wonderful love letter to the franchise. We had beastly kaiju, intelligent aliens trying to manipulate Earth and its inhabitants, and space-age elements and tech that Earth is not ready for. In the middle of it all, an Ultraman that has formed a partnership with a human. It's a re-imagining, yet you can easily connect the dots to see how modern Earth might evolve into what we saw in the vintage TV series. Did the hero ultimately die? It's left ambiguous, so there is a chance he's still here and capable of defending the Earth! Zoffy was introduced, so there are seeds for the Ultraman legacy to continue in this universe. Best of all, the story-telling has WAY better pacing than Shin Kamen Rider. I may be going out of chronological order, but I am glad I saw this movie last. The only thing that makes this a tough sell is the fact that this is not the story of Shin Hayata and the Space Patrol from the original series; this the story of Shinji Kaminaga and the SSSP. The cast may have many spiritual similarities to their counterparts, and having something unique makes it easier for me to judge this movie on its own without constantly comparing, but it might not be what long-time fans want. Still, as something original, I say that this movie is completely worth your watch.
MAW Superman 07 & 08: Remember & Survive! Somehow this show just keeps finding ways to get even better! Multiverse confirming different Lois's and Supermen, including all their classic iterations! Myxie is now the evil anime god he was always meant to be. Kryptonite and Krypton dropped! And oh, be still my shipping heart~!! But then, one bad day can ruin you. If it doesn't make you into a terrible person, it can still ruin your day and everything else.
That's all for now, my crowd. Take care, and build.
I said I was done with this. I really don't want to highlight stuff like this anymore... But when it comes to making covers that SHOULD have been made in real life, maybe this is what AI is really for! Besides the vocal glitches and technical limitations, this is pretty much perfect. I doubt Lady Gaga will ever sing this song in real life, but that's what we have AI for. This is "Lady Gaga sings Radio Ga Ga - Queen [AI COVER]".

Hey there, my crowd. Sorry this is late again. It happens. I'll explain soon.
The biggest thing I did this past week was purchase a new Sentai DVD boxset. I'm waiting for it to arrive right now. It is expected to be here by Wednesday. Aba, aba, aba, aba, AbaRanger~!
I also forgot to mention some things last week. I got a haircut and my mother hurt her back at work, but she is recovering. Wasn't that serious.
As for why this update is late, that's because I am currently cleaning up my computer making back-ups of my personal files. I have decided I am going to try to update my computer to Windows 11 on my own. Wish me luck, my crowd~ Also, because I've been busy doing this, no Superman or Tokusatsu this past week.
[ 1 / 2 ] MOVIE TIME! I recently saw Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. ...Okay, so I know I said I'd watch Shin Kamen Rider, but this just became available on digital, and I HAD to see it! Gotta say, I felt things from this movie that I wasn't expecting. You can say multiverse movies are getting overdone, but I think this is one of the best stories so far. In the case of either going big or going home, it really went big. I didn't really see the artistic value in the first movie that other people were raving about, but I definitely saw it here. The tons of cameos and the tons of different art styles really put it in over the top. In an age where people complain that Marvel movies are all too similar, this genuinely felt different. And the biggest surprise of them all... I can't even tell you because it ruins the ending. In light of a certain writer's strike going on, I really hope this is one of the movies that gets its well deserved third film, cause I doubt anyone saw that coming. This movie felt even more like a comic book superhero movie than many other superhero movies, and I love it.
[ 2 / 2 ] MOVIE TIME! I also saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. I enjoyed this movie. I knew we were finally going to explore Rocket Racoon's backstory, but that was a roller-coaster of all the best feels! It was nice that they tied the beginning to the Christmas special while not outright confirming it. The only weak element in the whole movie was Adam Warlock. They didn't really do much with him, but then again, it wasn't meant to be his movie. He was introduced, so I assume he is being saved for later. We even got one last look at a certain duck. And while this was really Rocket's movie, we got to see everyone growing and maturing in their own way too. I am going to miss these guys. We may see Star Lord or other characters in the future if we are lucky, but for now, their story is complete. Thank you Guardians; you were easily one of the best and somewhat unexpected part of the MCU. Next time... Shin Kamen Rider and something else. Not sure. Might be Dungeons & Dragons, might be Little Mermaid, might be a third option. I'll figure it out.
