  1. Hello and welcome! This topic is intended to provide a basic outline for both artists and customers who are interested in commissions. Our goal is to ensure that the process for selling and buying commissions is easy and safe. For your benefit, please read the following carefully! Meet the Team! These are the staff members responsible for overseeing commissions. PathfinderCS -- Responsible for the overall management of commissions and finalizing payments. He's the person to contact if you're interested in setting up a commissions shop. He can also answer many of your inquiries about commissions. PathfinderCS -- Responsible for assisting with commissions and customer relations. Jeric -- Responsible for helping to curate your shops and market you as an artist. For artists -- getting started! So, you're interested in doing business here on MLP Forums. That's great! Whether you're selling digital or physical artwork, we can accommodate. In order for us to assist, you'll need to share a few bits of information, as well as formally agree to several stipulations. First, you must have at least 20 "active" posts on the forums. These are posts counted outside of the Welcome Plaza, Roleplay World, and Cloudsdale Colosseum. Reaching 20 posts helps artists to grow accustomed to our community -- so not only is it good business practice, but it's also a nice and friendly thing to do! Second, you will need to provide the following: Some samples of your work. Your agreement to let MLP Forums take a 15% cut from all your sales. This cut is part of our escrow service in which we hold payments until artwork is completed. The escrow does three things: it supports Poniverse through the 15% cut, ensures you'll be paid for your work, and protects customers in the event a refund is needed. The PayPal address at which you wish to receive your payments. A complete outline of your pricing structure in US Dollars (this includes domestic and international shipping for physical artwork, if applicable). Any social media or art accounts you may have (namely, Tumblr, Twitter, dA, and Facebook). Remember, all payments are made in US Dollars (USD). Consider the 15% cut and the value of the USD while setting your prices. Each item must be at least $5 USD. For your convenience, here is an online exchange rate calculator: http://www.x-rates.com/calculator/ NOTE: If you sell custom work that has adjusted pricing based on materials and labor, we can arrange a second method of payment according to the following steps: Instruct your customers to send their payment through https://paypal.me/Poniverse Tell the customer to leave a note that the payment is for you, the artist. Alert us to the payment so we can process it for you. Please note that the commissions staff also reserves the right to deny a request to open a shop on MLP Forums. Setting up shop If you agree to all of the above, then we can begin in earnest to discuss creating a shop for you. The system works like this: artists get a section in the forum store dedicated to them, and they make a thread in the Commissions area to set up shop. You direct customers to your store area to pay for work, and we then pass your payment along to you. Essentially, we hold the payment in escrow. It's our task and duty to ensure both parties are compensated; as such, your share as the artist will be passed along to you once we have confirmation of your work being completed. The customer must first send us the money due to you. You are guaranteed compensation, so long as you provide proof of the work for which you are being paid. Once the staff verifies that the customer has received the commission and is satisfied with the final product, we will send you payment as soon as possible. In summary: A customer submits payment for a commission they'd like. We hold the payment in escrow until you, the artist, complete the commission. Once the commission is completed, you alert me, PathfinderCS, to the fact you've finished and have delivered your work to the customer. I will contact the customer to make sure everything is squared away on their end. Assuming everything's OK (and it normally is), we then send you the payment. Terms of Service Be aware that the board rules apply to all sections of the forum, including commissions. We must first emphasize the exclusive use of the shop here on MLP Forums. Directing customers to pay via another method must be cleared with Path first. Otherwise, you'll be cheating us out of the agreed upon cut and hurting the community (as well as the customer) in the process. Please come and talk to Path if you're ever concerned about your payments. Bear in mind that you cannot sell artwork which would otherwise violate our board rules. This includes, but is not limited to, art which may be excessively vulgar, is NSFW, is fetishistic, or qualifies as hate speech. Artistic expression is a precious thing, but it must be consistent with the standards of our community. Finally, your artwork must be your own. If you appropriate any elements, such as vectors or designs, in your work from another source, it must be done with the express consent of the original creator. In other words, you need permission to sell what wasn't originally yours. Failing to do so is plagiarism and violates our community guidelines. Violation of the above terms may result in the closure of your store and the cancellation of