  1. Lately, i've been sucked back into a pinball frenzy and i realized that pinball has become a bit of a forgotten thing, considering that arcades are no more and there are barely any pubs out there that still own any Pinball Machines. Anyone still like to play Pinball?
  2. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ||NNSpace NNSpace or Neon Space is a game i developed in a week so far, it's a retro style arcade game that consists in surviving as long as possible in upcoming waves of always harder waves, since the game is currently in development so there is nothing much to see but it's going to get bigger (i am NOT an artist so please don't commentate on the art style and such) dowload at: upcoming features: -enemies with smart AI (chase player) -small motherships (float around with small turrets) -big motherships (small bosses with multiple turrets and rocket turrets) -huge motherships (bosses that spawn every 30 waves and get stronger with multiple turrets rockets and spawn smaller spacecrafts, give an extra life if u defeat em) -scoreboard (scoreboard of current top scores) -more kind of meteors -more stuff that you guys can suggest as of version 0.6.2 -rockets are now slightly slower and easier to hit as of version 0.6.1 -rockets now destroy also meteors as of version 0.6 -added rocket turrets as of version 0.5.1 -added a turret on the space station (with player aim) as of version 0.5 -space station as of version 0.4.1 -solved small respawn bug -time counter as of version 0.4 -small enemy spaceships with no smart AI (don't chase player) -wave counter as of version 0.3 -red big meteors as of version 0.2 -blue splitter meteorices -light blue splitted meteorites as of version 0.1 -green normal meteories -lives -score (original game maker forum page)
  3. Anyone still like to play those, either on MAME or Xbox Live Arcade/PSN? To this day, I still play the classics like TMNT, Simpsons, and X-Men. This was before Konami sucked, back when they were cool. I almost never see beat-em-up games anymore, they are very low in numbers these days. The only one I usually see people playing is Castle Crashers, which is fun, I will admit. It is not just beat-em-ups, but also other classics like Donkey Kong and Pac-Man. I can't really describe it, but the feeling of putting a coin in the machine is so satisfying, being able to get your monies worth from a few plays to see how far you could get before running out of time or money. Does anyone still like to play these, or is it just me that is nostalgic for the arcade?
  4. I think having those light gun arcade games for VR headsets would be super fun. Ghost Squad, Time Crisis, Silent Scope etc. Particularly if the cabinets are simulated too. I mean, that would make me want a VR headset at least. Just look at Hover Junkers! What do you guys think?
  5. Thanks to Game Sack (Which is a wonderful YouTube channel that you should totally check out hint hint) I have become fascinated with certain games and systems, specifically the Neo Geo arcade system. This powerful system was an arcade machine but also had a home system counterpart called the AES, which had arcade perfect games but at the cost of the games themselves being very expensive, to $150 and more! There was also a CD system that drastically cut down the price of the games but had loading times which was troublesome for some games. Anyone else have experience with this system and its games? We can discuss it! What games are your favorites? Got any memories with the arcade system or the AES? I think my favorite games for the system are Metal Slug, League Bowling, and Windjammers. League Bowling is a surprisingly addictive bowling game and it is really easy to get into. Windjammers, while bieng incredibly difficult, is still a really cool take on the idea of pong. That game needs a modern day reboot.
  6. OK, so let's think about this, apparently people say that FNAF has too less content or is too boring to be on a console, but what about an arcade version? The game is perfectly suited to arcades. An arcade version, with Screens on the sides showing the jump scares, specifically designed by scott and with an actual computer camera inside, would be awesome. Is it too expensive? It would be brilliant. A lot of games, such as Doodle Jump, Angry Birds and even Temple Run have got their own Arcade Games, and FNAF is acessible enough. Could it work?
  7. Between the Bemani games, Capcom fighters, Sega games, and other similar games from other developers? What is it about arcade game style music that makes it so catchy? I think its because a lot of them are very upbeat and fast-paced. This style of music is really lacking in games today and its kinda sad too, I feel it gives them alot of energy and excitement.
  8. While not my favorite game of all time, it is one of my all time favorite games . I just want to know which character from the game everypony likes best (even if it's one you can't play as) Mine... The Necromancer, mighty battle-mage of death.
  9. Does anyone remember a game called Time Crisis? By Namco where you had a gun in your hand and you shot enemies and used a pedal to hide? I Absolutely love it. I Especially like Richard Miller(Who Flash Sentry looks a bit like) who can shoot down helicopters in 10 shots of a handgun. And the boss battles between Sherudo, Wild Dog who appears in every game. Ernesto Diaz. And lots of other villains. Does anyone remember this game? Here is a bit of fan-art which is not by me.