That's all for now, my crowd. Take care, and don't crawl forever!
I don't know the full story here and I wish I did. All I know is there is a Sonic Adventure fan OST of some kind, but I can't find any more information on it. For now, Johnny once again gives back to the fandom, and I am loving it even more. This is "Keep It Real" by Zakkujo Feat. Johnny Gioeli of Crush 40.

Hey there, my crowd. Yes, this post is late. I can explain. Stick with me, okay? But first, sad news...
RIP Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee Herman). And apparently John Paragon (Jambi the Genie) died two years earlier. Not sure how I missed that. May they both rest in peace.
The reason this update is late is because I had a really jam-packed weekend. I got to do some over-due shopping, try something new, catch up on a bunch of shows, and more. I was also waiting for something special to happen, but it never did. Perhaps it was canceled. I wonder if the ones in charge changed their minds... Oh well. Also, my uncle's vehicle broke down, but my mother was able to be there to help him out.
I tried Coca-Cola Ultimate Edition (Zero Sugar) recently, and... It was kinda bad. On first sip, it almost tasted like what you might get if the Coca-Cola company made their version of Pepsi. But it was really sweet, and the aftertaste reminded me of bubblegum for some reason. Definitely wasn't very ultimate to me.
Been seeing more trailers lately. The ones that stuck out? Saw the first preview of Kamen Rider Gotchard. Wasn't sure about it at first, but one of his alternate forms is samurai themed. How can I possibly turn that down? Netflix is making an animated special about Sun Wukong known "The Monkey King". Oddly enough, it showed me there has actually been a lot of animated things based on Son Wukong lately. There is a violent CGI cartoon that I believe has come out of China, and even Lego made their own cartoon. Where do I begin? And last of all, I saw the OP theme for the new Tiny Toons reboot! The lyrics were changed, but it's still the same song from the original cartoon. Promising start. Now let's see if they can stick the landing.
Geats 44: New-Go! Yeah, it was pretty awesome seeing her father pull off that win just barely, but we can all agree that Na-Go wields it way better. My only gripe is that Buffa should have put Beroba out of her misery. If I am remembering this correctly, it's kind of a weird back track on his claims of being the Rider that can do the dirty jobs no one else can.
Geats 45: You Could Make A Religion Out Of This. Gotta say, as they were building up to the resolution to the end of this episode, I was not expecting this. I guess Geats really hadn't fully evolved with his Creation powers yet; but now, all of that has changed. What will happen in this next iteration? I know these episode reviews have been short, but my hype levels haven't wavered.
King-Oh 20: Last Chance For...! The show isn't even half over, and it feels like everything has built up to this. Admittedly, they had me in the first half. Wasn't sure why it was necessary for Black's sister to marry Racles, but it all became apparent why. And I hope that the truth makes the marriage null and void. Racles had a chance to return to being the kind, caring king that Gira wanted, but Racles turned him down. Now Gira/Red sits as the true king of Shuggodom! But falling off a cliff didn't kill Gira, so why should it kill Racles?
King-Oh 21: Take Your Throne. Isn't it just weird? I was quietly wondering if Gira/Red even had what it take to be a ruler since he's lived as a commoner and a rebel before. Being royalty is far more demanding. However, it seems the important thing is simply remembering your ambition and staying true to that. … Also, what was up with this new OP? I like the dance, but it had Geats, so I get the feeling it's not going to last forever.
MAW Superman 03 & 04: Faster Than A Speeding Reporter. Between the images and the oddly angular shape of the tech, I can't help but wonder if we are planting the seeds for the Mother Box/Darkseid. It was cool seeing Supes learn his laser vision. I thought it was dumb they retconned Clark to not be a sports athlete. He has muscles, he should have a distractable reason for them! But at least Lois figured out the truth in record time. How will this play out? And has Jimmy been left behind?
hat's all for now, my crowd. Take care, and sail along.
Well, if Japan isn't going to give it to us, the fans will make it happen themselves? It's the ultimate crossover with Godzilla, Ultraman, King Kong, Evangelion, Gundam, and... Pacific Rim? This is "Godzilla vs Ultraman 5: Dawn Of War, (ゴジラ対ウルトラマン5 戦争の夜明け) part 3" by Godzilla Geek.