pending purchases. Furthermore, you won't be paid for completing commissions which violate the board rules. Remember: If you're ever uncertain, ask first! Once your shop is ready and to your liking, you may then go ahead and post a thread in this section. Pathfinder will approve the thread so that it is made visible to all potential customers. Shop Activity Artists that have been inactive for a prolonged period without a stated explanation may have their shop closed. An explanation must be submitted to the Commissions Team in advance. More specifically, if there have been no commissions (completed or in-progress) within 60 days, we will contact the artist directly to make sure commissions are being accepted. This will also act as a gentle reminder that the shop has been inactive. If the artist does not respond after 2 weeks from being notified, their commission shop will be closed. This does not apply to temporary closures communicated in advance to the Commissions Team. Similarly, this will not apply to artists who frequently have works in-progress. We understand that some artists work with materials that take longer to produce a finished item (sculptures, plushies, etc). After all, nobody wants a rushed product. For customers -- a promise To those who are interested in ordering commissions, know that you are supporting both the artists and MLP Forums. Your business is always appreciated! Because your payments are held in escrow, we can guarantee that there is zero risk involved for you. You will always be compensated, whether or not you receive the work you requested. We will contact you to find out if your commission has been completed to your satisfaction. In the event you are not satisfied, please let us know! We cannot assist you if you do not make us aware of the problem you may be facing. Our team is here to mediate any dispute, disagreement, or confusion surrounding a commission. We are not responsible for physical items once they are shipped. As such, we encourage customers to look into shipping insurance. Artists who have proof of shipping will be paid, and we are more than willing to assist in arranging a new shipment if both the artist and customer agree to a new deal. Payment Information Transactions charged to accounts will appear in statements as Poniverse.net. The following information is also attached to each transaction: Merchant Name: Poniverse Website: https://poniverse.net/ Email Address: paypal@poniverse.net Address: 1641 Lonsdale Ave., Suite 248 North Vancouver, BC V7M 2J5 Once more, please direct any questions to PathfinderCS via PM. He will be more than happy to speak with you.
  2. I wasn't sure where to put this... so just threw it in here. It's directed mostly at artists and writers. XD Mods: Feel free to move it to where you think it fits! Anyway, what tools do you use the most when doing art or writing (or both)? For writing, I use an iPad and a stylus. Most of it is because it's easier to write when I'm not at home. Another reason is because my computer is very old (7+ years), so I can't really use it for that sort of thing. I'm also not really used to using it either. >< As for art, I often have a sketchbook, colored pencils, a tracing pen and my 1.3 mm mechanical pencils (yes! they do exist!).
  3. So, any brony musician you would recommend? If you're going to recommend someone, do link to their youtube channel, bandcamp or their website. Do also be nice and put up an example for all of us to have a listen to. It may not be straight-forward to put a genre on them since they may or may not vary so consider that optional. First up, WoodyMoto. All of his soundtracks are instrumental. It's been three years since his latest soundtrack but the ones he did make are pretty darn good! I'll recommend more as more people post. For the sake of not stretching the page to much, let's limit it to one video per post, shall we?
  4. A topic inspired by a recent EQD post. Apologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum, I tried. During my time in the fandom, I've seen and heard of multiple fandom content creators stopping work on MLP content, even in the midst of big projects. Many of these creators have stated that creating MLP content has held them back from their artistic pursuits and/or they no longer like the fandom or show. Some artists may create nothing but MLP content for a period and then completely drop it, causing fans to wonder why and the artist may suffer backlash for it. So my question is why do some artists limit themselves to only MLP content for a long time, to the point they feel that it is restricting them? Do they feel obligated to create fanart? Do they wish to maintain their reputation and fanbase? I'm not an artist, so I apologize in advance if I may seem ignorant of such things. The same with fans, some fans will only ever pay attention to MLP and nothing else, to the the point that if MLP content is lacking they will feel lost. Why just MLP? Expand your tastes and interests, that way you do not suffer from "burnout." Finally, my last point of discussion is how can we increase awareness of this? I know a lot of the pressure artists feel is from fans themselves, pushing them to create more and more content causing them to ultimately dislike the fandom for it. How can we decrease the chances of this occurring? So many artists just come and go, it's sad to see them leave.