  10. Sorry if there's already a topic regarding this animation already, but as I didn't see it anywhere, I assumed that, while it may have been posted in the pinned video thread, it didn't get its' own topic. Please mods, have mercy on my post. I didn't mean to post a duplicate, I was just- Oh, wait. For those of you who somehow don't know who JanAnimations is, it's a Youtube channel responsible for some of the fanbase's most astonishingly well-done fan animations. One of their top works was a music video that went along with MandoPony's 'Picture Perfect Pony' song, found here. Which, I believe, happened not long before Hasbro and DHX found him, corrupted his soul and adopted him into their corporate world of villainy. At the time, it was also treated as one of the most show-accurate animations out there, winning many over. Even today, Jan's works win people over where Double Rainboom and others have not. During Galacon, they premiered a project that had been advertised several months previously, called 'Buttons' Adventures'. It's a series of animations based off of, you guessed it, somepony's OC a background pony seen back in this song, as our 'too young' pony. A cute little colt playing the video game box, of which sparked its' whole other discussion about where Equestria exactly is regarding technology advancement, but...that's a whole other kettle of fish :3 Point is, creativity from the fanbase + random three second screen time = animation project, once again. Okay, I need to admit, he is cute. Here's the officially released pilot, premiered at GalaCon back on August 4th. What are your thoughts on the project thus far, and your opinion of JanAnimations' other works as well? Are they superior to other animations the fanbase has produced thus far? Or are they simply on par, or even worse than others'? Isn't Button Mash simply adorable? Doesn't he have the voice of an angel? Share with us your cold, unyielding opinions thoughts :'3
  11. I came up with the idea for some good ol' video gaming competition here on MLP forums . Here you can post any personal high scores for classic games such as but not limited to: Pacman, Galaga, Castlevania, Tetris, etc. Ideas to make this more fun are welcome, or general chat about old games too! ^~^. Score entries requre at least a pic of the visible score, name of game, and system played on. For example: Galaga, NES port, played on NES. 82,830 I don't think I'm going to count that score as an approved score because it's been a long while, but it's just a general idea how scores could be entered lol. Top scores: Galaga: Top: 97,800, Arcade version, @, 2nd: 82,830, NES version, @@)NightmareLulamoon(, Tetris: Top 12,000, Arcade version, @@Delernil Pacman: Top: 36,448 - Arcade, @@Scootalove
  12. READY! This has to be my favorite fighting series by far and I am overjoyed at its return! I played this all the time on the SNES and the sequel on 64. The new game on the Xbox One, while the free to play approach is questionable, it looks fantastic and Double Helix did a great job! It will be the first game I get for the One, Ultra edition as it comes with the arcade edition of the original, which I have not played that version. Anypony else love the series? Do you have the newest one? Which one is your favorite? Favorite character in the whole series? These are just random questions I am throwing out there. I a immensely hyped for the new one.
  13. I really wish there were more arcade places around. They're always really fun! So, simple question. What is your favorite Arcade game? My personal favorite is After Burner Climax. The only arcade place I have got some new machines in, and After Burner was one of them. It was really fast and addictive. I couldn't stop playing it. I liked how you had to use the throttle to reach the climax mode, speed up, or slow down. This is the machine I played: (It's really dark, but the place isn't exactly bright.) Here's a better look at the machine.
  14. Who here still goes down the arcade and fritters money away? I know I do. On this thread, you can say whether you still play at arcades, whether you think Arcade Gaming is a bygone idea or your favourite games at the arcade. I'm Playing: ·Time Crisis 3 (Such a large game. Adding the weapon change system definitely improved the series. ·GHOST Squad (Damn it! Why is it so hard to get IC Cards?) And my new discovery: ·Let's go Jungle: Lost on the Island of Spice (Possibly the only arcade game to feature multiple endings)
  15. Sooo... I'm pretty sure a forum like this has its pack of tetris players. Do you guys play Tetris ? How often ? Do you still play on your loyal NES on Tetris NES ? Do you play some obscure arcade version of the game ? Or do you prefer multiplayer on Tetris DS or Tetris Battle maybe ? ------------- Personally, I'm got hooked by Tetris the Grand Master series. If you've seen this video : Well, it's this game. It's really hardcore. (And this guy is good too) But it's so interesting, it's really different than any Tetris game, the rotation system and scoring system are amazingly well made. (No infinite piece rotation like in Tetris DS, you have little time to execute your moves and think about the next piece) Basically, it's about getting grades. But higher grades are not just a matter of clearing lines. You have to be (extremely) quick, you have to avoid clearing single lines, you have to keep your game clean, and you have to be consistent in your overall execution. Well I used to play Tetris DS too, but only for the multiplayer. I tried Tetris Battle too, it's quite fun.
  16. MAME Arcade Layout V2 (Saturn Style) Thinking about making a MAME cabinet, This is my layout. Still need to find / do behind button art, side art, etc... This layout is much like a Sega Saturn controller, so that's what I'm calling it. Messed up a bit on that total. With the extra 3 buttons, that brings it to 19 buttons, 2 joysticks. Sorry, lol. Thanks to Troggle for the MAME logo vector! I'll be using that almost everywhere on the machine! Thanks! What does everyone think of it? Any ideas?
  17. Hi there! It's Violet again! I'm just wondering what everyone's favorite arcade game is! For me, It's gotta be SMASH TV. I can't tell you how many quarters I have pumped into that machine! Finally Beat Smash TV to day on my MAME emulator! My Amazing Final Score: 17,670,590!