  5. Hello everyone! Since I quit drawing ponies, I want to share with you some good artwork from other artists. They are my friends and they doesnt speak english at all. Thats why I'm posting it here instead of them joining this forum. So... does anyone of you guys are interested in watching some nice artists doing their art here? They are all focused on commission and mostly it will be OC's stuff unfortunately... Here is some examples of their arts: "Royal Cake" by Blacki "Baby cows" by SunFlower "Flutterpocalypsis" by Swit "Birthday present" by Ketchup
  6. Hey everypony. Thought I put this up cause I have a plan, yet it may take a while to get this up and running. However, I am currently finishing up one of my fan-fic: My Little Pony: The Day Equestria Stood Still Now this story, I want to turn it into a Fan Film, but a film with a length of 2 hours............yes, 2 hours long. As a Halo Machinima Director, Writer, and Voice Actor, thought I change in direction, and thought it would be nice to add some action and sci-fi to MLP a bit. I'm gonna give a run down on the story, as well as a list of characters, and a crew to assist me on this. So, to start thing off: PLOT: This fan fic will be a mix of genre's, with some action, sci-fi, and dark type (not to dark though) of setting. Now to being, this story will feature a non-canon, who will be the main antagonist of the story. This villains name is Khaoios, having a sort of reference to Greek Gods, Koios/Coeus, and Prometheus. The story focuses mostly on the Mane 6, and all of Equestria's inhabitants will play a role, into learning more about the Alicorn and what way they could stop him. The setting of the story will be all over Equestria, as well as out in orbit. Rather not spoil the rest, but once im done writing the story, I will post it here. *This fan film, will infact have some resemblances like in the main series where certain episodes are a mimic of some games, tv, and films. I will reveal that info later. WHAT I NEED (no limit): Animators/Artists Editors Script Writers (Once im done with the regular story, I will PM you the story) Musicians (You can freely create music to fit the moment of the story. I will also add some of music you hear in Machinima's) Sound Designers (I will be adding some familiar sound effects, most of them are explosions, glass breaking, roars/growls) Voice Actors/Actresses (I will need a lot, and may ask a few well known ones on youtube as well) COMMUNICATIONS: I will be setting up Skype (b/c one of my pc's has a problem, so we will be communicating mostly through there). Want to say one thing, though, there is no rush whatsoever into making this fan film. I am looking forward to seeing volunteers, VOICE-OVER ROLES:There will be a lot of characters featured in this fan film, so I will provide a list below for all of you, Also, if you want, feel free to drop a demo file, so I can hear them which would be great, Here are demos lines for each character: - Fan Film Audio Demo Lines 1 - Fan Film Audio Demo Lines CAST: Main Protagonists Twilight Sparkle - OPEN () Rarity - OPEN () Pinkie Pie - OPEN () Applejack - OPEN () Rainbow Dash - OPEN () Fluttershy - TAKEN (@@EbonyTails-VA) Spike - OPEN () Supporting Protagonists Princess Celestia - OPEN () Princess Luna - OPEN ( ) Princess Cadance - OPEN () Shining Armor - OPEN () Doctor Hooves - OPEN () Main Antagonist Khaoios - TAKEN (@) Other Characters (Some of these characters will have short or long roles) The Wonderbolts (Consisting of Spitfire, Soarin, and Fleetfoot) - OPEN (ALL 3) - Spitfire () - Soarin () - Fleetfoot () Cutie Mark Crusaders (Consisting of Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle) - OPEN (ALL 3) - Applebloom - TAKEN (@,) - Scootaloo () - Sweetie Belle () Big Mac - OPEN () Zecora - OPEN () Derpy - TAKEN (@@PrincessLena) Daring Do (Yes, she will make an appearance, the story will reveal her role) - OPEN () All other minor characters, (There will be lots of them, so if you want to voice a minor character, post the name and image of the character). 7. WARNING: This post contains minor spoilers for those reading outside of MLP Forums or for those who aren't interested in partaking in my new project: "Mare and the Master's TARDIS Adventures!" Basically, what this project is about is the Master from the original TV Series called "Doctor Who." He is the Doctor's rival trying to take over the universe but he unexpectedly takes a new companion on board, a pony named just "Mare;" who is a mysterious blue unicorn from Canterlot. Mare won't really try to stop the Master from doing bad things unless if it is really necessary. This series comes from another perceptive from my old audio play series called Doctor Whooves: Adventure is Time Travel. It won't need the title "Doctor Whooves" at the beginning because he's not a main character. This will need a different intro, but I'm having a hard time trying to find the fanmade intro that someone made for the Master. If someone can find any videos, please link them to me in the comment section. If anyone has seen my previous threads, then you'll know the drill. But for the new comers, continue to scroll down! What I need: Audio Editors (MOST IMPORTANT!) Artists and auditions (for a couple of characters only.) Characters I need: Bullet and the Master Also art must be in digital, no traditional please. Please do not trace other artwork unless if given permission from bases only! Your auditions must be in mp3 format and they must be sent to me at thefillybrony665@gmail.com! Also I do want as much background noise removed as possible! Well, just found out that I can't attach files. Oh well, I'll make a video and link you all to the Master's voice. I do want a deep voice for Bullet but he will sound like a responsible guard. Goodluck!
  8. So I am currently 32 years of age, and I have been drawing since I was maybe 4-6? It is still my preferred way to draw. I also colour on paper, using either inks, watercolour pencilcrayons, or oil pencilcrayons. I will try and post one every once in a while in this thread, as quite a few of them have accumulated over the years. Keep in mind these are all copyrighted. You can view them all in my sig. This one is probably one of the scariest ones I ever did - I call it "Anare'il, the dragon god of Chaos" - I started in in 2004 - but I had it fully done with solid shading. I t was ok at the time.. but I felt like it had more potential. So 10 years later I went back to it, erased all the solid shading, and reshaded it all.. and the result became much much scarier.. the pencil was really cool, but I still felt it could be more.. so I took a piece of it, and isolated it, and it became much scarier. Then I took that piece and slapped some generic photoshop colour on it - I wasn't going for much here, just wanted to see what colour would do to it, and it became.. creepily alive. I then chopped it up a bit just to see what itd look like with its mouth closed etc.. it got pretty interesting.. there is also a little dot by his one claw - that is supposed to be a little girl - it shows scale - he's one big boy keep in mind the last shots were simply for my own amusement of how the mouth would look opened or closed - I made no effort to actually make it all streamlined, or even to colour it adequately - just fun experiments I will show all the images below the original solid shaded the reshaded the snapshot the coloured snapshot the variations
  9. So over time I got really into digital pieces, very vivid colours with a cosmic theme, and while I am not too pleased that they have become my most popular art pieces, as hand drawn works take much longer to do, I am still happy that they get some sort of recognition. I will try and post one every once in a while in this thread, as quite a few of them have accumulated over the years. Keep in mind these are all copyrighted. You can view them all in my sig. These are not full resolution due to copyright issues.. issues I am still actively fighting as people like to use them without crediting me. This one is called Cosmic heart of the universe, it is also the cover of my published book here is is as a lightbox too
  10. Was curious to know if there are any artists, etc. who actually work on the show here on the MLP forums? That you know of?
  11. Hey everyone! I've been hard at work on my game on and off for the past couple of months. Currently, I'm still working on the core of the game. The thing is, I'm in desperate need of an artist. If you care about the story or mechanics of the game, here's the lowdown: The player is a magical amulet. When somebody puts on the amulet, the player gains control of that body. When the host dies, the amulet drops on the ground until a new person sees it and puts it on. The cycle continues, with the player working toward the ultimate goal of defeating a furious goddess... I have made a bit of progress, as you can see from these gifs: (just... just click the button thingy) HOWEVER, as you could probably tell, the art is ugly. And bad. (and most of the animations are bad as well until I get around to fixing them. Same for the AI, among other things.) I may be good at programming, and arguably designing games, but art is not my forte, nor is it particularly fun for me. That's why I'm asking you guys, the artists, for help! I know there's at least one good artist reading this. These are the types of artists I'm looking for: Character artists (Pixel art only) Prop/Item/Tile artists (Pixel art only) Background artists (Any form of digital art) If you are interested in helping me create this game, that's great! I'll still do art, of course, but there's a lot of things I am not the best at making. Unfortunately, there will be no pay, because no money will be made from this game. This project is completely passion-driven. Skype (text chat, no voice or video) is my preferred method of communication, but if you don't have one, that's fine too. So now that I'm done talking, would any artists be interested in joining me in the creation of this game?
  12. I know many bands that I love have already disbanded years ago. Yet I wish a lot of these bands were still relevant today and making music. What artists do you love from the past that broke up that you wished could still be around today? Operation Ivy would have to be on the top of my list for me. I just discovered about a year ago and instantly grew attached to their material. Makes me wish at times I could go back just to see them grow as a band and see them live. Another band I had in mind was Jet. A sound that when I heard this band for the first time I instantly grew attached too. When I heard they were not making music anymore it killed me... I loved this band and they had a lot of potential. So tell me what artist's do you remember that you wish could be still be around today?
  13. Hello, my friend Ray is working on a large animated project called The Cinnamon Chestnut Project. She is in Need of Background Artists......................Here is a Trailer done by her. 14. Hello! My name is Boosh and I am the director of Royal Pony Studios. We are working on an original series that involves our own characters and animation style, so we don't get copyrighted by Hasrbo! The team and I are currently looking for new background artists who can do both 2D and 3D backgrounds if needed. Please add me on Skype @ booshthebrony for more details about the project! Thanks for your consideration and I hope to hear from you soon! -Boosh PS. We are also in need of story boarders!
  15. Just like the title says. Have you heard of Phil Collins before? Are you a fan? If not, then who is your favorite artist?
  16. 17. Hey Forums! I'm looking for some new music since A: I have quite a small selection of it, and B: I've recently taken a liking to various electronic genres. (I can hear you typing "MUSIC FROM A COMPUTER ISN'T REAL MUSIC") I found out I liked these genres (Techno, house/progressive house, and others) through this fandom. So a lot of my music is from the fandom so while we have a lot music my library is pretty small. I also don't want to be "That Guy" who only listens to pony music. Artists I really like are: BlackGryph0m/Baasik Twitch YourEnigma WoodenToaster So if you could recommend some artists like these that would be nice. They can be pony-related they don't need to be I don't care whether they are or not.

  19. And now that I have your attention, continue reading onwards! As an artwork commissioner, collector and community runner all balled into one, one of the ongoing things I do is work with artists to create artworks. As a non-artist, this means I provide artists with the means by which they gain extra exposure and feedback in return for their help in bringing artworks to life. For those that know me, that means MyLittleBButtons! I'm looking for artists who'd be interested in doing promotional collaboration work with me for the trend that this community promotes. These collaborations would be casual, non-obligatory, for-fun artwork projects consisting of one or more (artist preference) artworks over a period of time. I will broach ideas to the artist, we will bounce back and forth with the ideas, and the artist will create the artwork(s) once we agree on a concept that'd be cool. Through MLBB, these custom-made group artworks will be shown off in the group's high-traffic custom artwork folder. Additionally, collab projects that consist of more than two artworks will recieve their own dedicated subfolder. * To clarify, there are no DeviantART Points or real money involved. These are not commissions, they're collabs for fun. Artists who are on board with this should be looking for an excuse to practice their drawing skills, while having fun and getting free, guaranteed exposure for the work they're creating, in the process. * I'd prefer any artist that considers working on some fun collab artwork with me, have a DeviantART account. * Please note that there are limited staff on MLBB, and we do not have the luxury of forming and executing collab projects with every artist that's interested. Regrettably, there will be elements of picking and choosing based on quality and other factors. You can read the original article blog of this over on my DA, which includes extra info. If you're an artist who's looking for opportunities to gain extra exposure while practicing your drawing, leave a comment or send me a private message!
  20. You guessed it, one of these threads has finally reached this place. The concept is rather simple List your 10 favorite artists in no particular order and then answer the questions below. (List the artists before reading the questions, it'll make things a lot more interesting) If you don't have 10 favorite artists, you may narrow the number down to whatever amount suits you, but 10 is the maximum amount allowed. If you listed less than 10 artists, simply skip the question(s) related to the number(s) you decided to skip Here's the format and the question. Copy pasting is recommended (durrrrururuururur) "Number 1", "number 5" etc refers to the artist you listed at said number Also, it would be nice if you hid your answers with spoiler tags, makes it easier for people to scroll down My answers: If you want to, you can do this more than once if you feel like you left out on some artists you really like
  21. the ad explains all. In short, I'm making an ponyRPG and i need sprites. Any good people out there? (As in you, or people you know) http://mlpforums.com/topic/111034-noragon-mlp-rpg-looking-for-sprite-artists/
  22. So, like, a friend of mine on Fanfiction referred me to this site, and I was wondering if anyone could draw my mare ponysona. Her name is Foxface (Non-hunger games related, mind you.), and she is a unicorn with a bright orange coat, a long, wavy crimson red mane and tail, with streaks of orange in it, and has a brown tip on the tail much like that of a fox, a white muzzle, yellow eyes, has a cutie mark of a japanese kitsune, and wears a pair of silver half-frame glasses and a pink kimono with a cherry blossom design on it.
  23. Our series: "Equestria: a Hidden History" is in need of artists and possibly Animators. As well as voice actors/actresses. We currently have three provious stories, if you'd like to see what we're about first. We've recently had a few changes to the cast, and writer. So the feel of the show is shifting towards a more canon feel. And I would like to animate it if possible. If not, that's fair, but we still need artists. Here are the last three episodes: Anypony who wants to animate them, let me know, and I'll be very grateful. And (of course) you will be credited for you work. This includes being named as animator in all future episodes. PM me or Masterchaoss for details. Thank you all for taking the time to read this. Oh! As a side note: there will be Discord, so we need some pony good at drawing (and voicing) him! Cheers! Actors: audition in the Casting Call thread: http://mlpforums.com/topic/101150-casting-call-for-equestria-hidden-history/?view=getnewpost
  24. I really want to start drawing ponies. I need help with creating a ponysona. Are there any tips you can give me for creating a ponysona? Also, have any easy tips for drawing ponies?
  25. Would somepony please care to explain to me the new "Navel Trend" for ponies? I personally don't understand the reference and I don't think it adds to the cuteness factor to the character. My apologies for being so ignorant but my curiosity has gotten the better of me
